Let's laugh

Cathlete
First, you need to know that I am a very self-entertaining kind of person. My mind works (if I'm lucky) in mysterious ways! So I thought this would be fun. I was thinking of all the "improvements" in myself since I started seriously working out with Cathe. So here it is - all the things I CAN and CAN NOT do since starting with Cathe. Feel free to share your list. Cheryl

Things I CAN do:
1. Wake up in the am without feeling like someone beat me up (sore back, sore neck, etc).
2. Wake up in the am and leap out of bed.
3. Teach 20 4yr old disadvantaged kids for 8 hrs a day.
4. Run after those 4 yr olds.
5. Dance with those 4 yr olds and not get tired.
6. Carry any one of those 4 yr olds who is crying or bleeding.
7. Look forward to working out when I get home.
8. Look in a 3 way mirror and check out all angles.
9. Feel like I could "take" anyone who messes with my family.
10. Stay energized yet sleep well.

Things I CAN NOT do:
1. Fit into a size 2, well maybe my thigh
2. Stop buying more videos and dvds.
3. Go braless and look good. (unless it's spandex)
4. Finish a sentence and stay on topic.
5. Marry Antonio Bandares
6. Become fond of cats
7. Care about the amount of dust in my house
8. Become a gourmet cook
9. Care to become a gourmet cook
10. Be serious most of the time

What a FABULOUS idea, Cheryl!! Here's my list:

CAN do:

1. Run up the stairs and not feel like I'm going to pass out!
2. Run around like a crazy woman at work and still have energy to be patient with everyone and smile!
3. Lift more weight than my husband can - LOL!!
4. Lift my 5'0", 108 pound, almost 13 year old daughter! (She loves that!!)
5. Get up at 6:00 AM on school days, get her on the bus, workout, shower, clean, do errands, then go to work that night for a 12 hour night and not need 3 days in which to recover!!
6. Lift a set of 20# dumbells like they were nothing!
7. Carry boxes upon boxes of Christmas decorations up the basement stairs!
8. Laugh more easily ... smile more often ... have more fun!!
9. Fit comfortably into a size 6 - the same size I wore in college!!!

CANNOT do:

1. Stop buying Cathe's workouts! I swear if she made a "Washing your bathroom walls" workout out I'd buy it!! LOL!!
2. Be a six foot tall blonde.
3. Watch a sad movie without crying at least twice.
4. Pass up leftover Halloween candy!!
5. Stop stepping on the scale at least once a day. Okay ... at least twice a day.
6. Stop smiling everytime I catch a glimpse of myself sideways in a mirror! I'm still shocked I'm THIN!!
7. Take a compliment well. I'm not worthy!! LOL!!

This was fun!! Great thread, Cheryl!!

This is great :) Let me try...

Since working out seriously with Cathe, I

CAN:
1. BRAG about my workout videos instead of rushing to hide them
when somebody comes over.
2. More often than not outrun, outhike, outwalk, and outaerobicize
anybody who dares tell me they can do better than I }(.
3. Threaten my DB and mean it :)
4. Argue very very very well with women who think weight training
is bullsh*$ (and there are many).
5. Eat out with coworkers or friends and be the only female who
doesn't feel the least bit guilty for putting food in my
mouth...or spend 30 minutes talking about it.
6. Work 12 hour days and still look forward to working out.
7. Be angry at my parents for not taking better care of themselves,
and not be a hypocrit.
8. Convince people to start exercising, because believe what I have
to say.
9. Think about running a marathon.
CANNOT:
1. Save the world.
2. Cook. Period.
3. Figure out what I want to do with my life.
4. Figure out what I am doing with my life.
5. Open a jar of applesauce.
6. Get my DB to workout with me.
7. Get my parents to stop smoking.
8. Give up my double shot soy lattes, kona mocha soy frappes,
regular brewed coffee, or any form of caffeine!
9. Have legs like Cathe ;(.
10. Tell my boss where to go, or how to get there!!!!
11. Run a marathon (YET!! :D)
12. Stop spending all of my time on this forum. I need help, guys!

This is a great thread... let's see....

Since working out with Cathe...

I can..

1. Show off my biceps
2. Wake up without aches and pains
3. Run up the subway stairs without fainting
4. Work all day then workout with Cathe
5. Carry my 4 year old grandson up three flights of stairs
6. Lift myself off of a wheel chair (had recent knee surgery)
7. Do 5 real pushups
8. Carry heavy grocery bags
9. Show off my workout videos and dvds and equipment
10. Dance all night on a week day and be fresh as a daisy next
morning.

I still can't...

1. Stop hair from graying
2. Buying Cathe workouts
3. Be a size 8
4. Take life so seriously
5. Let a good sale pass
6. Tolerate closed minded people
7. Wait until Cathe creates a new Intensity Blast Series - LOL.

Take care,

Iris

Things I can do:
Pepper my speech with “Cathe” sayings throughout the day.
Use what I used to consider my ‘heavy’ weights as my ‘light’ weights now.
See a license plate with any combination of letters on it and immediately think of the corresponding Cathe video those letters stand for.
Make it through Cathe workouts that are much tougher than anything I used to do.
Park waaaay in the back of the mall lot and run to the store without gasping for air once I get there.
Give my UPS man something to do every time a new Cathe DVD comes out.
Work my credit card while buying new equipment almost as hard as Cathe works me.
Push-ups on my toes.
Kickboxing (I never would have tried this before, had it not been for Cathe).
Plyo anything (I used to stay grounded a lot. Shame on me.)

Things I cannot do:
Stop myself from singing “Rainmaker” or “Buttercup” the rest of the day if I do Imax II in the a.m.
Purchase any other instructor’s videos because Cathe has spoiled me so.
Use my older workouts now because they’ve become too easy.
Use my 2 or 3# weights anymore.
Sit still as much as I used to.
Hold off ordering a new DVD of Cathe’s.

hee hee - what a good post!

Things I CAN do:
> Pull my behind out of bed every morning for my workout with Cathe!
> Be happy about pulling my behind out of bed every morning because of Cathe!
> See some faint resemblence of a six pack just dying to appear in my abdominal area
> Ditto the eat and not feel guilty part - I've done my Cathe workout for the day!!!
> see some muscle tone!
> Ride my bike faster with strength from all those step-ups!
> Be hopelessly addicted to this forum :)
> Go out with Johnny Depp when he comes to my door - DH says it's okay.

Things I CANNOT do:
> See the full six pack action quite yet....
> Move my jellified arms after PUB
> Ever ever give up Cathe!
> Hear a song on the radio from a Cathe video and not think of the move she's doing while it's on....
> run out of ideas for gifts I'd like for my birthday each year
> any other workout after PLB like Cathe suggests in her rotation - are you mad woman?!!!
> Go out with Johnny Depp because I have a sinking suspicion he's never going to come to my door....

Have a great day!!

2. keep my three-year-old in line because he knows that if he throws a violent fit, Mama can hold him down on the floor for as long as necessary without losing her breath
1. go through fashion magazines and laugh at the models' toothpick arms

CAN'T:
10. keep myself from recommending Cathe to everyone I know
9. get myself into my old pairs of pants unless I use a couple of safety pins

6. keep any plant alive
5. understand T.S. Eliot
4. figure out calculus or the concept of stochastic probability
3. cook to save my life
