Let's Do This Again STSept-Dec! *Sept 20-26*

If I wasn't doing STS, I'd probably just have skipped today, because I really wasn't in the mood to workout. But, I really don't want to mess up my rotation so I did it, and fortunately Cathe was not there to hear me being rude to her. ;)

Today was Disk 5 Back and Triceps. I did get to use my tower for chin ups and pull ups. I did the easier version with legs bent and just managed to eek out 12 of them. The other day I was showing the boys how to do it and I managed 1 vertical one like Cathe does. So, I've got tons of room for improvment!

Denise I've got Disk 6 tomorrow and I'm hoping I come out of it better than I did with Disk 3. :D
 
Hi everyone!

I may repeat last week so I can be on the same page as a few of you. I did disc 10 & 11 on the same day, then yesterday I went swimming! For the record, I would not recommend doing that combination. My shoulders are fried!

It is hot has hades here right now - but I am going to assemble the power tower and give it a whirl (being mindful of my shoulders of course!)
 
Today I started STS again; I had only gotten up to disc 6 last time when the stress of life got in the way and I resorted to my old stress reliever -- eating . I'm going to do the 6 month program, I notice that you all are doing the 3 month, hope it's okay for me to join in.
Anyway, Disc 1 -- All those pushups I can't do a pushup on my toes to save my soul. So I did all of them on my knees. Long ago I was able to struggle out 6 or 7 on my toes, but I'm an upper body wimp. Shoulders are weak, biceps a bit stronger. I'm determined to do the program all the way through this time and hoping for results.

I am doing the 6 1/2 month rotation of STS. I will be finishing up with disc 12 on Friday and after Sat cardio w/o headed into recovery week. I have been posting on the STS forums but I feel silly always posting to myself. Would it be ok if join here?
 
Good Evening STS Friends :)

Today was walking on the treadmill in the morning and then I got a last minute invite for tennis tonight, so I got to play for 2 hours. I sacrificed my STS workout to do it, so now I will have to double up cardio and STS tomorrow and then do another on Saturday to stay on track.

Heather I am glad you shoulder is feeling better.

Cathy, dont worry about being rude to Cathe during STS, I say things all the time and she has yet to yell anything back at me. ;)

Janis, hope your shoulders feel better, I cant even imagine attempting two discs on the same day. Enjoy your new tower.

Lori, good job on getting started on your new rotation. I still do the vast majority of the pushups on my knees, gives you something to work towards.

Jo-Jo, of course you can come join us here, no need to post to yourself :)

I did Michelle Dozios new Ultimate Workout (cardio portion) this morning. That sure is a fun little 30 minute workout. I didn't sleep well last night so I reversed the order of my "double" workouts and I'll shoot for my Insanity cardio after work tonight.

This is such a bad time of year for me and not just because I'm under a TREMENDOUS amount of stress that just keeps getting LARGER! I say this because it is "new show season" and all my new shows are back on and this means "way too much tv"---I think I may have to plop myself on my extremely quiet elliptical and make myself stay on it at a slow leisurely pace while I watch. Geesh, gotta do something ;)!

I also have to watch my stress eating. I know "that time of month" is about a week away but over the past 4-5 days, my hunger has been terrible. Not that I'm eating tons of calories (maybe 2000 a day) but I'm eating more than I want too since I'm trying to lose weight. I've told myself I have 2 more days (today and tomorrow) to get it out of my system and then I have a plan of action. If I meet my intended goal then I'm going to treat myself to something. I'm not sure what yet but I have a few ideas. :) I've been in MAINTENANCE MODE for awhile so I believe a nice swift kick in the pants should get me over the hump so I can start losing again. (plus maybe some relaxing yoga stretches before bed should help me get some much needed sleep which will help me fight cravings and give me more energy)

This morning I did Step Blast and AC Medicine Ball Abs.

Lori, I usually end up doing a lot of the push-ups on my knees. When I did them this week, I used the tower and found I can get much lower in the move and do them all on my toes. I figure that's probably more beneficial in the long run than continue to drop to my knees.
 
I didn't workout Tuesday. Just to tired and I didn't want to risk injury. I did disc 2 yesterday and my triceps and upper back are screaming!! I'm going to do Insanity Pure Cardio today and disc 3 tomorrow.
 
I did disc 2 this morning and it went much better than disc 1 because there weren't all those darn pushups. My triceps are weak so I struggled a bit with those but the back work went okay. Then I did Cardio Coach Vol 3. I will sleep well tonight. I was thinking of doing disc 3 tomorrow so that I can catch up, but haven't committed to it.

Good Evening All-

This morning I did IMAX2 premix of intervals 1-5, plus I added the step combos only from intervals 6-10 to make it a little longer. Tonight I did disc 7, the insane push-up nightmare, what was cathe thinking? Im going with the theory that some some editor at nfl films just thought they would have some fun and splice all the pushup segments together in one workout like a bad fraternity hazing prank on all of unsuspecting home athletes. :p Hopefully I will have no need to use my upper body tomorrow. lol

Looks like everyone is doing well with their workouts today.

You know MJ, I could have done without the reminder that I have to do the push-ups from hell workout on Monday. ;)

This morning was Disk 6 Legs...tomorrow I'll find out if I can walk. My glutes are already talking to me some.
 
Didn't do disc 3 today, instead did Cardio Coach PP for the very first time. Yikes :eek: That was intense! Hoping to get in disc 3 either tomorrow or Sunday, if I can find the time. I'm spending time with my Baby this weekend, I haven't seen him since Monday :(

Hey Everyone

I have not checked in for a few days... I did write a message on Thursday but it didn' t post and I didn't have time to do it again.

I did Back and Triceps Disc 8 today and went for a run yesterday. My legs are pretty sore from Weds. legs day! Just the inner thigh! Not sure what I did differently as I have been doing Butts and Guts with no DOMS. Oh well. Tomorrow I am going to do Butts and Guts. I was planning on doing the Back disc on Friday but my shoulder and neck were not feeling healed. I am still not totally healed so I dropped the barbell row weight down alot!. It was at 70lbs and I put it down to 55. Hopefully I won't pay tonight!

It's crazy my DH and I were planning on going out to a movie tonight and there is absolutely nothing that we really wanted to spend the money on to see. Sad! Maybe we'll take the kids to the meatball movie!

Today is my rest day. I'm barely sore from Disk 6, unlike Disk 3 last week. There's like no comparison between how my legs feel this week to how much they hurt last week. Are the workouts really that different? Sometimes I get more DOMS at 48, so well see what happens.
 
Hello Happy Saturday

I completed disc 12 of STS last nite and today was KCM Cardio Blast Premix 1 - Atlthletic Step w/ 1 plyo. I am so looking forward to recivery week. I have all my new DVD set and ready to go, plus I defintely have to get in running for my bext 3 5ks.
