Leaner Legs question

Hello everyone. For those of you who have Leaner Legs, how much weight do you use on the barbell? Cathe says at the beginning that she is using 35 lbs. on hers, but it looks like she is using 25 lbs.. (It looks like 2 10-lb. plates on a 5-lb. bar.) What do y'all do? Thanks a bunch.

Right now I do 30 lbs. but next time I do it I will move to 35 since I have been upping my weight in some other videos now. In the pyramids I now do her exact weight. When I first started doing her videos about a year ago, I did exactly half her weight and now that I am almost or sometimes matching her it makes me proud to see I have become stronger.

I think Cathe's bar is 15 lbs and the plates 10 a piece. I use 35 or 40. But I have used heavier and taken breaks between weights....I have lifted a long time and like using heavy weights. That is great you have gotten stronger...:)

I use 35lbs, but should be using heavier. CTX was my first Cathe weight training workout, and I've been doing it for years. I started off much lighter than she, worked my way up to matching, and now find LL to be "no big deal" anymore. I take that to mean that I should raise it up, but it makes me feel so proud to get through that workout and still be able to walk steady afterwards.

Okay, okay, I promise the next time I do it, I'll raise the barbell to 40lbs for the squats - but I'm dropping it to 35 for the lunges and plie low ends!!

I heard ages ago, from someone on these forums, that in LL Cathe actually uses less weight than she says she does. I don't know if this is true, and if it is, I don't know why. It would be the only workout where that's the case.

I started with whatever weight Cathe was using + 5#, and I've been increasing weight on this. The last time I used it, I used a 40# barbell plus a 10# weighted belt for most moves (I don't like lifting more than 45# overhead) and a 30# barbell for some of the latter moves (like hover squats and lunges). And from the get-go, I've used 10# and 15# dumbells for the step-ups (vs Cathe's 8# and 10#), but I put a longer break between sets as necessary (as I do with many Cathe workouts).

I also changed it up a bit, substituting an actual 'off the floor' deadlift for the last sets of Romanian deadlifts, after reading that deadlifts are the best gauge of overall body strength (and you can really feel them in both glutes and hamstrings!). I set up the barbell on two step risers per side (the plates sat inside the risers) to get the bar a bit higher from the floor, about where it would be if I used larger Olympic plates to do the move) and it worked really well.
