KK's September Check-In

Good morning!

Had to pop in an tell you that I like your Meez today a lot Janie!!! Court room background...cool.

Well, back to the hectic pace of catching back up with all that I missed last week. Yuck.

Talk to you later!

This is one of these days. I had a reply almost done and hit the back key on this window by accident and lost it. AACCCKKK!

Anyway, we are hanging in here. The deck itself is almost done. Now, we are waiting for the railings to come in. They should be really nice as they are white. My house is light gray and set off in white. The deck is gray so it all ties together nicely.

Karen - I can't believe you don't use your tub! You don't know what you are missing. We usually only get in about 20 minutes to half an hour a night but it is so relaxing. I find I sleep better as well, which isn't something I expected. X-train Express is Cathe's Cross Train Express. I was being lazy and in a hurry and just used the X. Your workout for the week looks challenging. I don't know why but Cardio and Weights is a hard workout for me to get through. I don't like it as well as some of her others. I'm hoping to do IMAX2 today myself. That one is so much fun! Keep going, I know that stubborn weight will come off.

Jeanette - I'm mostly trail riding. We are in the mountains so a lot of it is rocky and up and down. We have permission to ride on thousands of acres so I'm still learning trails. Will be for a while I have a feeling. I have been going up and taking lessons from a really good instructor once a week but I haven't been up in a couple weeks because our schedules seem to not work out. That is schooling and improving my seat. She really helped me with my seat in the canter. Your workouts look great. Would you believe I've had 4DS for a couple of months but haven't done them yet? How did the paving project come out?

Janie - I have my fingers crossed your doctor will release you for some light exercise. I know you can't wait. I'm sure your writing will come together. Hang in there! Oooh, your soap sounds really nice!

Rhea - I'm not talking about the interview either. Hope your week isn't too busy playing catch up!

Hi to Mandy!

Tammy

Good Evening!

Tough day today. I lost Georgie (my cat). I have him back now, but for a few hours there... I take him outside everyday, but I watch him cause I'm afraid to let him go here in this neighborhood -- there's alot here for him to get in trouble with. He slid under a high fence that I couldn't get over and by the time I ran the distance around the block to the neighbor's house, he was gone.:(

After calling and calling for about an hour, I finally came back inside and did IMAX2 1-5 intervals and then went and looked for him again. Went back outside and called and he came to me. He was so hot, he was panting. He had gone under one of the buildings here. Anyway, it was a tough way to start the day.

Finished up IMAX2 tonight with intervals 6-10. I, too love that workout.

Rhea, as soon as I saw Janie's Meez, I knew it was for you. :) Hope the workouts go well. I have to order that DVD from Collage -- it is on my to do list so I don't forget.

Janie, I love that graphic, and I, too, hope that the doctor gives you permission to do some light exercise. But if he doesn't that's okay, too, cause it will come eventually. How's the soap coming?

Tammy, yes, it's amazing that we never used that hot tub. Too laziy I guess, but it never really worked well and it leaked. Let's see, what other justification can I give you? Those trails you talk about sound beautiful. What a wonderful thing it must be to be able to ride like that in the wild.

You will love 4DS, by the way. At first, I wasn't sure cause I didn't like the music as well. But it really gets the results and it really is a fun series.:)

Hi Jeanette & Hi to Mandy!

Hi,
Forgot to post this morning. I didn't work out at all, just spent about 30 minutes stretching my poor, stiff body. We finished laying the pavers down yesterday. It turned out really nice. I need to buy a sealant and apply it and then it will be done. I didn't work out Saturday or Sunday as I knew all that functional fitness stuff was going to be enough.

Karen, thank goodness you found Georgie!!! Bet you could have cried when he came back.

Mandy, the deck sounds great! Must blend beautifully with your house. My last horse (quarter horse) had the worst canter. His natural way of going had him very hollow, with his head up. Took me a long time through dressage training to get him more comfortable. He was the type of horse that even standing in the corral, his neck was higher than your average horse. Very much a challenge to put together. I would never buy a horse with that conformation again. You spend a lot of time fixing stuff instead of moving on to other things. The trails sound wonderful and glad you are enjoying them. The 4DS workouts are great!!! Very effective for me. I like the shorter weight workouts and shorter cardio. Give them a try.

Rhea, crossing my fingers for you... I too need to order Dance Fit.

Janie, how did the soap making turn out? What are some of the scents? Hope you have good news from your PS tomorrow.

Must go now, talk to you all tomorrow,

Jeanette, So glad the pavers are almost done. Need pictures please.;) Use a foam roller to help get the kinks out of your poor stiff body.:) I'm on a roll with my soap. I don't use a scent in my soaps. Scent has chemicals in it :(and I'm doing natural soaps.

KK, So glad you have Georgie back. Wow! What a close call. Give him hugs for me.;)

Tammy, Many times I have to rewrite my stuff. Hate it when that happens. Need pictures of your deck! I bet it is beautiful!:D

Thanks for the support about stretching tomorrow.:) I hope I can stretch also, we'll see. Let you know when I get home from seeing my PS.

Janie

Good morning,
Today was Cardio & Weights. Tonite will be golf with a girlfriend.

Tammy, sorry, I got you mixed up with Mandy last night. What color is your horse? Janie has a black horse on her Meez. Dark bay is my favorite color. I used to have a little dark bay Quarter Horse. She was a cutey pie.

Janie, sending good thoughts for your doctor appointment today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon!

Well I didn't get my workout in yesterday, took Piceron for a ride though. Our fall trail ride is this weekend so I'm still conditioning him. Poor guy had to go up and down some looonng and steep hills. I got my workout in today so I just did the IMAX2 I was supposed to do yesterday and some of CoreMax this morning. It rained this morning so I could get my workout in because the construction guys weren't here. They are getting close. Our railings won't come in until Thursday, but Joe is going to have them the put the roof on the tackroom/washrack project we have going on until the railings get here. Lots happening this year on the farm!

Karen - I'm so glad you got your cat back! Joe laughs at me but I got one of those full body collars and a leash for my housecat so I can take her outside. I'm too afraid to let her out by herself. I'm afraid a hawk or a coyote will get her if I just turn her out. I'm with you, IMAX2 is one of my fave workouts! I am going to have to figure out how to work 4DS in. I try to workout 6 days a week so I'm not real sure how to do that. I'm thinking I may save it for next summer and just work out 4 days a week. Maybe switch it up some with some other series.... It's so hard to get 6 days in with everything else going on during the summer months. Bummer about the hot tub. Oh well, I'm sure an exercise room would be great. I'm using what will (someday) be our living room upstairs as my exercise room.

Jeanette - Sounds like you did a good bit of work. I'd love to see pictures. If you can see my avatar, those are my 3 boys. The gray in front is my 1st horse, my Thoroughbred, Pete. (He had the worst trot in the world but the most wonderful canter. He could easily do those 12-foot strides down the line when jumping courses.) He is mostly retired. As a matter of fact, I'm afraid we are going to have to put him down soon. I'm hoping not, but he has melanomas up under his tail so bad (curse of the gray horse). They have gotten so large this year; the vet says as long as he can still go to the bathroom, he is okay. I'm trying not to think about it.... The horse off to the left is my husband's horse, Toby. He is dark bay with 1 white foot and a little half moon on his forehead. He is part Morgan and part Walker (not gaited). The horse to the right and kind of behind the others is my Paso Fino, Piceron. He is a red bay with 3 white feet. He is so much fun. I just love riding him. Quite the personality. One of the first horses I used to ride was a chestnut Quarter Horse. She was a sweetie. Have fun with golf tonight!

Janie - Love your picture of the horse. Quite a distinguished looking black! When we finally get it done, I will have to figure out how to get some pictures posted. We do have to have the mason come back. He is going to put stone around the poles up to about 4 feet. It will match the stone that is in the fireplace. I think it will look really good. Good luck with the appointment today! I'm sending good vibes about what he says about exercise.

Hi to Rhea and Mandy! Gotta run!

Hi Everyone!

Good news!:D Saw my PS and can do any exercise I want!:D:D:D I just have to pay close attention to my body, and if I see anything going weird, then to ease back.

I walked on the treadmill 30 min. and did stretches afterwords. Can't tell you how good that feels!;)

I'm finely off the couch/lounger where I spent more than 6 weeks there sleeping sitting half way up. I'm going to sleep in my wonderful bed tonight. I think it's time.

I'm so happy!!!! Scab is still on my left breast and I've lost the nipple, but who cares! I'm healthy, can exercise, and I don't have cancer. Can't get any better than that.:) And those darn old implants are gone! Yeah!

See yas,

Janie

Good Afternoon!

Am checking in a little early. Hi!:D

Today was ME -- the premix (which is about 55-60 minutes) express workout. My upper body muscles were shaking a bit afterwards -- it was a hard workout for me today for some reason.

Today was also blog day. I was very attentative with Georgie's outting today. He doesn't understand why he can't be out all the time, but there's just too much here that could be a problem to him -- dogs mostly.

Jeanette, stretching after your weekend sounds lovely. And golf today I be will be great. Really like Cardio & Weights, too. It's on my workout schedule this week also.

Janie, hope all went well today. Have my fingers crossed. That's quite a graphic -- beautiful.

Tammy, amazing how busy these things make us, huh? Bet that hot tub is going to be great. You could do a cardio & stretch on one of the days on :Dthe 4DS, just to make up a five day schedule. I love those cardio & stretch days. Almost like a day off without it being a day off.

Love the discussions about the horses. Even though I don't have horses, am really enjoying it.:)

Well, have a super rest of the day today and a super day tomorrow.:D

Morning,
Today was Butts & Guts warmup, floor work with ankle weights, core work and stretch. Played golf last night with a girlfriend and had a wonderful time! Tonite will be helping DH get ready for his trip and maybe a bike ride.

Karen, I too like the premixes. I don't like going over an hour myself. I don't blame you for keeping a close eye on Georgie.

Janie!!! Great news on getting to move again!!! Bet you are itching to start!!

Tammy, hope you have a great time on the trail ride that's upcoming. I loved long strided horses. I used to have a Thoroughbred that wasn't very tall (15.2 hands), but he had a nice, long stride, no problem with the distances on jumps. After that, I bought a really nice appendix QH that could do changes with just your weight shifts. A super willing jumper too, but he had about an 11' stride. Made it tough on the in and outs. You either had to really push him, or check him back. Sad about your gray horse. That melanoma thing is so bad with grays. I always wanted to ride a gaited horse, but never got a chance to.

See you all tomorrow

Good morning everyone!

Janie - great news about exercising! Whoo hoo. Have fun.

Karen - glad to see that Georgie is not straying again. It is not fun when they go exploring.

Don't know anything about horses, but it is fun to "read" all about it.

I got in a small workout yesterday. I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam and then the Great Abs dvd. Have been tired from all the traveling. I was going to try and get up this morning, yeah right. Got up a little earlier, but just had coffee and read my book. I'm not sure what workout I will do today. The inspiration will have to hit me when I look at all those dvds when I get home!

Have a great day everyone!

Rhea, What workout did you decide?

Jeanette and Tammy, Love your horse stories!;)

KK, Great workout! My you are doing so well.:)

I did 20 min. on the treadmill, (it was .5 mph faster from yesterday) and stretches. I plan on doing Yoga tonight.

Our floor still isn't done, but it's getting there.

Mandy how ya doing?

Off to take a shower,

Janie

Hi Janie!!

I haven't decided yet. I went home at lunch to workout and I had forgotten that the fridge repair guy was going to be there. So I came back to work. I'm leaning towards Cardio and Weights. I need to get a weight program going. I, for some reason, shy away from the weights when I want to "get going." I think it is because I "feel" like I have a good workout when I'm dripping with sweat. Weight workouts don't make me drip. But I know that they are better for me because more muscle, more calorie burn (I'm only writing it to reinforce it in my brain. I wonder if it will work. Maybe I should learn to say it in Spanish too!!)

Any hoo, enough procrastinating for me, back to work.

p.s. didn't get the job. I think I was the number two choice. Darn it.

Good Evening!

Hi! Wow, lots going on. Janie, I don't know how I missed it, but congrats on being able to do any exercise -- and you get to sleep in your own bed. I had no idea you weren't. You must be on cloud 9.:p

Today was a cardio & stretch day for me -- did a premix from Step, Jump & Pump -- about 30 minutes -- then the #3 stretch and tonight did an easy FIRM. Am tired tonight for some reason and just couldn't see doing anything hard.

Jeanette, that bike ride really sounds lovely. And your exercises are intense. Way to go!:) Hope your DH has a terrific trip. Bet you'll miss him.

Rhea, I sure miss that Turbo Jam set that I gave my daughter. Oh, I ordered the Christi DVD today. I'll be looking forward to that. Made me smile with your Spanish. Did you say it in Spanish, too?:)

Janie, love that graphic again, and terrific on the treadmill. Yea!:p

Well, I have to get some chicken cut up for Georgie and get into my "getting ready to go to bed" routine. Goodness, it takes me a while.

Have a super day tomorrow everyone!:D

Good morning,
Today was LIC, the Total Body Sculpt premix 47 minutes, but I left off the abs and then did 2 step circuits with the blast, total workout about 60 minutes. Yesterday I did a bike ride after work, which felt good.

Karen, please let me know if you like the Christi DVD. I'm interested too. Glad you ordered it and hope you enjoy it as well as Rhea does. I almost did a premix from SJP today too.

Rhea, sorry you didn't get the job, but sure something else will open up.

Janie, bet you enjoyed the treadmill. Are you walking on it? I'm assuming it's not running. How was the yoga?

Must run, hi to Mandy and Tammy,

Good morning!

Yesterday I did Cardio and Weights, a oldy, but fun. Even though I haven't done it for a while, it fit like a glove. Everything familiar. Even got to put a little more emphasis on the legs, which may have been an "oops". I'm tired today. Not sure what will be on tap for tonight. I have a meeting tonight, so I can't totally wear myself out. But I'm leaning towards the new fav....even though I did upper body yesterday. I might have to do a lower body weight. Maybe Butts and Guts, I haven't done that one for a while.:D

Have a great day everyone!

Rhea, I also feel sometimes that if I'm not sweaty after a workout then maybe it didn't work. I'm sure, as you say that it does . Sorry you didn't get the job, but, you will get a better job than that one. Wait and see. Good luck for the next time.;) Cardio and weight is one of my favorites, hope you had fun doing it.

KK, thanks for your support. I think you missed me posting my OK to exercise because we posted at about the same time. Not only can I sleep in my own bed, I now can sleep on my side! I am on cloud nine. You treat Georgie so well. I love that.:)

Jeanette, Way to go on your workouts. Yes, I love the treadmill and last nights yoga. I've been walking on the treadmill and I couldn't do a lot of yoga, I was so so so tight.:( It will loosen up eventually.

Hey, buy the Christy DVD, any of them, they are terriffic! I'm hoping to be able to do one soon.

Hi Mandy and Tammy.

Today will be a rest day. (that means soap making) Joey needs one more board for the aerobic flooring. He needs to get another package just for that. Oh well, we'll have extras when we need them. He won't get the package of them until later this week when we go to our dentist on Tuesday. The Marcy Machine is here and I'll try light weight tomorrow. Also perhaps a fast walk around our property for a little cardio. I'll let you know what I decide.

Take care everyone, have a great day. I'll try to get back later today to see how everyone is doing.

I edited to also say remember the 9/11 attack and to have a moment for the families that were afflicted.

Janie

Good Afternoon!

Hi!

Wow! I also did Cardio & Weights today -- that's 3 of us who had it on their workout schedule this week. I do like that last cardio -- the one wher you kinda cha-cha around the board -- that's my favorite part. Not sure what I'll do tonight -- still fighting over that weight.

Jeanette, your workout again sound really intense. I bet the bike ride was great -- I always loved riding because it gets your attention outward. When I was young it was a good way for me to relax.

Rhea, yeah, there will be lots more and probably better jobs out there. I was going to suggest to you Boot Camp from the Intensity series because it gets me sweaty and yet has weights -- it's also on my workout schedule for this week.

Janie, it's so great to see that you are back in the saddle so to speak. Another cute graphic -- love her dress. Great that you can sleep on your side again -- no fun to not be able to sleep like you want to. And thanks for your commendation on Georgie. But it's so easy, cause he's good to me, too.:)

Hi Tammy & Mandy! Hope all is well with you.

Well, I'm off for another work-filled day and then evening on course. Don't know about you, but I said a prayer for the families of 9/11 today. It's a shame that it's been 7 years and still no arrests made and no one in prison awaiting their just deserts over it. My heart goes out to those families. Take care, everyone.

Hi Everyone,

Well I did SJP yesterday. Not sure if I will be able to squeeze in a workout today or not. If so, it will be Muscle Max. I also rode my horse yesterday and I'm getting ready to go ride my husband's now. I'm trying to talk him into doing the riding club's trail ride with me on Saturday. There is a possibility of rain so we will have to see if that works out.

Janie - Great news about the working out. Hooray! I know you are glad, especially to be back in your own bed!

Rhea - I love Butts & Gutts! That's another good one. Sorry about the job. I bet a better one will come open on down the line.

Jeanette - Sounds like you have had some nice horses. You are going to laugh. My Paso was supposedly measured at 14.3. If he's 14.2, it's a stretch. The good thing is I can jump on and off quite easily. Comes in handy when I have to get off to open and shut gates.

Karen - I agree with you about 911. I've had some of the coverage on behind me as I was working today. I always feel bad about talking about my critters because I don't want to take over the thread. Glad you are enjoying it.

Hi to Mandy. Hope everything is well with you.

Gotta run,

Tammy

Joey has enough of the floor put together to do a workout!

Tonight, I decided to do the first segment of "Forza" a samurai sword workout. :p It's using a wooden sword (bokken). It is also an intense cardio. It is an intermediate to advanced workout. The instructor is Ilaria Montagnani. She along with Cathe, are my idols. At least in the way I want my body to look. (maybe the next life for me) In the mean time I'll do their workouts and have fun doing it. It is a tough upper body workout. You also use your legs, but in the first segment not so much legs. It was only about 15 or 20 minutes long. It's a start.

Ilaria also has another workout called "Powerstrike Kickboxing. She will have others later this year or the beginning of next year. This one I understand is intermediate to advanced. Can't wait to do this one too.

Tomorrow morning I plan on doing a step workout by Cathe. One of her earlier ones. I may or may not get through it, but I'll do my best.

The floor should be completed tomorrow night. I'll have pictures to show, when I figure out how to do it. I think I'll need help from my Joey.

Well I've made 3 batches of soap today. It's been a busy day. Now off to make dinner for Joey and me. We earned it.

Janie
