KK's September Check In

Good afternoon ladies.

Yesterday I did PLB. This AM I did PUB (with my DH) and then went on a 25 minute jog.

Karen, I hope you enjoyed IMAX 2.

Jeanette, I hope you are enjoying your vacation.

Rhea, good work increasing the intensity gradually. You don't want to go too quickly and get an injury.

I don't have anything on my rotation schedule for tomorrow, but I'll probably do some sort of cardio...maybe an outside run or something since it is so nice outside. Here's my rotation for the upcoming week:

Monday: Boot Camp
Tuesday: Step Works
Wednesday: MIS
Thursday: Rhythmic Step + abs
Friday: IMAX Xtreme
Saturday: ME

Must get back to studying. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

-Becky

Hi Ladies!:)

Great weekend for me. Relaxing -- although my diet could be going better. Finished my part of the taxes on Sat. morning -- now I'm waiting for my husband's stuff and then off to the accountant. Whew! x(

So I rewarded myself with the full 68 minute KPC workout -- haven't done the full thing for a while -- and I love that workout so much. Of course, I didn't do the kicks to the left -- but rather just chambered up -- that's the hip that gets injured easily. But other than that -- wow, what a workout! :p

Becky -- hope your studying is going well. What happened with the apartment -- and you DH's interviews? Hope all is well along that line, too. Your schedule looks intense.

Rhea -- howdy! Hope your weekend was great.

Here's my plan for the upcoming week.

Mon: IMAX3 -- on a 4" step

Tues: Cardio & Weights

Wed: Some sort of cardio mabye Tae Bo -- about 30 minutes, plus a 20 minute stretch -- a run outside if the pollen is cleared out

Thurs: ME

Fri: IMAX2

Sat: Bootcamp

Breakdown: 5 days of cardio; 3 days of weights; 2 days of anaerobics; 4 - 5 days of plyometrics; stetch eaveryday, but one day devoted to it.

Edited to say that on my diet -- I'm going to concentrate on eating less fat, fewer grains and just eating less in general. I'm a pound high -- and at my age, it's just simply hard to take off -- so I'm really going to concentrate this week. Would love to lose 3 pounds. Sounds easily -- but boy, it's not.

Have a terrific day, everyone and happy workouts!:7

Good morning!

I can finally get on the site! The site must have been down for a long time on Friday.

Hmm, don't even remember what I did on Friday. Except work and then I bartended. Did I workout? Yeah, I did a pre-mix on the ME. I ran out of time, so did even get to do the whole premix, but got most of it in. Then I had a massage, that's right...wow, busy day.

Sat I got to go and visit my sister in Redding. DH bought a 1979 Triumph Spitfire from my brother in law, so I bought a new sewing machine. Okay, I wasn't planning on actually buying the machine, was just looking, but I got no payments, zero percent for a year. Yesterday was spent catching up with chores so I could play with my sewing machine.

Let's see today....it will be a short workout if I can squeeze one in before leaving for doc appt in Reno. But I might have some time. Just depends on what time I get out of here.

Have great workouts everyone. Hope ya'll had a great weekend too!

Good evening ladies.

Rhea, sounds like you had a great weekend. I hope you enjoy your new sewing machine. The closest I come to sewing is using hem tape and an iron.

Karen, so glad you got those taxes done. I know they can be a chore. Your rotation looks really challenging this week. Keep up the good work!

Jeanette, hope you are enjoying your vacation!

This AM I did Bootcamp. It was a lot of fun (except those squat thrust climbers). Tomorrow I do Step Works for the first time. I think this is the last Cathe cardio that I have yet to do.

We did get the apartment. And I found some movers today. They came in and did an in-home consultation and we have a binding estimate. It is good to have that done. We are still waiting to hear on that final technical interview. It is pretty nerve wracking! We think they are doing the background check and checking references now but I just want to explode with anxiety! We have until Oct 7th to tell the apartment complex we're moving and around that time DH should put in his notice too. Hopefully we'll know this week. Well wishes, prayers, would be appriciated!

Anyway, must get back to studying. This year is really crazy. I am now beginning to realize why they call 2nd year the Hell year. Hope everyone had a great day!

-Becky

Hi Everybody!:)

It was IMAX3 for me today on a 4" step. Great workout -- had to talk myself through it though, as I wanted to stop early... But managed to get through it.

Then spent the day in the kitchen catching up on things that I need to do (I ferment all my own food and make stocks, protein bars, etc). Lots to do. But it's done now -- and should hold us for the next month.

So now tomorrow I can concentrate -- I hope -- on the things my editor sent to me on the new proposal. Yea!

Rhea -- that's great that you got to see your sister -- must've been fun -- and a new sewing machine -- wow! Not that I sew much -- but I can do hems and buttons and some of the stuff on my regalia -- I'm not very good -- but I can do it in a pinch.

How was the massage? Sounds heavenly to me. Hope the workouts were great, too.

Becky -- sounds like this is really a tough year for you. -- Whew! I can imagine being on pins and needles -- waiting -- never fun waiting... But I'm sure it'll turn out well. You have my prayers and well wishes.

Isn't Bootcamp fun? It's one of my favorite workouts -- except for those military terminators. I leave out the jump -- it's the only way I can keep up with them... Oh, and well done on getting the apartment. Again, my fingers are crossed.

Well, it's late -- so must get this done, and get to doing the things that must be done before bed. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get lots more done.

Have a great day tomorrow and terrific workouts!:7

Good afternoon ladies.

Karen, I am utterly impressed that you make your own stocks and protein bars. That is very cool. Also, great job on completing IMAX 3. That one is definitely a challenge!

This AM I did Step Works for the first time. It was pretty fun. I really don't like the step cool downs at the end of some of her old ones though...I'd rather just have that extra 10 minutes of high intensity. Glad she has shied away from that more recently. This PM I went for a 25 minute run outside. I am loving this weather. It was probably in the 80s today. Up until this week it has stayed in the 90s.

Anyway, still stressing out about this job issue. I mean, the process has only been going on for 2 weeks, but I am still stressing out. Hopefully we'll get something solidified in the next couple of days.

Must get back to studying. Right now in Pathology we're going over genetic defects, prenatal/perinatal/pediatric diseases and I don't think I'll ever be able to have kids! I mean, time-wise, I won't be able to until I am 35 and then my risk for birth defects skyrockets! Seeing all of these pictures of terribly deformed fetuses (because most of them didn't survive to term) is really depressing. So, I think I'll study something other than Path tonight.

Hope everyone has a great night.

-Becky

Good evening!:)

That sounds pretty intense, what you're studying, Becky. I know this is going to sound lame, but usually these things work out. You're studying special cases from all over the world and so of course it's going to seem like a lot, but compared to all of humanity -- of course, diet and such helps, too -- but I know so many people who had kids in their thirty's and it turned out just fine. So compared to all of humanity, perhaps those defects are few.

My mom had me when she was 40. Also, many different native tribes had the mother before she got pregnant eat special food. I know one thing in Europe was raw butter from cows that were grazing on newly growing grass in the spring. This was supposed to be like a superfood in the old days, and pregnant women were supposed to eat lots of that kind of butter. I know the native Americans had speciality foods that the pregnant mother would eat, as well, but whatever they were, I think their knowledge has been lost.

I guess it's just that you do what you have to do and usually these things work out well.

Oh, and thanks for the validation on the fermenting foods and such and making my own broths, etc. Just a healthy way to eat -- and since we don't know ALL the ingredients these manufacturerers put into processed food, I figure it's just good to make your own... We all have "kitchen time" in our household.

Anyway, for me today it was Cardio & Weights -- and boy, was I sweating with it.:p Good workout.

Don't know why, but my weight went up yesterday, so I've been drinking lots of water today and taking it real easy on food, in the hopes that it's just water weight that will come off tomorrow. Got my fingers crossed.

Tomorrow is a cardio day and stretch -- I always look forward to this day, as I love Cathe's stretches.

Got my fingers crossed on your DH's job, as well. Particularly since you're all ready to move.

Oh, and I think you're right on the early workouts. I think Cathe has just gotten better and better over the years.:)

Well, I'm off to get ready for bed. Have a great day tomorrow and inspiring workouts.:7

Good morning!:)

Am checking in early as I don't know if I'll be able to log on tonight. Seems like I just checked in -- but that was last night.

Anyway, it was the beginning segment of BodyMax for me today -- really like that cardio section -- and I love the warm up -- and then a stretch with the band -- it's a stretch I rarely do. But it was good.

Have much to do today -- plus, and I dread this -- I have to wash my hair today -- always a hassle cause my hair is so long -- I go as long as I can possibly stand it usually.

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Becky -- hope your studies are going okay -- I answered you in more detail in my last post. But hope all is going well and that you hear back from your husband's interview soon.

Rhea -- hope work it going well -- are you keeping up your workouts, as well as golf? Hope so.

Well, take care, everyone and have a terrific day -- and of course, wonderful workouts.:7

Good afternoon!

Haven't had a chance to check in too much. Lots of court work for me on Mondays and Tues....

Karen - you sound so much like me...I've grown out my hair, it is now about bra strap length. I go two, three and sometimes four days before I "have" to wash it. My hair takes so long to dry that I dread washing it. If I put it in a pony tail when it is when in the morning. It will still be damp in the evening.

Again, I haven't been consistent with my workouts. Some days I'm just too pooped and don't have the Umph to push myself to workout. However, at the doctor's office this last Monday, I found out that I may have a physical reason for the fatigue. My thryoid is enlarged. Explains why I get food/pills stuck in my throat. Also, there have been times where I'm doing the clearing of the throat all the time because I thought something was stuck. Nope, just my thyroid. Tomorrow I get an ultra sound to see what it looks like.

Becky - have you heard about the interview yet? I have my fingers crossed for you.

Well, I supposed I should get back to work. The goal today is to get the Halloween decorations up (ooh, I'm working hard today, huh?)

Wow, where'd everybody go!'

Hope all is well with ya'll and you are not working too hard.

Hi! Good Afternoon!:)

So nice to hear from you, Rhea. I think Becky's up to here (hand just under my chin) with study, and Jeanette's on vacation, so...

Oh, I'm so glad that someone else understands about this hair thing -- usually people look at me like, and your hygiene is what?... But like you, if I were to put my hair in a ponytail in the am, it would still be damp in the pm.

Thyroid, huh? I must admit that I sometimes get pills stuck in my throat, too -- often if I'm having some sort of allergy reaction. Hope it all goes well, Rhea. Seems I remember some nutritional stuff for thyroid, but can't remember off the top of my head. If you want, I'll gladly look it up for you. Would be happy to do it, but don't feel obligated.

It was Supersets for me today -- had ME planned, but didn't feel quite up to ME. These fires are getting to me -- only because they put so much pollen in the air -- it's been three weeks now where I can't really go too much outside cause the pollen is so intense.x(

Well, hope all is going well for everybody. We changed our message machine to play our "monster mash" as a message greeting -- but that may be all I do for Halloween in decoration this year -- I'm awfully busy. But we'll see. I do so like this time of year.

Have a wonderful day, everybody and terrific workouts.:7

Good evening ladies. I can't believe I forgot to check in yesterday. I am getting crazy now with all this studying. We have a test on next Friday. Starting to freak out about that one.

Rhea, hope all goes well with your dr appt. There are many reasons why ones thyroid might be enlarged that are easily correctable with medications.

Karen, ME is a pretty tough one. I haven't done supersets yet but hope you enjoyed it.

Since I didn't check in yesterday, yesterday I did MIS. Today I did Rhythmic Step. I haven't done RS in a while and I really enjoyed it. Time flies with that one.

Oh, the interview...looks like we'll get a date for it mid-next week. His future boss will be out of town on a business trip until then. That's why we haven't gotten one yet. He has stayed in contact with them though and they are willing to pay for him to get his masters degree while he works for them! We bought some GRE books online tonight so he can start prepping for that test. He's really happy about getting his masters...he was planning on doing it anyway, but was going to wait until my med school is done. Now we'll both probably graduate the same year (hopefully not the same day though!)

Must get back to studying. I have a micro quiz on viruses tomorrow AM and I really want to finish watching Greys Anatomy.

-Becky

Hello ladies.

I hope everyone's workout went well today.

I just did IMAX Extreme from the Terminator DVD. Fun stuff. Must get back to studying!

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Busy day for me. My brother-in-law and I drove up to Fresno today for a get-together with some other people who drink whole, raw milk. It was a great thing to do, but Fresno is 3 hours away from us -- on good roads with no traffic -- am so glad that I got my workout in early in the morning.:)

For me today it was IMAX2 -- one of my favorite workouts. Am hoping that the pollen will clear out soon so that I can sprint/run outside again.

Hope the studying goes well, Becky -- and that's great news about your hubby's job -- and getting his maters degree. Wow! Sounds like a really super place to work.

Tomorrow I have Bootcamp planned -- it's another favorite of mine -- and I'm looking forward to it.

So glad that the new workouts will be coming soon.

Well, study well, Becky -- have a great weekend, Rhea -- and hope to see you here soon, Jeanette.

Natalie! Haven't heard from you in a while -- hope all is well with you, as well.

Have a great weekend and terrific workouts everyone!:7

Good morning ladies!

We're back from vacation, actually came back a day earlier as DH has to work on Sunday and he wanted a day to get some stuff done. We may take the Rhino out today too, for a ride.

We had a very nice time with DS, his girlfriend and her son. Aside from a oil pressure sending unit on the truck going out right as we entered the state park! The oil light came on and then showed NO oil pressure. Fortunately, my DH and DS are very mechanical, troubleshot the problem and we picked up a new part the next day in a town we were near. It could have been MUCH worse. We only lost about a quart of oil as it had just happened. Anyway, all's well and we got to see lots of stuff, relax, catch crab, walk, geocache, beach stuff, etc. Good to be back home though.

Interesting, I only worked out once with some weights for about 15 minutes the whole time, mostly just walked and rode bikes a little. I ate pretty much whatever I wanted (cobblers in the dutch oven at night), steak, other snacks, chips, salsa, cookies, much less strict than how I am at home. It was also TTOM for me too. Got on the scales today and didn't gain anything, but I still felt lean all during this time. I think my body likes the less intense workouts (cardio wise) so I'm going to keep them fairly short and fun, like I've been doing. Think the next rotation will be something like a one body part a day rotation, with some short cardio and a harder bike ride thrown in once or twice a week, something like that anyway. Think others have found out that less intensity (cardio wise) works better sometimes for getting rid of body fat. Guess everyone is different.

Sounds like everyone is doing great workouts, sure can't wait for the new Cathe's!

Today's workout was a couple combos from Step Blast and then a couple combos from Christi Taylor's Hi-Lo Heaven. I then added on the abs/planks from SJP. Tomorrow may do some weight work and then our bike club has a Progressive Dinner Bike Ride in the afternoon. Should be fun.

Must go now, great workouts to everyone today!

Jeanette

Hi everyone!

Didn't get to post on Friday because the entire county internet was down, long distance carrier was down too!

So here I am on Sunday, procrastinating. FWY, thyroid is just fine according to the ultra sound person. So that's good. If I could only figure out what makes it feel like food is stuck. I think it is the sinus drainage, but who knows. I just want it to go away. I'm tired of clearing my throat.

Anyhoo. On Friday, DH and I drove our 69 camaro to the Westwood High Homecoming celebrations. We escorted one of the senior queens on the field. It was rather fun. Oh, and I did workout Friday, I did Turbo Jam #1. I've been busy with housework and sewing this weekend. Trying to figure out what I want to do this afternoon, if I can get myself to workout. The sewing keeps calling my name. I sort of want to do Low Max....we'll see. Of course, if I get off the computer, I could do it all!

Have a great rest of the weekend.
