KK's November check-in!

Seems everyone is stressing out during the Holidays. Can't wait for them to be over.

Been in a slump and will continue on exercising next year.

Joey and I will be going to Vegas on the 30th, won't be back until after Jan. 1 sometime. Not sure when, but only for a couple of weeks or so. If everything goes right at this end. We'll see.

Take care, and have a great Christmas and New Year. Will talk again when we get back from Vegas.

Janie

Janie - have fun in Vegas!!!!

Yep, holidays are so full of everything. On top of holiday stuff, we have been dealing with elderly relative stuff. Not enough nutricious food, cleaning their fridge, etc. I wish I had the time to cook for them all the time, then I would know that they are getting their veggies and not all that sugar. (I think DH's dad has a big sugar monster, they eat sweets for breakfast!)

KK - I hope you are having a wonderful Holiday time. Thanks for the e-mail. The pictures were awesome. Is it still cold down there? It warmed up here (well, what we call warm...40s) for a while and this morning it was right back down to the teens. Brr.

Talk to y'all soon.

Rhea/KK,

Lots of things happening the last part of 2009:

We almost put our Molly down Christmas Eve. Molly (our pet) was so sick we felt it must be her time to go. An hour before she had her appt. we decided to wait until after Christmas so everyone could say their goodbyes.

Everyone was saying their goodbyes to Molly at Christmas. So sad, some tears, and many memories because of her. I kept thinking since she smelled so badly it was her Kidney problem, but it really smelled bad, so I checked her teeth and low and behold, she had black around her gums. I thought it could be her Kidney problem but man, I bet it was a tooth problem.

She had a vet appt. Christmas Eve, and the vet told us that they want to get blood and test it to see where she is at with her Kidney disease and that she felt it was her teeth that is the main concern here. But, she will know more after the tests come in. She found Molly has an infection with one of her molder teeth with plack build up, and Mon. they will extract it and give her antibiotics starting today twice a day.

I cringe every time I think that one hour before her appt. to put her to sleep, we called it off. But, I'm sure the doctor wouldn't have just put her to sleep without a final check up. Right?

We are in 7th heaven today, and counting our blessings to have our little Molly with us for awhile longer. We will however, find out more on whats going on Monday. The Vet thinks things will be fine.

Whoo, what a couple of weeks! So much drama!

I need to go, take a hot bath, settle down with Molly, read...Company is gone and now relax time.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas, I know we had the best ever. Joey just now got our mail and we got Shock Cardio. Will look through them tonight. YEAH!

Last night watched all the Shock Cardio yesterday except for only 3: MMA: Fusion, Cardio Core Circuit, and Circuit Blast. Both of the Steps I love and I can't wait to do the Heavy Bag Workout. Been waiting for that one it seems forever. I'll most likely start out with that. All the MMA's look good and the Travel Fit is awesome. We'll be doing that one on our travels and at home. OMG! The Hitt's are fantastic! Just the right amount of time. All the DVD's have fresh moves, or familiar moves placed uniquely where it will get you working hard. A job well done by Cathe and her team and worth waiting for.

Just now finished viewing all the DVD's. Can't wait to get going on them. Will begin these wonderful series ASAP. Tomorrow sounds good to me! LOL

I'm a stickler for detail, and I might be mistaken, but I think, Cathe has a little more on top than normal. She definitely has more makeup (smoother face). That's a good thing, we all need changes sometimes, makes us feel better about ourselves and updated/refreshed. She's always been beautiful inside and out.

We wont' be going to Vegas for New Years, instead we'll wait until March I think. For now anyway, until we know for certain what is going on with our Little Molly.

Joey and I took Molly in the Vet today. Before the tooth extraction because we wanted to see her blood test first. The Vet first looked at her tooth, and said it wasn't that bad at all. Then looked at her blood work and it wasn't so good. He said to be honest, she only has 3-4 weeks at best to live. During that time she wouldn't be able to keep anything down and she would be throwing up what we tried to feed her.

Joey and I knew, now, that it was time to say goodbye. We didn't want her to suffer anymore than she had too.

We took her in our arms and told her how much we loved her, that she is going to go to sleep now and won't have to throw up and feel sick anymore. That she was the bestest dogie in the whole wide world. We asked her when she gets to this really beautiful place, to think of us and know we are thinking of her. Also when it is time for us to go to sleep, to please be there to great us.

She went to sleep very quickly with love all around her. Our Little Molly.

Molly had a wonderful life. She was our traveling dog. When we went hiking, she lead the way, and she would always get us back home. Smart, kind and a gentle soul. She could sit up, that was her favorite trick to get treats. She slept always with me during the night. She was fed her favorite foods. If she was cold we would warm her up, if she was warm, we would cool her down with water. She has a million stuffed animals to bite and shake. We spoiled her with all our love.

Molly gave us joy all the time she was with us. She was made just for Joey and I. And we appreciated her with all our hearts. There will never be another Molly, not ever. This was a once in a life time dogie.

Joey and I need to go to Vegas. It's been really sad around here lately. We will leave Wednesday and be back in a few weeks.

Will check in today from time to time,

Janie

Oh Janie - sorry to hear about Molly. She had a great life and was very loved. ((((HUGS))))) Try to have a good time in Vegas. Wave to me as you fly over Northern California!

I'll probably start a January thread for us, so when you check in, look for January!

KK - I hope you are doing well. Holidays are such busy times, I"ve barely been able to post myself. I'm glad everything is over so I can get on with my routine, well, back to my routine I suppose.

Happy New Year!:)

Good Morning!

So sorry I've been gone from the forums -- Christmas is so busy.

Janie, I am so sorry to hear about Molly. I know what a loss it must be. Pets are a part of the family and they will always be missed. I am so sorry.

Hi Rhea! Thanks for thinking about me. I don't have my STS Cardio yet -- I had expected it yesterday, but it didn't come -- I have to go back on line and find out where it is again. Hopefully, I'll see it today.

Exercise has been off and on for me as I try to get everything done -- plus that weight I'd lost is creeping back. Sigh.

Anyway, have a good one everyone!

Yep, those darn holidays are very busy and then when they are done, we're pooped.

I was going to start up again today, but my body decided that it did not want to, darn intestinal system. I was trying a new colon detox, but I really don't need it I guess. (system was too sensitive to some of those herbs!) I'll just stick with the fiberous food thank you very much! Sorry if TMI! So tomorrow is a massage, I guess it will be a Thursday start for me.

Have a great rest of the day!

Hi all!

I've missed you guys and am wondering if I can start checking in with you again. I hope everyone had a good Christmas, we did here.

Janie, as I said before, I sure feel for you and Joey in your loss of Molly. She was very loved and will never be forgotten. (((HUGS))) to you during this time. I know it hurts so much....

Rhea, hope all is well with you, darn this snow anyway. Have you been sewing? I've been sewing quite a bit, in fact, just picked up a quilt at my long arm quilters house this afternoon. I'm ready to sew the binding on it and it'll be done. It's for my DIL. I'll try to update with pictures. I'm looking forward to golf. DH and I went down to Red Bluff a couple weeks ago and it was sure nice to be in warmer weather to golf. I'm hoping I can budge my handicap lower this year. It never moved from the start. Oh well.

Karen, you are always so busy. How do you have the energy? Wow! Those pounds will come off. If it were up to just working out, I wouldn't have any problems. It's the sweets and salty stuff that's been hard to ignore this year. I weighed myself yesterday, but was only up a couple pounds since last year. However, the body composition needs some help...

I'll be starting STS strength and cardio rotation next week. I got my Shock Cardio and did Circuit Blast this morning. I liked that it was only 40 some minutes long and kept my heartrate up good, but not through the ceiling, which would just give me a dread next time. I'll be doing one of the new step workouts tomorrow so I'd better go preview it.

Talk to you all soon... have missed you.

Good Afternoon!

Hi Jeanette!

It's so good to hear from you again. Of course we welcome you back very much. I've missed you much, too.

Just got my STS cardio yesterday (late in the day). What a pleasure -- 9 workouts. Wow! I, too, did Cardio Blast this morning. I, too, loved the 40 some time. I just can't do those long workouts anymore...not cause I can't -- just time constraints.

Boy, I hear you on the detox, Rhea. I'm sensitive to certain herbs, too, and so have to watch it a bit -- but at least they are very few. You know, almost all these workouts are around 40 some minutes. That really is a good time for me. A little more than what I've been doing -- but not an hour or over.

Janie, hope you are doing well, despite the loss. I do feel bad for you. We've lost a few pets over the years and it's always hard on us.

I have a question -- maybe it's answered on the site, but I can't find it. What does MMA stand for?

Then I'm wondering something else. About 2-3 days ago I did an old FIRM workout -- I think Volume 4 -- the 42 minute one. At the end of it was the 20 questions, which I've always loved listening to because it educates me. Again, I noted that they cautioned against doing obliques with weights as they mention that they can thicken the waist. Now, I mean no criticism here, however, I did notice that Cathe's waist line looks straight -- almost like a boy's. Did you suppose doing all those obliques with weights has thickened her waist -- cause it never looked like that in all her other workouts. Just an observation to see what you might think about it -- maybe it's the angle of photography or something -- but I did notice it.

Anyway, have a super day, everyone!:D

Hey Jeanette! Missed you too....glad that you are coming back to the posts!

I been sewing on and off. Haven't had a lot of time lately. When I'm tired, I just veg. The house work keeps getting in the way too. I'm not sure how much golf I'll get in this year. House to build, ya' know? I'm been obsessing on how to save money for my cabinets, etc. Things can get so expensive.

KK - still dealing with the detox after effects, youch. I'm going to try and get them out of my system today. Oh, MMA is Mixed Martial Arts.

Janie - hope you are doing better today. When are you leaving for Vegas?

Hope ya'll have a great rest of the day. I had better get back to work.

Good Afternoon!

Am checking in twice -- just wanted to see if anyone here might know what MMA means. Thank you so much, Rhea, for letting me know. All these initials and things -- I get lost sometimes.

I didn't know you were building a house. Oh, my gosh. That's awesome! And you're right -- things can get so expensive.

Hope work is going well -- I'm off to do some kitchen work and then back to work work type stuff. Am so glad to have these few days where nobody expects anything of me so I can catch up a bit.

Have a super rest of the day!:D

Good evening,
Watching a little TV tonite, Food Channel and now some golf reruns. Don't have to work tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. Means I can sleep in a bit, then take my time doing a workout. Today was the new Athletic Step and it kicked butt. Definitely higher intensity than any other steady state workouts I've done lately. Not hard to pick up on at all.

Karen, glad you got your Shock Cardio workouts. Was it Circuit Blast that you did? I'm not a big kickbox fan, but I'll have to preview those MMA ones. Maybe I'll be a convert someday? I'll have to check out Cathe's obliques. I didn't notice. She doesn't seem to wear the midriff tops or shorts anymore. Personally, I like shorts as I hate being too hot while working out.

Rhea, that's exciting about building the house. I think I remember it's at Lake Almanor? When will ground be broken on it? Hope your stomach is feeling better. Mine was a bit yucky the other morning too.

Janie, are you in Vegas?

Thanks, guys, for welcoming me back. Means a lot.

J.

Hi there!

Hey Jeanette - who do you have do the long arm stitching? I so want one of those machines. I've used the big machines at Going Batty and just had a blast. "My" room in the new house might be big enough for me to squeeze one in...hehe.

We'll see how tummy is today. It gets the best of me just after lunch. Hmm.

Yep, house will not break ground until about May, when it defrosts! LOL. It is on the 17th hole of the Bailey Creek Golf Course. DH's dream to have a house on the golf course.

Hi,
I'm sitting here at home stalling until my workout (a circuit of some kind).

Rhea, I've used Debbie Hicks (lives by the golf course) twice and like her work. Cindy Gatie turned me on to her. Her rate is .01 per sq. inch plus $20 setup fee. I should take a class sometime in operating one. Think that would be very fun. That's very exciting about your house. I cruised by Bailey Creek a couple years ago, but felt too intimidated to play (at the time). It was beautiful. I'm sure you will love living there.

Will post later on re: my workout. Got to get my lazy butt out of this chair as I do have a lot to get done today. You wouldn't know it though :p.
