KK's June Check-In

Hi Everyone!:)

Just finished doing IMAX2 today -- love that workout -- it went well -- however, I am sore from ME yesterday -- in my legs and hips and again in my chest. But it's all good.

It's back to writing for me. Am trying a different schedule of up early -- write/kitchen work -- then exercise at noon, lunch, get dressed and then back to writing minimum by 3PM -- gives me another 3 hours before supper time. So it's back to it for me.

Have a fabulous weekend, everybody!:7

Hi ladies,
I'm the one checking in late for a change. I had lots to do this morning, carpets cleaned, shopping, laundry, mowed lawns but have most of what I wanted to get done, done. Just have the trailer to clean as we will be moving it out to the woods in preparation for next weekend's black powder shoot. My sister and BIL will be with us tomorrow too so I had to change the bed sheets on the spare bed and tidy it up.

No workout except a relaxing yoga from Shiva Rea. I actually fell asleep twice in it! I think it's a sequence for nighttime and I can see why. It's a lunar sequence. I was going to work upper body on the Bowflex tonite, but think I will do a Cathe workout in the morning instead. Maybe 1/2 hour of cardio and then upper body something. I'll be starting a rotation that Fitness Freak wrote for June. Think it's what I need right now.

Cycled last night with another lady. I really pushed hard on the hill and it paid off in a better time for me. I have a metric century (62 miles) on Sunday with friends and then the bike time trial on Tuesday. Hope my legs aren't cooked!

Rhea, I'll have to postpone golf until after next week as we're getting ready for the shoot and it'll be busy for me. No Wednesday, huh? How are Mondays or Tuesdays? Let me know. I have a massage on the 26th (Monday), so what about the next day, the 27th?

Karen, hope your new workout/writing schedule is working out for you. so you like your Ryka's? Yep, Imax2 is just about my most fun workout, though I need to do it sometime in it's entirety soon.

Must get a move on,

Jeanette

Hi!:)

Wow, Jeanette, you have been busy. That black powder shoot really has me intrigued. Hope you'll tell us all about it when it's over. That is so cool that your sister is coming to visit this weekend...that always means extra work -- but it's for such a good cause. Have fun!

Well, as soon as we have a moment, we're going to get these bikes fixed and operational. I love reading about your rides and it makes me want to get out there. I figure I still have time, though, as the pollen count is still too heavy for me.

That rotation sounds good, Jeanette. Like the idea of 1/2 hour Cardio and then 1/2 hour of something else -- it's great to mix and match.

I think I'm going to do a Tae Bo workout tomorrow. The reason is because I think of all the workouts that I have, his is one that really does seem to trim my waistline -- am a little unhappy with my waistline -- its nothing drastic -- just would like it trimmed a little -- so I'll ad in his workout tomorrow -- and the TJ's, too.

It's a working weekend for me, again. And of course that will be the way it is until this book is finished. But I love the working weekends -- even though I'm working, there's something still relaxing about it.

Just one more thing: had bouts of low blood sugar today -- darn, I hate when that happens. So will watch what I eat this weekend, as well, I think. I really need to cut down on my carbs (breads) as these seem to trigger the low blood sugar phenomena with me -- at least until the body has settled down somewhat. It's interesting -- even with the grains sprouted or soaked, they're still giving me trouble with my low blood sugar. But hopefully it will get all worked out soon.

Have a terrific day, everybody!:7

Hi ladies:

Today's workout was CTX Step and Intervals (really fun, good rocking music) and then a good part of CTX Upper Body. My mom called twice during my workout and I only had an hour to work so had to shorten some of the weight workout, but I had my barbell loaded pretty heavy (for me) and I'm feeling it now, especially biceps.

DH and I have to run to town and get some stuff. We're doing a birthday party/BBQ for my brother tonite so have to get some stuff for that. I'll be cleaning the camp trailer and doing some weed eating too. I'd like to pick up some hens & chicks (succulent plants) for the yard. We'll see. Should be busy as my sister and BIL will be here this morning too.

Karen, hope you get a handle on the low blood sugar. I used to come home sometimes and feel like I was so shaky, I'd go thru the kitchen just about ripping the cabinet doors off looking for something to eat. Guess I eat often enough that I don't have that problem any more.

I did a Tae Bo a couple months ago. Billy kicked my butt! Enjoy!!!

Must go,

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie & Natalie!:)

Sounds like you had a full weekend, Jeanette. Bet you did the birthday party up well. Hens and chicks for your yard, huh? I wouldn't mind having some hens and chicks as well, but I think there's a rooster needed if they're to lay eggs -- I could be wrong, but if I recall correctly from when I lived in the country (I grew up in the country), hens won't lay eggs unless there's a rooster around. Sounds great, though.

My next purchase is going to be the CTX series, I think -- although the next TJ series is ranking right up there, as well. But the CTX keeps cropping up in posts and it looks like such a good series.

I did Tae Bo today instead of yesterday -- had so many chores to do yesterday, that I found I didn't have time to workout when I got home -- barely got home in time to fix supper. Anyway, did Tae Bo today -- and it was great -- I'd forgotten how much I like his workouts -- I'm going to incorporate his workouts a little more often, cause I like the way he works my abs -- last time I was doing his workouts, I dropped about 1/4 inch on my waist -- doesn't sound like much, but for me, at my age, I was quite happy about it.

Anyway, here's what I plan for the upcoming week workout wise:

Monday: IMAX -- the original

Tuesday: Supersets -- really love this workout -- something about working out on that ball that I really like

Wednesday: TJ's 20 minute cardio and one of Cathe's stretches -- it will probably be that one on the ball -- as I'm liking it more and more

Thursday: MuscleMax or ME -- these workouts are in my opionion the hardest of the full body workouts and so I want to include one or the other of them, along with Power Hour at least once a week.

Friday: Sprint 8 -- if the pollen count allows it -- if not, probably iMAX2

Saturday: Tae Bo -- 36 minute workout

Sunday: Off

Weight wise didn't do great this week, didn't do bad -- but at present I'm trying to get a handle on the low blood sugar and then I'll worry about weight -- am not gaining any weight despite eatig losts of fat...knock on wood.:+

Look forward to hearing from you both this week. I wasn't posting much over the weekend as life got busy, and once I got here I realized how much I've missed our chats -- I know we post mostly about exercise, but I do so enjoy this time of day every day.

Have a wonderful day and super workouts.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Today was the start of my new rotation, Muscle Building & Cardio Rotation - June, created by Debbie (Fitness Freak). It was Lowmax premix #1, CTX chest and Pyramid Chest. It also called for Hardcore Chest but I don't own it so left it out. This workout was around 1 hour, which is what I'm looking for. This workout really worked my chest thoroughly, something I haven't done in a long time. Think I will be sore.

Yesterday was a 63 mile bike ride with a couple of friends. Beautiful cool weather, spectacular scenery and good company. I could have used a longer ride as next weekend will be out for riding due to the black powder shoot, but that's okay. My century ride is June 24th and I think I'll survive that one okay. Hopefully, it won't be too hot, nor too cold like last year.

Karen, the hen's & chicks are not real animals, they are plants (cactus like). And with real chickens you don't need a rooster for them to lay. I highly recommend the CTX series. So versatile and I can really picture you using it like I do, bits and pieces and add ons. The cardio and music is short but fairly intense. I'm always surprised by the workout I get for such a short period of time. Glad you enjoyed the Tae Bo.

Yep, the birthday party/BBQ was great. Good time had by all! Tonite we are taking our trailer out to the woods and will be having dinner out with another couple. Hopefully, I'll be able to find something good for me on the menu.

Good workouts to all.

Jeanette

Hi Karen, Rhea, Jeanie, and Jeanette,

I haven't checked in for awhile because I lost the location of KK's thread. I started the June rotation last week but have had a sore throat for the last 3 days so I've had to lower the intensity/time of the workouts. Today's workout is supposed to be IMAX 2 and 300 lunges but I may skip to one of the strength workouts and save this one for later this week hoping that I will feel better towards the end of the week.

My 8 years old son is excited about school being out this Thursday and his cib scout graduation to Webelo tonight.

I've been trying to lose a few pounds over that last 2-3 weeks and think I have managed to lose 3 lbs. No specific plan, just lower carb/good carb kind of thing.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Natalie

Hi Jeanette & Natalie & Rhea & Jeanie!:)

Am so happy to see you here again, Natalie. It's always a pleasant surprise to come in and read your posts. I'm sorry you lost the thread when this was changed, but am glad you've found it now.

I think the low carb/good carb is a pretty good diet -- I certainly know many people who have lost weight on it.

I did IMAX2 today, too. Was going to do the original IMAX, but was tired so I opted for IMAX2 which is always my favorite.

Hope your scout meeting was good -- that's great that your son is excited about getting out of school -- kind brings back good memories, huh?

Jeanette -- 63 miles -- I'm impressed, but you wanted to do more. Wow! Yes, I keep talking about the CTX series and I think I'm going to have to get it pretty soon.

My daughter just emailed me about getting another Cathe kickboxing workout. I told her which ones were out there -- there's Kick Max and KPC and CTX kickbox -- is that all? Is there one that I'm leaving out? Anyway, I recommended these, plus Tae Bo and the TJ's, as well. Really do like what the Tae Bo's do for my waist -- so will probably keep in his workout once a week -- until I get tired of it...:+

Oh, blush -- that's what you mean by chicks and hens.:+

Well, hope you both are having a terrific evening -- and will have a super day tomorrow. Happy workouts eveyone.

Oh, by the way, writing is going okay -- a little slow -- had to go back again and am in the process of fixing something else. Whew!

:7

Good morning ladies!

Hi Natalie, way to go on the weight loss, hope you feel better soon and the cold doesn't get you down for too long.

Karen, that's great about your daughter wanting more kickboxing. Has she been sticking with working out? So great when someone else discovers fitness and Cathe's DVD's are so wonderful to suggest.

Today's workout was Pyramids biceps and triceps and Muscle Max biceps and triceps, and then Muscle Max abs, ending with a nice stretch. Wow, my arms feel worked! Today I have a bike time trial after work if it's not too windy. Yesterday was windy and it's really hard riding into the wind so we'll see.

We took our trailer out to the woods yesterday and then had a nice dinner with friends. I had halibut and it was soooo good! The wine was nice also.

Must go and everyone have great workouts today!

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Your dinner sounds delicious, Jeanette. We had some Orange Roughy tonight and it was yummy, also.

Now, these are interesting workouts you're doing, Jeanette. Hope you keep me informed of the changes you make and your progress.

How did the time trial go, by the way? Bet you did really well.

Oh, I wanted to ask you where you got your weighted gloves -- my daughter wants some weighted gloves for her birthday and I haven't been able to find any.

Oh, and today was Push/Pull -- didn't have a lot of time and so it worked in really well. Writing was hard today -- have had to go back and add a character -- not always easy to write in someone new. But that's okay -- it's just the way it goes.

Have decided to get Trina Kick Max and one of the Taw Bo's I think. And yes, she's been working out at home -- and loves the kickboxing -- so much so I'm getting her more workouts and weighted gloves...:7

A friend just dropped by and so I must sign off here.

Have a super day, everyone and great workouts.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Jeanie & Natalie:

Yesterday's bike time trial was good, though it was very windy. My time was not good, but I went into it knowing that it wouldn't be because of the wind. It was tough, but satisfying when I finished.

Today's workout was CTX Leaner Legs and then the last part of GS Legs floor work. Good workout. I went light on the weights for these.

Karen, I don't have the weighted gloves but I think Target may have them. If you do a search, I'll bet you'll find them. Great to hear that your daughter is working out at home. It's so nice that my DH is now working out. I helped him on the Bowflex/free weights last night.

Tonite we will go out after work and sight in our black powder guns. I haven't shot in a couple of years and need to get my gun sighted in.

Have great workouts today,

Jeanette

Morning!

Sorry been MIA, but this is going to be short too. I've been extremely busy at work. Non-stop between courts. I'm usually so bushed when I get home that I don't want to work out. However, I've managed a couple times and then just hit balls on others. We'll see how today goes. I have to ban myself from the computer so that I can get caught up or my summer will be entirely nasty!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Sorry that your time wasn't good on the ride, but am glad you enjoyed it, Jeanette. Again, I stand in admiration of what you're accomplishing.

Okay, thanks for the tip on Target. I'll check that one out first thing and then go on line and see what else I can find. These workouts sound really, really good -- working all kinds of different areas of the body really well.

By the way, what does it mean to "sight in" for the black powder shoot? Just thought I'd ask. It sounds fascinating.:)

Rhea, am so glad to see you here -- don't worry about posting -- just get your work done -- we're happy to hear from you whenever you have a moment. I may very well be in a similar situation soon as I approach this deadline.

It was TJ's 20 minute workout for me today, complete with Cathe's stretch #1. It was good, however, my hip went out -- as it sometimes does on kickboxing workouts. But hopefully, I'll lay with a towel under the hips and hope that it will go back "in."

Well, it was a good day for me writing wise today. My editor is going to cover conference and wanted a short synopsis of the story -- which was very good for me -- as it made me put my thoughts down on paper -- I'd been fretting over the storyline a little. But now I think I know where I'm going (knock on wood.)

Have a wonderful evening, a terrific day tomorrow and great workouts everyone!:7

Hi everyone,

Jeanette, you biking sounds great. I am always impressed by your endurance.

Karen, hope the writing is going well. I need to go to the bookstore as my current reads are boring me. I'm reading the Lost Painting and I can't remember the author but just not into it.

I still have this darn cough and feel kind of bad. We all went to a water park today as it was my son's last day of school and a 1/2 day and I have diagnosed myself with whooping cough so I think I am stuck with feeling lousy for a few more days. I'm going to try a walk tomorrow and a weight workout on Saturday assuming I am up to it.

Have a great weekend everyone,
Natalie

Hi Natalie & Jeanette & Rhea & Jeanie!:)

Writing went well again today -- am hoping for a good day tomorrow, as well. I figure as long as I can write 7 pages a day, I'll make this deadline. Whew!

The water park sounds like fun, Natalie, but I sure hope your cough is better -- keep us informed, okay? And how is your scout? Bet he's glad for summer vacation, huh?

Am not familiar with that book, but right now, all I have time to read is research, I'm afraid. As soon as I'm finished with this story, though, I'll go back to reading everything I can get my hands on.

My weight was up today -- darn -- and so I've really been watching everything I put into my mouth today. Am hoping it was only water weight and will come right off tomorrow.

It was Muscle Max for me today -- say, that's a good workout -- I did the TimeSaver PreMix which is 56 minutes long -- perfect. And I plan to either do a Sprint 8 tomorrow or IMAX or maybe IMAX3 -- depending on how I feel -- IMAX3 is the hardest -- so I might opt for IMAX or maybe even LowMax. One of those, anyway.

Well, I purchased Kick Max and Tae Bo for my daughter and bought her some weighted gloves as well for her birthday. I'm thrilled that she's really loving the workouts...and wanted more.:7

Well, it's late again, and I must be off and away. Happy workouts everyone -- have a terrific day! And Jeanette, if it's your day off, have a great one!:7

Good morning,

My day off today, though I will be busy once I get off of here. My workout today was Pyramid shoulders, Muscle Max shoulders and then CTX Step and Intervals. I followed up with Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness 30 minute quickie premix. I'd been missing my yoga so glad I got it in today.

Yesterday, I think I forgot to check in and it was also my early day in to work. My workout yesterday was Pyramid Back, Muscle Max Back and then CTX 10-10-10. CTX is great for combining cardio with split body parts as the time can be done in less than one hour and get a good workout in. Also had a ladies night bike ride. We did 26 miles at a fairly easy pace as one of the ladies had climbed Mt. Whitney on Sunday and was still recovering from the fatigue.

Will be leaving for our black powder shoot this afternoon after DH gets off work. Karen, sighting in your gun is practicing at a target and adjusting sights or yourself to hone in on the target. I put my gun in some cross sticks to keep it steady. Took my 4 shots to hit the center of the target. I'm not that great a shot, but I like to do it.

Natalie, good to hear from you. Hope the cough is better now. My post nasal drip is finally gone, think so much is in bloom and that affects it. Enjoy the water park.

Rhea, hope things get less busy for you. We rode by the golf course yesterday and I thought about you. So beautiful yesterday too.

Karen, hope your hip is feeling better. I too like Muscle Max a lot. Been getting to do it more on this rotation. Glad you got the gloves for your daughter. Maybe someday you two can work out together. That would be special, wouldn't it. Way to go on the writing.

Must get a move on, lots to do.

Jeanette

Hi Everybody!:)

Thanks so much for clarifying that for me, Jeanette. Someday, I'd like to do that, too. It really sounds like a fun time -- especially with people dressed in costume and such.

Those workouts are really interesting -- you do one body part a day, huh -- so far from the Pyramids and Muscle Max and then the CTX series -- and yes, it's going to be my next purchase -- as soon as I can get the money put aside for it. So glad you got in the yoga, too, Jeanette.

Oh, that would be special -- to work out with my daughter some time. Well, at least she has these new workouts coming to her -- I'm just glad that she's enjoying it.

Today was my day off, too. Got started this morning late and then had so many things to do in the kitchen and then we watched some previews for the new movie coming out in July by Aaron Russo -- and by the time that was done, I realized that I'd better take the day off today, cause my writing time had dwindled away. So...

It was Interval Max for me today, and I was proud of myself for making myself do it -- didn't have as much sleep last night as I would have liked and so I didn't really feel like doing it -- but I pushed myself and I'm glad.:7

Tomorrow I plan to do Tae Bo -- like I said, I really like his abs workouts. Oh, the hip is okay now -- that was sweet of you to ask.

So...have a wonderful weekend, everybody -- have a great Father's Day -- terrific workouts and a great time at the Powder Shoot. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, Jeanette.:7

Hi Everybody!:)

Just a quick post. Weight is back down, -- yea! -- still have a couple of pounds I'd like to get rid of, but I'm not pressed on it.

Did Tae Bo Circuit today -- forget if it was #1 or #2 -- the 36 minute one. It's one of my favorites -- again, I like his abs routine -- I seem to see results with his abs workouts.

Have a terrific weekend everyone. Am thinking about you, Jeanette, and your black powder shoot. Have fun!:7

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Time to post next week's schedule -- can't believe I almost went to bed without doing that -- I almost always look at the week ahead Sunday evening.

Anyway, my weight is up and so I'm unhappy about that and have gone back to almost strictly low carb until it comes off and then I'll look at other diets. In the meantime -- here's what I plan next week.

Monday: IMAX2 -- just to start the week off with a bang and with a fun workout

Tuesday: ME

Wednesday: TJ's 20 minute cardio or a walk outside -- being under deadline I'm hardly ever getting outside and I figure I do need some sunshine now and again -- then a stretch -- probably with the ball which I so totally love

Thursday: Supersets -- really love this workout for some reason -- I think again, it's the ball

Friday: IMAX3 -- it's time to do that one again -- on the 4" step, I think

Saturday: Either Tae Bo's Circuit workout -- or maybe the FIRM's Calorie Killer with Nancy Tucker or some other circuit type of workout.

Sunday: Off

Jeanette -- hope your weekend was fun -- thought about you on your black powder shoot.

Have a terrific day everyone and wonderful workouts.:7
