KK's December Check In

Good Evening!:)

Time to post this week's rotation. This week is going to be a busy one, as I have only 5 days to answer and handle all the copy editors questions, plus all the Christmas rush stuff and getting things to the post office. It'll effect my workout time, I'm afraid.

Anyway, here's the plan:

Monday: Drill Max -- Scrambled Cardio Blast -- 46 minutes

Tuesday: Bootcamp -- full workout

Wednesday: Cardio of choice and a stretch with Cathe.

Thursday: ME -- haven't done this one in a while and so I'm putting it back on the rotation -- however, it's a little long and so if needed, I might do Supersets -- if rushed on time.

Friday: D-day on the manuscript -- IMAX2 -- maybe only 8 rotations if pressed on time

Saturday: Cardio & Weights -- am loving this workout more and more

Sun: Off

I may be finished with the work I've been doing with my friend, Tricia. Not sure yet, but if so, it will free up my weekends a bit.

Have a great day everyone and super, effective workouts.:7

Good morning Karen, Becky and Rhea:

Hope everyone is well and getting their Christmas shopping and decorating done. We got our tree on Saturday. It was a fun family outing.

Yesterday was StretchX, no bike ride for me. Elected to take a rest instead and stretch out my sore muscles. Today's workout was Chest and Back and I made progress on this one. Also did AbX. A tough core workout for sure! This is the 4th time I've done this ab workout and it doesn't seem to get a whole lot easier. I did better on my pushups though.

Karen, know you have your nose to the grindstone with your deadlines. Too bad they are at this time of year but you do what you've got to do.

Hi to Becky and Rhea!

Jeanette

I bet you ladies thought I dropped off the face of the earth!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Not only was I studying like a mad woman last week, but I also had a bit of a virus...so I didn't get to work out much really.

I am done w/ my test and I have off until Jan 2nd!!!
Saturday I did Bootcamp. Meant to workout on Sunday, but I guess I am a bit deconditioned after my sickness and I was really sore, so I took it easy.
Today I did Step Blast.

Now I must go do some Christmas shopping. Haven't even started yet! (But my house is decorated. :) )

Hope you ladies have a wonderful day.

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Well, I got some things accomplished today, but not enough. Worked on the manuscript, but also got the final bit of my Christmas cards sent. Yea! This copyeditor, by the way, is good to work with...knock on wood. I think I'll start requesting her on a regular basis.

Today it was Drill Max for me -- the Scrambled Cardio blast. Had me sweating. Tomorrow is Bootcamp, one of those workouts that I love to hate.

Jeanette -- I'm really intrigued with these workouts you're doing. How long is the StretchX? Sounds like you're right on track.

Becky -- so good to hear from you. We sort of figured you were in "mad-woman mode," trying to get everything done -- and then to top it off, you got a virus. But glad to hear that it seems you're all back to normal.

Wow, sounds like you two are either in the Christmas spirit or are quickly catching it. We have our tree up, but it's not too hard for us, as our tree is live and we have him come into the house every year. And our decorations are up, too -- early for us this year.

It is fun to get the tree up, isn't it?

Well, it's back to work for me. I'm barely into the manuscript. Have a great day, everyone and super workouts.:7

Good morning,
Today's workout was PlyoX, which was 58 minutes long. I love this workout. Really sweated good and had the moves down much better than last week. Lots of balance and core work on this one too and I find it is not high impact for me. I bought a thicker mat and that helps tremendously.

I heard back from a heart rate monitor company and they said the digital HRM's work better with TV interference so I ordered one from Timex and will try it near the TV. If it doesn't work, I'm sending it back.

Karen, StretchX is 57 minutes. All of these workouts, except YogaX (92 minutes) are under an hour, which I like a lot. Wow, Drill Max and then Bootcamp. You are really hitting it good! Glad you like your copyeditor.

Becky, glad you are getting over that virus. I have a slight scratchy throat. Thought it would develop into something further last night, but woke up feeling good.

Got the Christmas tree up last night. Have to bake a cake tonite for our lunch tomorrow at work. Will also do some decorating. I'm running late.

Good workouts,

Jeanette

Good morning!:)

Am checking in a little earlier today than usual -- no real reason except that I've been online this morning and decided to check in now as opposed to evening.

Yes, it was Bootcamp for me today -- always a workout I enjoy, even though I sometimes dread starting it.

Jeanette -- hope the new heart rate monitor works out well for you. And these workouts are all under an hour -- except for that one -- that is good for me, too. I so seldomly have time to do more than an hour workout a day.

Making a cake sounds wonderful. Have a great time doing it, Jeanette!

Hi Becky and Rhea -- Becky, my last post answered some of the things you mentioned in your last post. Hope that you and you DH are enjoying this time together.

We may again have a full house for Christmas -- hope so -- it's always fun when there's a lot of people.

Have a great day, everyone and terrific workouts.:7

Just a quick post since I've already posted today.

Workout for tomorrow is a cardio of choice -- probably one of Cathe's cardio workouts -- and a stretch, probably on the ball because I love those stretches on a ball.

Hope you're doing well, Jeanette and Rhea and Becky. :)

Am signing off for tonight and hope to be in bed soon. Good night everyone.:)

Good morning,
Today's workout was P90X Shoulders and Arms. I was pretty excited because I increased weights on almost every exercise. This plan does give you the freedom to increase weights easier because the lifting is not choreographed. You pick your weights and reps. You aren't having to keep up with someone else. Think that has held me back. My muscles really pumped up while doing this workout today, WOW!

Karen, hope Bootcamp was good for you. My, it's been a long time since I've done that one, but will revisit it in the future, I'm sure. We'll be having my sister and her family come for Christmas. Should be a big crowd on Christmas day at my mom & dad's house. Think we have 25 counted.

Got to run, have a prime rib/turkey lunch at work today. Will stick with the turkey and veggies. Lots of water as it's TTOM for me too.

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

It was some cardio and a stretch for me today -- the cardio was from BodyMax the original -- love the warm up in that for some reason.

Well, I've got about another 130 pages left to do...this copy editor is a little hard to work with, after all. Darn. But hope to get finished with this tomorrow -- don't know if I'll finish it on time to send back to NY or wait until tomorrow, but at least it's getting there.

Jeanette -- that workout sounds really interesting -- it seems different -- you're not keeping up with someone else? -- interesting how that must be -- but wow, the results you're getting... I am going to have to check these out.

Hope Rhea is okay -- have you heard anything from her?

And I know that Becky is probably catching up on things after all the homework and such.

Sounds like a great lunch there at work. I have to start planning Christmas dinner, myself. I won't have anywhere near 50 people here, but we'll probably have 9 people, including 2 children. It's still quite a few for me to cook for.

Well, it's ME for me tomorrow -- although I might go to a shorter workout depending on the time. If I can, I'd love to get this done and sent off.

Have a great day and some more terrific workouts.:7

Good morning,
I stayed home from work today as this cold is finally progressing, lots of phlegm, yuk. No bad sore throat. Tomorrow is my regular day off so hopefully I will be past the worst of it by the time the weekend is over. My sister is coming to visit for Christmas and I would like to be well for the holidays.

Today's workout was supposed to be YogaX (90 minutes), but I subbed with Bryan Kest's Power Yoga - Tone (54 minutes). This is a beautiful workout and I love his voice and speaking. I like the length of it too. Hard to do the 90 minutes of YogaX, but I got a good stretch and some upper body work too with the down dogs and chatarangas. There are also some poses that have my legs shaking. Did AbX last night from my computer (16 minutes). Was easier doing it apart from the strength workout and I just didn't have time. That's one reason I installed a DVD player in my computer, so I wouldn't hog the TV from DH and could do a routine (one requiring little space) in the computer room. Anyway, worked out good and I was able to complete this tough ab routine with better form.

Karen, no, in these strength workouts you do the reps at your own speed. There are a few background exercisers and each one picks the # of reps they want to do and then they do it, some showing modifications with bands. I'm trying for 12-15 reps, while usually the guys are going for 8-10 reps for building mass. There is usually always enough time allotted without having to hit pause. I like that it is NOT choreographed so you feel you can try a heavier weight and not be slower than the lifter. Think this is what has held me back from progressing with heavier weights, the fear of not keeping up with Cathe. Just my musings on the subject for now. Sounds like you are progressing with the editing. That's great and know you can do it.

Must go now, will be sure and drink lots of water for my cold today.

Jeanette

Hi ladies.

The days just seem to get away with me and before I know it, I forget to post.

Yesterday I did Push Pull for the first time ever. That was fun.
Today I did the 48 minute premix on Cardio Blast.

Don't know what I'll do tomorrow (except do know that I must put up the lights on the outside of the house if I want to even be in the running for our apartment complex's patio decorating contest)

I am also prepping for a holiday cocktail party on Saturday. When we lived in Pensacola before (2 years ago) we had a tiny 650 square foot apartment. People had us over...there was just no room to have anyone over at our place! Now our apartment is over twice that and so we are having all of our old friends over. It should be fun (especially playing doubles tennis on the Nintendo Wii)

I hope you get better Jeanette.
Karen, good to hear you are keeping up with your workouts.
Rhea, is work more busy or less busy with the holidays?

Must spend time with DH. We are watching season 2 of Lost on DVD. Love that show!

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Well, I didn't workout at all today -- and almost forgot to post because of it. Went to bed early, got up early and finished the copy edits. Got the whole thing sent off to my editor -- and then relaxed tonight.

Tomorrow, however, is another day and now I have to do all those things that I was putting off. Whew!

Plan to workout the rest of the week and weekend, since I took my day off today.

Jeanette -- here's a wish for you to get better very quickly. Not fun being under the weather during holiday time. Am glad that you got in the Power Yoga and that you were able to work out in the computer room. My room is small and so filled with things that I don't even think I could do the stretching here...

And thanks for telling me about how it was done on the workouts. I was trying to envision the workouts without having someone to mimic and I couldn't come up with it. Now I see. Wow, great concept.

Becky -- so nice to hear from you again. Sounds like you are still super busy. Isn't Cardio Blast great? Love that workout.

And a cocktail party. Oh, how I'd love to have the opportunity to dress up...hardly ever do, however.

Rhea -- hope to hear from you soon. Hope all your tests came up with flying colors.

Okay, so tomorrow I'm planning ME, a hard one for me, just to kick into the workouts again after having taken the day off.

Have a great day tomorrow, everyone and super workouts!:7

HI all....

Just a quick post to tell you I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I had a post on Monday, but lost it and then our internet is out with a virus on the main server. I'm not supposed to be on any websites that are not work related while they clean up everything. So I'll have to catch up with you next week. (tests were fine, just gastritis which has really been bugging me lately, oh well.)

Have a great weekend and great workouts!

Hello ladies!

I got the outdoor lights put up today! Yippee! I have been procrastinating about that one.

Today I just did a 30 minute run outside. It has been in the mid to upper 60s here and I wanted to enjoy the weather (plus I had time constraints). I don't know what workout I'll do tomorrow. Whatever I do, I need to incorporate abs...have been bad about those. Really, I've been bad about lots of stuff lately...must be the break...not in my normal schedule.

I have been enjoying break. I really needed the relaxation time.

Must get back to DH now. We're making a gingerbread house tonight. :)

-Becky

Wow, getting on late here. Was my day off today, but DH and I had lots of errands to do.

Did Legs & Back from P90X and Abx. Great workout and I was really sweating it up.

Karen, hope you enjoyed ME today. Thanks for the well wishes on my cold. Don't feel too bad, just have some coughing.

Rhea, glad to hear the tests were okay. Hope your internet service gets fixed. I'd be lost without mine.

Becky, bet the lights are pretty. Hope you win the contest.

Must go,

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

It's great to hear from you, Rhea. I know I shouldn't -- think it's the mother in me -- but I was a little concerned. So it's just really good to hear from you and really great to know that your only trouble is gastritis.

Becky -- well done on getting those lights up -- and a gingerbread house -- doing it with your DH -- what fun. Sounds like a lot of fun, actually. And you do deserve the break, that's for sure.

Jeanette -- think you have your sister coming into town -- so enjoy -- the holidays are so good for getting this sort of warmth in your life.

Oh, ME really kicked my butt today -- almost didn't finish those biceps -- and I did the shortened premix which is about 50-52 minutes or so. It's one I need to keep doing at least once a month, I think cause again, it just really kicks my butt.

It was good to relax today and get things done that have been building up cause my weekends have been taken up helping my friend, Tricia, with a drug program. But that's complete now and so I have my weekend ahead of me to get things done -- mostly need to wrap presents and get them sent out quickly. Then get things wrapped for all those here locally. Plus, I think I need to get a good idea of what kind of food I'm going to serve on Christmas.

Anyway, have a terrific weekend everyone! And some super workouts.:7

Good morning!
Workout this morning was KenpoX, with my new HRM. Worked just fine with the TV. Get this, calories burned was 383, though I don't think that's right at all. When you set it up, it only asks for your weight, not age or gender or anything else. I'll use it only for comparison purposes. My other HRM (M32) said I barely burned over 200 on a Cardio Coach workout and I know I work harder on those than KenpoX. Loved KenpoX though, and was able to bring it better this time. Think DH would like this workout if he ever gets back to exercising.

Have some housework to do today. Cold and cough is a LOT better, wasn't even a factor while working out this morning.

Karen, hope you get your gifts wrapped this weekend. That will probably be sometime next week for me. I'm a terrible procrastinator.

Hi to all!

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Did IMAX2 today -- got up early for a Saturday for me -- it was 7AM -- and did IMAX2 and then started my day early. Because I've been working all weekend long for the past 2 months or so, I am very behind in many things -- and so I wanted to get started and get as much done as possible.

Even still, I barely cracked the surface of what needs to be done -- but then I have tomorrow, as well.

Jeanette -- so glad that the heart monitor is working despite the TV -- even if it says the wrong calories, as least it's working with it. By the way, what is KinpoX? Interesting name.

Have you seen the Cathe calendars -- I haven't been to the blog for a while and so hadn't noticed these. Looks like something I'd like, actually. I might just go over and see how much they are.

Becky -- hope you and your DH are having a great weekend

Rhea -- hope your weekend is going great, as well. By the way, have you ever heard of the Bob Beck prodical? Hmmm...that spelling doesn't look correct.

Okay, well, it's late and I'm off to spend time with hubby.

Have a great day tomorrow.:7

Good afternoon,
Posting on here late. Did the group bike ride this morning. Felt pretty good for it. It was probably mid 30 degree weather with slight tailwind starting out. 4 of us riders today. Was a good ride. I did notice that my legs got fatigued. Could be because of my Leg workout on Friday and then KenpoX yesterday. Anyway it was a good ride. I'm going to do a Cardio Coach this week on the bike (in the house). I've been concerned about not getting enough cardio in, but don't think I really lacked anything today. It was more like the legs were tired.

Karen, good for you for doing Imax2. Love that workout too. Yes, I ordered a calendar. Have just the right place for it too. Wonder when they are arriving.

Got to go, hi to Rhea and Becky,

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Sounds like a fun ride, Jeanette, despite the way your legs felt -- you're probably right and the workouts fatigued the muscles a bit. By the way, what kind of workout is KenpoX -- sounds interesting.

Oh, so you have the calendar coming. This is something that I should have, as well, I think.

Didn't work out today -- have spent almost the entire day in the ktichen -- preparing things -- getting thing fermenting, etc. Easy stuff to do, but time consuming.

Hi Rhea and Becky!

Here's the plan for this next week.

Monday: Drill Max premix again -- the 46 minute one.

Tuesday: Either Cardio & Weights or a Low Max premix

Wednesday: Some form of cardio and a stretch.

Thurs: MuscleMax -- probably the TimeSaver premix

Fri: IMAX3

Sat: HSC -- a prmix I think -- TimesSaver probably

Sun: Off

I might do a short workout Monday morning cause we aren't expecting company until noon -- but then again, it'll be a busy kitchen day for me and so maybe not.

But this is the plan. Now to get those presents wrapped to send out tomorrow.

Have a terrific day everyone and super effective workouts. :7
