KK's August Rotation

Hi Jeanette, Rhea & Natalie!;-)

Wow, your DH originated going for a run with you. I'm impressed. And you are so good to pack everything before hand. That is so cool. I know you two will have fun.

That's quite a bike ride that you have coming up. I bet it will be utterly beautiful -- lucky you. I'm still in the stage of getting my bike prepared to just go out on the road.

Okay, so I did the 51 minute HSC today, just to compare it to the 32 minute one. I really like them both. I must admit that I can't do all of the calf raises. That's something I'll have to work on, I can see that. And I couldn't do all of another exercise either. Truly, I think that the weight sections of this workout are more difficult than HSTA -- but the cardio sections in HSTA are tougher than HSC, I think. I don't mind the leg presses. I like the results I get with leg presses -- but then my behind needed some lifting:eek: and that's about the best exercise out there for that, I think.:p

Tomorrow is going to be a sprint day for me -- or if it's too hot, I'll stay inside and do one of the IMAX's.

Just ordered two more books -- goodness... One is about milk and raw milk and the other one is another health one -- oh, about how to determine your metobolic rate -- and what you should eat as a result to get and keep weight off -- took a short test on this yesterday over the net -- and it seemed fascinating -- so I'm really looking forward to these books.:D

Just finished reading the children's book, THE WITCH, THE LION, AND THE WARDROBE -- it's coming out in a movie and so I thought I'd read the book first. Fascinating book. This particular author was a writer at the same time as Tolkien and according to things I've read, the two of them were friends. Really good book.

Well, I'm going on and on, aren't I? I'm procrastinating on my revisions -- there's something my editor wants and I don't know how to do it yet -- got put it on the back burner -- sigh...:(

Okay, so I'd better sign off. Have a really terrific weekend, everyone and have some good workouts.:7

Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been so long since I have been here. This week has been quite the saga. I had an abnormal mammogram a few weeks ago and had 3 biopsies this week, one on Monday and 2 on Wednesday. Also, my husband was out of town on business and I was on call for my practice and for medical examiner. I have the first biopsy result which was benign and I expect the other 2 to be as well but I won't know for sure until Monday or Tuesday.

I had to skip some on the upper body work on the August rotation and I was just too wiped on Wednesday to workout at all.

I did HST + KPC abs today and feel I am finally getting back to myself. If I could just get these steri strips off! Man, they are sticky.

I am going on vacation starting next Wednesday so will have to cut this month's rotation a bit short. I plan to pick what looks most fun from the remaining days and then it's Disney World and and Disney Cruise.

Natalie

Hi Natalie & Jeanette & Rhea!:)

Natalie, keep us posted on those results -- okay? This sort of thing can be scary -- but it looks like you're facing up to it really well -- I bet they're benign, as well, but pop on and let us know, okay?

A vacation at Disney World -- Florida -- sounds like really fun -- I'm on the other side of the continent -- we have Disneyland here -- but I haven't been to it in quite a while -- used to get season passes -- but the price went up so much...haven't been to it since they did all their renovations -- don't think I spelled that right.

Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was a bit traumatic -- my brother-in-law fell at work (one story) and fractored his foot and the bottom of his spine. So it's been a busy weekend, but not necessarily a productive weekend.

Anyway, did 12 sprints on Saturday -- a total for a 50 minute workout. Today, it didn't look like I was going to get one in, so I went into my stash of exercise videos and pulled out Nancy Tucker's Calorie Killer -- it's only 38 minutes -- and so I got that in right before dinner.

Anyway, thought I'd come on line and post next week's rotation plans. So here goes:

Monday: IMAX2 -- just cause I love it so

Tuesday: ME -- these two workouts are my favorites

Wednesday: 30-40 minute cardio, plus stretch

Thursday: Power Hour -- haven't done this one in a while

Friday: Sprints (outside) at least 12 -- more if possible

Saturday: KPC -- this is one really good workout. -- this will be my "long" workout for the week -- I think it's 70 minutes.

Sunday: Off

Further plans are to get my bike fixed and ride with my hubby -- take the dogs with us on the ride on Sunday morning -- it would be great to do this together, I think.

Well, have a great one -- Terrific workouts everyone:7 And Natalie, keep us posted.:p

Hi Natalie:

Glad you are feeling better. Sure hoping that the biopsies are all fine. I went thru a little of that 3 or 4 years ago. Not fun, didn't have to do the biopsies but still the anxiety was not good.

Enjoy your vacation!

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

It was High Step Challenge for me today. I really like this workout, it's fun. My weekly rotation will be the same as last week:

Monday: HSC
Tuesday: Lowmax
Wednesday: HC Extreme workout of choice
Thurs: Kickmax
Friday: 30 minute run with corework
Saturday: Bootcamp
Sunday: Rest

Friday night my DH and I went running and he did real well, even pushing the pace for me in the 2nd half of the workout. It was great. I'm hoping it's his idea again to run once again this week. Will see. Saturday was a rest day for me, with housework. Sunday went on a bike ride (72 miles, with 4 climbs) with a few friends. This one was a tough ride due to temps in the 90's, but we all encouraged each other and finished just fine. My girlfriend's husband went too. He's an excellent cyclist but for some reason he just didn't feel well during the ride and suffered on the climbs. He thinks it was dehydration. He said he's never had such a bad ride, but he stuck it out anyway.

Karen, I loved reading the Narnia books and was soooo excited to read about the movie coming out. Thanks for the heads up!!! I tried to download a trailer but my computer wouldn't open it. Hope you can get the bikes going and ride with DH.

Think this will be a busy week for me. Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Good morning all!

Natalie - yes, please do keep us posted. I'm glad to see that so far everything is okay. My step-mom went through a tough time with chemotheraphy and may have something in her back now.

Well, Karen and Jeanette, you two have sure been keeping busy and on track with the workouts. I've been very lazy. Yesterday was the first workout for me in a while. I did a FitPrime one...the Flex Posture. More of a yoga/stretch tape. But I do have a few sore spots today. My goal is to keep up the easier workouts for now until my body gets used to the cleaner eating. Need more water too.

Well, got to get back to work. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Rhea & Jeanette and Natalie!:)

Oh, Jeanette you reminded me how much I like HSC, as well. I might change my Thursday workout from Power Hour to HSC. It is a fun workout -- really works my calf muscles -- it's the one exercise I can't honestly complete.x(

Hi Rhea -- so glad you're getting back on the exericse track, and are feeling good about it. I,too, need to drink more water -- something I'm really striving to do.

I keep wondering -- I'm going on tour soon -- what in the world am I going to eat?... I eat almost all organic and lo carb and now I'm eating foods as raw as possible -- with the exception of meats. I think I'm going to have to bring my own food...

I'm getting these 6 new books on diets and exercise, but have been reading a bit as well, and I've decided after the little bit of reading I've been doing to eat not only lo carb and fairly clean, but I'm going as raw as possible. Switching to raw milk and cream, raw veggies, raw fruits -- supposed to be really good for your nutritionally, as well as it should hopefully help keep weight off. I know a fellow personally who beat his cancer by eating all raw foods. He told me this years ago, and I still remember him talking about it. At the time, I remember thinking I'd never be able to do that, but now I'm actually beginning to eat raw, too. Can't ever imagine eating raw meat, however. But raw veggies, fruit and malk I'm hoping will be a good place to start.

Well, tomorrow is one of my favorites -- ME -- and I guess I'd better get to bed so I can get up early and get started on the day with a boom.

Have a really good one -- and terrific workouts, everyone. :7

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Hope all are feeling well. It's TTOM for me but I still feel great and not worried about the extra water I accumulate during this time. Good workout this morning with Lowmax.

Today I have to drive to Redding for an examination (work related), not looking forward to it, but guess I'd better do it. I asked DH if he wanted to get out this week and do something and he said he'd like for us to go jogging and take the dogs out again tomorrow. Love to hear that. So much better when it's their idea.

Karen, I like HSC also, it moves along pretty good. So much variation we all have, don't we? How could I get bored? The tour will be starting soon for you, won't it? Did you get your laptop fixed? Hope so as I sure would miss not getting to hear from you!!!

Rhea, glad you are working out. Good for you to listen to your body and do what suits you, otherwise it's just not fun. And it really does have to be fun for me to consistently do as I'm basically kinda lazy...

Natalie, keep up posted on your results, wishing you the best. We're with you girl!

Good workouts,

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette, Rhea & Natalie!:7

That is so cool that your husband is wanting to jog with you. What a great activity to do together. Way to go, Jeanette.;-)

I'm going to have to start adding Low Max to my workouts -- both you and Jeanie -- remember Jeanie -- love Low Max. And yes, I really like HSC -- it's weight work challenges me -- I can't do all the reps on some of it -- which makes me push a little harder.

Did ME today -- how I love that workout -- and how good I feel after I've done it.:7 My weights are basically staying the same on this workout -- I didn't quite get enough sleep last night, so I stayed with the same weights.

Keep us posted on the check up. I hate them, too, but I'm sure it will all be okay.

Hope you are doing well with your workouts, Rhea. And Natalie, I've been thinking about you. Hope you can come on and post before you go off to Disney World.

Tomorrow is a cardio day for me and stretch -- I always look forward to the stretch. Plus, I have to buckle down and get these revisions done. My brother-in-law is doing better, so this is good, too.

Anyway, one more thing I thought I might do (as long as I don't bore you silly) is keep a diary of foods -- I don't know -- I noticed Jeanie doing this and it seemed a good idea. When taken altogether, it seems I actually eat a lot.

Breakfast: Left over roast beef (about 4-5 bites) plus several cubes (about 1/4 in thick) of raw cheese.

Mid-morning snack: 2 scoops home-make ice cream -- made with raw milk and cream and no sugar -- sweetened with stevia, with 1 tbls of homemade chocolate sauce (cocoa powder, milk and stevia).

After workout: 1 egg plus about 5 cheese cubes

2:30 lunch: Cheese and grapes plus two or three walnuts -- about 10 - 15 grapes or maybe as many as 20. One piece of Ezeikiel bread and raw butter.

4:30 snack: Made protein bars -- had about 1 protein bar while fixing it.

5:30 -- free green drink filled with nutrients and psyillum.

7PM supper -- Italian beef roast (about 1/8 - 1/4 lb) and salad with tomatoes, red peppers and cheese chunks. Dessert was 1 plum and 2 bites of protein bar.

Gee, I seem to just eat all day -- little meals -- but a constant thing of eating. Oh, well...

Have a great day and terrific workouts, everyone.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

It was supposed to be HC Extreme, but since I don't own it, I did Imax2 intervals 1-5, Lowmax 4-7 and Bootcamp kickbox cardio only. Good workout, though it took me a few minutes to get into it. Supposed to go jogging tonite with hubby. Probably do 1/2 hour run.

Karen, your eating sounds yummy. I absolutely love cheese, but have to just not get started on it, then I want a Triscuit and before you know it, the box is gone and 1/2 the block of cheese too.

The test in Redding was so-so. Could have been a lot better but I was pretty nervous and really didn't have a lot of the answers they wanted to hear. Maybe in a few years I'll be better prepared and take it again. I'll get my results in 4-6 weeks. Nice drive down to Redding anyway and good trip back.

Good workouts everyone.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!

Am posting early -- interesting posting what I'm eating -- I didn't realize I was eating so much until I looked at it. Anyway, went up a pound instead of staying the same or going down -- so upon looking it over, I think that I had way too much cheese. I, too, love cheese, and I think I overdid it. These cheeses have alot of fat in them and I really do have to watch how much fat intake I have.

So I'm not going to give them up -- their cheese made from raw milk -- but am going to cut way back on them -- just a little note on this.

Did 2/3's of the cardio from one of the early cardio workouts -- I think StepFit of something like that -- good workout -- then I settled down with a stretch from StretchMax.

What sort of test was this, Jeanette? I thought is was physical, but it sounds like it might not have been. I never set much store in tests -- they're only a test -- and can always be changed -- they don'e live and breathe.

Well, gotta get down to these revisions -- I'm really procrastinating...

Have a terrific day.:7

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!

In light of trying to eat clean and keeping track of it -- I never realized I was eating so much -- I'm posting today's food diary. Sigh...

Breakfast: 1 egg and about 5 or 6 raw milk swiss cheese cubes

Mid-morning snack: green drink with psyllium and apple fiber and knox gelatin

Lunch: Homemade Protein bar -- this really filled me up. About 3-4 walnuts and about 8 grapes.

Mid afternoon snack: Another protein bar.

Dinner: Baked Chicken & zucchini (raw) with vinegarette and seseme seed oil -- also had tomatoes and red pepper and green onion in it -- all raw. Dessert -- 1 bite of protein bar --just got some bio-active whey -- tastes good and makes a great protein bar -- no additives or artifical sweetners or flavors or coloring.

Water: About 8 glasses of water -- I actually need to increase my water intake.

Okay, that's about it -- my last post was about the workout -- which was first thing in the morning and great!

Have a terrific day.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

It was a mixture of Kickmax and KPC today for 1 hour (including stretch and warmup). Good workout. Will cycle tonite with a girlfriend. Think it will be a fairly easy ride (mostly flat). Last night, DH and I ran for 30 minutes, good workout too.

Karen, the test was an oral interview consisting of 7 analytical questions. It is for the next step in my promotional line, Associate Govermental Program Analyst. Not many positions for it here at the prison, but just covering the bases. Retirement is about 8 years away and it'd sure be nice to have this classification before then. Anyway, it's behind me (the test, results will come in September). I was just glad the test didn't come during our vacation, which is in September.

Karen, your food intake sure doesn't seem high. Neither is mine. Discouraging because it seems like the better shape we're in, the less we can get away with. I too need to really concentrate on upping the water intake. I will be with you in this today!

Well, must go now.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:)

It was Power Hour for me today -- I was thinking about changing it to HSC so that I get more cardio -- but I went for a walk shortly before the noon hour, and when I got back, I didn't really feel like doing cardio -- Power Hour was very good -- a really good workout -- it's fun cause the music is so fun. Not a speck of cardio in it, though.

Felt good afterwards.

These revisions are taking their toll on me -- can't seem to focus as well as I'd like and so they're going much more slowly than I would like, as well. Oh, my computer is definitely up and running (my laptop) so hopefully I will be able to still keep in touch -- keep a kind of tour diary, as well... What isn't up and running yet is the DVD player -- which I really do want to be up and running so that I can take all my Cathe DVD's with me -- then I don't have to rely on memory or something.

Things are going pretty well, my brother-in-law is better.

Oh, Jeanette, I so dislike those kinds of tests, too. Thank goodness it's over. How did your bike ride go?

Well, tomorrow is a sprint day -- up early so that I beat the heat -- once that sun is fully up...x(

Although I'd much rather do an IMAX for my anaerobics day, I do want to keep up with the sprints because these will probably be my form of anaerobics while on tour -- I do have IMAX3, but I find that workout tough.

Well, happy workouts everyone. I guess Natalie is by now at Disney World -- probably having a terrific time.

Have a great one.:7

FOOD DIARY:
Breakfast: Green Drink with psyllium, knox gellatin, apple fiber and stevia.

Mid morning snack: Homemade ice cream -- no sugar -- made with stevia -- with Homemade sauce-like chocolate protein bar as a chocolate sauce

Lunch: (after workout) 2 eggs & about 10 cheese cubes -- some were cheddar cheese -- all from raw milk, plus one freshly made protein bar

Midafternoon snack: a few bites of protein bar

Supper: Some hamburger with onions and green peppers/the rest of the protein bar -- a few bites of vingarette veggies left over from last night

Mid-evening snack: Just made some homemade ice cream -- hard to resist not having any -- when first made, it's like soft-serve

Good Morning!

Haven't been around much, too much work and not enough time to play. :-(

Well, looks like everyone has been keeping up with some sort of rotation. I managed to start back up this week. Been a little tough. I think I've either been detoxing or just plain wore myself out with vacation and the Boot Camp rotation. I've slowed it down to working out every other day for now and am doing slower AWT and yoga fusion type workouts. As I do those workouts, I think, "way too easy" however, the next day I have some DOMS, especially in the gluts. So maybe they are more isometric type exercises, then add the yoga stretching and the muscle gets a good workout.

Today is day off since I have a massage this afternoon. Yippee! I'm looking very forward to it. Tired of the headaches in the afternoon from muscle tension.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning Rhea!
So good to hear from you. Glad you are working out. I'm a bit tired myself, but not too bad. Was supposed to do 1/2 hour run today, but DH and I ran on the Biz (started at Devil's Corral and ran uphill) for 1/2 hour on Wedn. night and my neck is a bit sore from that so didn't want to run again so soon. Did Bootcamp/ME bonus combo. This is a great workout. I have Bryan Kest's Power Yoga and I remember getting a good workout from those videos but that was before Cathe so not sure how I'd feel about the intensity now. I'm remembering that some of those poses took a lot of strength to hold and my legs would be shaking so know something good was happening. If you'd like to borrow them sometime, I'd be glad to lend them to you.

A massage sounds wonderful. I have one scheduled in September, after my century ride in Yreka. Looking forward to both! Take care, Rhea.

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Late start on my workout today. Horseshoer came at 8:30, but he's gone now so did Bootcamp/ME bonus combo. This is a really good workout. I was supposed to do the 1/2 hour run today, but my neck was a bit sore from running with DH on Wedn. night and thought I would listen to my body (for once) and give it a break. Karen, I think Cathe is really cute and bubbly in ME, makes me smile even while I do the low ends. I was also really wanting to do some weight work too.

My bike ride with my girlfriend was good yesterday. We did about 21 flat miles (for a change), but the wind was blowing some so it was a workout coming back. Not gusty, just steady. I also got a flat tire about 1/2 mile from her house (the starting spot), so she rode back to her house and got my car and came back and picked me up. Normally, I'd fix the flat right there on the side of the road, but we were so close and I just didn't feel like it (back tire too). Just sat by the road and waited for her.

Have some shopping and errands to do today so will sign off.

Karen, good job on the eating, sounds very tasty, bet the ice cream is good too!

Jeanette

Hi all!

Well, it's been a bit of a sad day for me. I think I lost one of my cats -- Midnight. Can't find him anywhere and he didn't come home last night. Don't know what happened to him -- no sign of a struggle -- didn't hear anything -- no cat hair -- no body -- he's just gone.:-(

Been calling for him all day -- did manage to do IMAX the original -- was going to do sprints, but spent most of my morning calling for Midnight.

Eating went okay today -- think I'm either detoxing from the whey protein that I bought -- or I'm allergic to it.

Well, anyway, have a terrific weekend, everybody.

Hi Karen, so sorry to hear about your cat, hope he comes home soon. I'll be thinking of you.

Jeanette

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Karen, didn't hear from you yesterday. Sure hoping you got some good news on your cat. Our critters are like family too.

Did a 1 hour cardio of kickboxing from CTX kickboxing and KPC, the combos. It was fun and a good workout. After that, DH and I went to breakfast and then on to Eagle Lake for some relaxation (along with the dogs). It was nice, except this guy came over with his little dog and talked and talked and talked and talked so we never got much quiet time by ourselves. Think he was pretty lonely. He did bring us a freshly caught and cleaned Eagle Lake trout that we BBQ'd last night. It was wonderful.

Off for a bike ride with the local group today. Sure hope there are some slower people I can ride with as my usualy riding partners are busy today. Next weekend, we may be going camping so won't be able to get a long ride in before the century on Sept. 10th. Will have to make the one today count.

Hope everone's weekend is good and Karen, will be thinking of you.

Jeanette
