KickMax - does Cathe have on weighted gloves?

Are those weighted gloves or just black wrap? If they are weighted, how heavy & what is the best place to buy them?

Thanks.

In KickMax Cathe's hands are wrapped. You can get the wrapping at any sporting good store. There are people who use the weighted gloves and I'm sure they'll give you the info on them.

OK, thanks. I was just wondering if I've been doing the w/o to the "max" as is or if I should be pushing harder by adding weight.

Does anyone do KM w/weighted gloves or light wrist weights?

I have the same questions and have been meaning to post here about them! Thank you! I am wondering what kind of results people have had using weighted gloves. I also want to know how heavy to go and where to buy them. :)

I use 2-lb hand weights in my kickboxing workouts. :)

I wear weighted gloves for all my kickboxing workouts, and, I have trouble keeping my heart rate in its training zone even with an extra one pound on each hand. I mix up running, step and kickboxing for my workouts, and I do better running or stepping on an eight inch step.

I originally bought those 1-pound loop-around hand weights at Target and they worked okay, but I bought the "Yoga Burn" kit at Target also which included some great gloves...they're actual gloves and you add little weights in the pockets (in 1/4-pound increments, up to 1-1/2 pounds each hand). Admittedly, it's kind of an expensive idea if you don't like yoga, particularly Rodney Yee (the kit was $20, which includes the gloves and a DVD), but I just love the gloves! :)

Sunny, I got my gloves at a sportsman's store in Minneapolis years ago. Galyan's I think was the name of it. They are black ones with that adjust 1-2 lbs/glove. Your fingers go in the little holes...which I'm surprised to learn many people do not like this kind. I like mine, a lot!!

I have tried several different types of gloves, and prefer the 'ironwear" gloves (soft, weighted rubber resistance, with weight evenly distributed between palm and back of hand).
I got my first pair at Target years ago, and also picked some up at the Reebok factory outlet, and found some online.

"Ironwear" makes them for several other companies (Reebok, also used to make them for Janis Saffel), so if you look up "ironwear hand" or 'ironwear glove" on a net search, you may be able to find them.
