Kickbox Fusion review

The kickboxing type workouts always deliver a punch. This workout was nicely paced with interesting combinations. I definitely worked up a sweat and loved so many of the moves such as the hook, jump knee move. That felt exhilarating. Burpees are no longer my thing so i definitely appreciated the alternative squats. Subbed three of these then stood up to fit with the musical beat. Time just flew by and i really felt my muscles. Final exercise when it came, however, I didn't like the tap kicks. I didn't like them so much that I wanted to do more of them - that move really challenges you and Cathe keeps you working right to the very end of the workout!

Cathe, this workout definitely has the wow factor!

thank you

Just did this one and the gloves make a big difference with the burpees. I like that Cathe gave us a couple of water breaks. I can't pick up my thermos with the gloves on. I added on the balance workout. I should be doing this one daily as my balance is not so good.

Finally tried this workout today. When comparing to her other kickbox workouts, this is definitely her easiest, and I did all the high impact moves when they came up. Like most of the other cardio workouts in this series, she keeps the high-impact moves very brief, so I feel like this workout is one that is designed to keep you steady in your aerobic zone, period. Not much anaerobic work, which I'm sure some people will appreciate.

This will be another "light day" workout for me, to use if I'm coming out of an illness or injury or have been inactive for a prolonged period of time. Or, on those days were I'm just like "I don't wanna do something hard!!"

I'm not much of a kickboxing fan, but this was good. I don't care for punching drills, but she does good combos and I improvise a bit.

I haven’t gotten around to doing this one yet. My interest in kickboxing workouts declined when kicking disappeared. I’m not singling out Cathe. It’s a trend I’ve noticed across the board. I don’t want to box. A kick feels powerful, athletic, and fun. Ilaria Montagnani and Tony Horton capitalized on that in older workouts

I like the kick too..... There are kicks in this new LMR2E..... it's less intense but it does get the job done.

I buy many of Kelly Coffey-Meyer kickbox workouts. We got a heavy bag recently so I bought a few of her boxing ones to go with. She commented in the intro to one that she was moving away from including much kick-box because she found too many people's kicking form was off and potentially dangerous. She said she wasn't comfortable showing kicking moves anymore since she couldn't correct watchers' form to keep them safe. I think kicking ups the intensity. But I've found the heavy bag helps up the intensity of boxing too.

Yeah, this one has some kicking in it, but it's not at the intensity of say, Kick Max or Kick, Punch & Crunch. Most of it stays grounded, for instance.

Forgot to mention I used boxing gloves for the first time with this workout, too - got a pair from the clearance sale.

Not sure how much I'm digging having extremely sweaty hands during my workouts. That, and funny as it may sound, my leggings I was wearing weren't the best fitting and they tend to start slipping down (I'm not talking a full moon situation at all, but they just get annoying), and it's really difficult to readjust your pants with boxing gloves on!

I can see the benefit of them adding just a tiny little bit of extra weight to challenge your arms and shoulders, though. Glad the gloves were so inexpensive with the clearance sale - I won't feel guilty if I snub them more often than not.

I almost always use 1# (sometimes 2#) handweights or egg-weights for shadow boxing - the kind where you slip your hands through a handle for better grip, or the egg-weights which slip on a finger so they don't go flying. We got Cathe's gloves on sale to use with the bag and her workouts like Gloved Up & Sweaty and the LMRE2 Kickbox Fusion. But I don't care for the sweaty hands to use them throughout a workout, so prefer the handweights. I now only use the gloves for the heavy bag work cuz I don't like that sweaty glove feel. We also bought a bunch of LIVES during the sale that included heavy bag work. I really enjoy the heavy bag work with the gloves.

I have very small hands and haven't found gloves small enough, so I use wrist weights instead.

Never thought of that. I've got wrist issues, and now the base of my thumb acts up too, so I'm going to see if gloves make a difference. Thank you for the idea. :)
I do not experience wrist issue at this point therefore never felt the necessity to purchase a pair of gloves. Burpee is still a fun healthy challenge for me. Reading some of the comments, the risk of sweat in my hands would be a real disruption in the middle of fun! It is a no for me.:D

That said I see myself needing one when I get a heavy bag.

For now a pair of micro load feel sufficient for me. I could add some wrist weights.

Today was the 2nd time doing this workout. I don't have boxing gloves but use the 1 lb micro load gloves I've had forever when Cathe first offered them years ago. For me, they work great. I'm unable to do the burpees right now, so I modify. I modify a lot to make workouts work for me.
