Kettlebells?

Dave Whitley's Power Circuit mixes traditional KB moves with moves like squat thrusts, Hindu pushups, jumping jacks, bodyweight squats, etc. It has 3 workouts on it....one 10", one 25" and one 40" (approx). No warmup or cooldown stretch. It has some music that isn't that bad.

Thanks for the info, Lora!

(What is it with KB workouts without warm-ups? I get annoyed--and am rather uninspired--doing warm-ups on my own. I like that Anthony Deluglio and Steve Cotter put them in, though they don't have ending stretches--maybe the thought is that since many KB moves work flexibility, there's already a sort of 'built-in' stretch?)

I'm interested in ordering the Power Circuit DVD, but can't find a site that lets me preview it. Do you know of any? I'm looking for a new DVD workout that's as challenging or more challenging than AOS Newport or Keith Weber's Extreme Kettlebell Cardio.

Thanks!

I don't think it's harder than Keith Weber's (that's a nonstop killer ...love it) and Newport.....but I guess it's all in what you put into it. At least the segments are long enough to work you. Can't remember how long, but at least a minute or two. I hate Sarah Lurie's....cuz her segements aren't long enough to challenge me....but Keith & Anthony's are.

Kathryn - that annoys the heck out of me about KB workouts. The only one I have that even includes a stretch is the Goddess one and Keith Weber's has a very short stretch at the end. I also love Anthony's joint mobility warm ups.

Has anyone tried the Turbulence Training Kettlebell Bonus workout with the Smoke Drills....running on the treadmill and alternating with Swings? I might try it this weekend.

Thanks for the info.! I haven't tried the Turbulence Training workout, but it sounds awesome. Is it a combination of sprinting and swings, or do you run more slowly to recover from the swings?

I've figured out a way to get through the Sarah Luri workout. During the 30 second breaks I alternate burpees, box jumps, ATG (A$$ to grass) squats, and squat jumps with a light barbell on my back. That way I'm good and winded when it's time for the KB exercises again and it feels like more of a workout. Otherwise, it's pathetic. }(

I haven't tried Turbulence Training but I do something similiar outside in my yard. I go running and then I'll do 15 swings, 15 crunches and 15 squats with a kettlebell and then run again. I repeat this pattern for 30 minutes. It a heck of a workout. I have done it running about 600 meters and then running about 200 meters.

I got the Kettlebells Unleashed TT workout when I ordered Turbulence Training last week. They had a special with a bunch of extras and the KB workout was one of them.

Basically, the Smoke sessions are running a track 1/2 mile (or treadmill) (medium pace) and then 40 seconds of swings. The swing intervals progress each week from 40 seconds to 45, 50, and 60.

The second Smoke Session workout involves ladders. You start with 45 yard run (however long that is....I don't know) and then you do 5 sets of KB cleans each side then 45 yard run and then a 60 yard run plust KB deadlifts x 15.

I might try the first Smoke Session this weekend on the Treadmill.

This thread is dangerous for my budget LOL. I have Iron Core Vols 1-2 (which I didn't like at first, but now I really do!!), and I just checked out The Kettlebell Way To Your Perfect Body (I love Beth, but I'm always a little leery of celebs doing a fitness video) and this looks solid! I wanted to get the Art of Strength Providence already, but I like the fact that, as Kathryn mentioned, this has a tutorial and a warm-up, so I think I may lean towards this one.

Thanks for the reccos, guys!!

I have been using The Kettlebell Way for couple weeks now and I like it so much more than Iron Cores. Definitely gets my heart rate up.

FYI: Providence has a warm-up as well (but no tutorial).

Okay now I'm interested in Kettlebells myself. I am an advanced exerciser. Which dvd or online store would you think is my best bet??

TIA :)

But isn't that KB workout with Beth and Anthony the same as one of Anthony's other workouts (providence) with a different instructor?
