just a warning about PLB....

I did PLB yesterday for the first time, and I can hardly walk today!!! I feel it most in my hamstrings and a**. I didn't even use the amount of weight that Cathe uses, and it seemed very challenging to me. And, like I said, it came back to bite me today.

I lift weights regularly, but this workout was unlike anything I've ever done before (I've never done a pyramid-style workout). I really enjoyed it, and I can say that this one shocked my lower body. I took today off as a rest day, and will try PUB tomorrow for the first time. I absolutely love this series.

p.s. Cathe recommends in her suggested rotation for "Body Blast" to follow PLB with the 1st 5 intervals of IMAX 2, but that wasn't going to happen.

*Any suggestions as to how long to do the Body Blast rotation?

This is just me, but I thought I would follow the Body Blast rotation for 8 weeks. I base that on what Cathe said (Behind the Scenes) as she was creating the foundation for Intense Series. I figure she did this for a few weeks then when you add on the rehearsal and then the actual video, I figure this was about 8 weeks of doing these workouts. ??
I'm also watching my diet by drastically lowering my starches based on Cathe's diet.
In addition I'm throwing in some jogging on the treadmill and perhaps more cardio as I like to workout 2hrs a day. I hate my abs and hips. I'm hoping this rotation will shake things up a bit..or off...:D :D

I was wondering if anyone is going to do this rotation and maybe have a check in thread? :D

I really love this new series!!

Wanda

Hi Wanda,

I'm doing the "Total Body Blast" rotation so if you're looking for a check in partner I'm willing to check-in with you.

I too found PLB to be unlike any previous lower body workout. I've never been sore that long, my muscle soreness actually did not completely leave me until maybe yesterday (4 days later), and truthfully, I think my hamstrings are still a bit sore but I've just gotten use to it now! I used 5# heavier than Cathe, and worried I was going too light! Thank goodness I did!

Hi Donna & Wanda, Just a question? What is the "Total body Blast " Rotation? Is that with the Intensity Series?

Thanks!! It sounds GREAT----

Linda :)

I just asked Cathe today how long to do this rotation and she said as long as it feels good and your making progress. Some can only handle a week others longer. Listen to your body ! Susan

Janice..............

I think what made me so sore was the increase in reps. If you think about it, 12+10+8+10+12= 52, and if you're using fairly heavy weight I guess it's just a lot on your muscles. Then again, it could also be that there is a lot of leg work in this series, whether it's from the cardio or using weights, your legs get a lot of pressure.
It felt better yesterday when I did PLB, my hamstrings aren't as sore as the first time through, so maybe still it was just getting use to a new workout?
