Jogglers October!!!

Nice! Well worth changing your routine for! Glad you had a nice run!

Hee hee hee I went out for a joggle even though it was supposed to be a step day. The concept of following any choreo was daunting so I just ran. Out the door. Bye! See Ya!! I collected two hawk feathers, saw a snowy egrit (spl?) and juvenile turkeys.

Tricia ~ Enjoy your rest day!

Alisha ~ Nice finds on the run today. Yup...joggling is so easy on the brain.

Hi Cindi!

Snowy egrits are only seen in the south and are usually served with breakfast. Snowy egrets are gorgeous though :D Glad you had a good run!

I'm taking a rest day. I made those cookies yesterday. I only burnt one batch and thats cause I forgot to set the buzzer. Over all they are great cookies. I only ate one, I really behaved myself :D I put in a roast beef over night on real low and I just had a bite of that for breakfast.

Have a great day everybody!

Good Morning!

I got up early and ran 12 miles this morning! It was really hard due most likely to the heinous workout I did yesterday but it's in the books!! Saw a dead raccoon and snake on the run but it was overall a very beautiful morning...nice and cool.

Alisha ~ Good job on the cookies! Roast beef...yummy!!!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I've been a lazy bum! DH and i went and whacked golf balls on the range yesterday, then played a 3 par nine hole game! That was hysterical! I only "learned" last year as you may recall, but I'm still not very good! Only got 2-3 games in last year. No practice until yesterday! We're having fun though! I plan to practice more in the spring next year before the season kicks in and, hopefully, I'll get better!

Today, I've done nothing. DH went for a run. We got up so late and I was hungry! That's what we get for staying up so late last nigh! Definitely working out tomorrow! I have Pure Strength on the agenda for tomorrow - not sure which, I know it's upper body though.

I started previewing the Insanity DVDs. Want to be sure they all function properly before I start so there are no surprises! If I need any replacements, this way, I should have them before I start my rotation.

So that's been it for me!

Jane - You are making me look really bad! Dang, 12 miles today! Wow!

Alisha - I'm glad the cookies came out well!

Hello Cindi and Lisa!

I didn't do anything today other than haul three puppies 300 miles then I continued on to Hatteras with my gang. I didn't get much sleep last night, so I'm going to catch up on that and I'll get in a workout tomorrow.

I went for a joggle this morning. I went on map my run and I'm so slow. Those hills are killer. Its kind of embarrassing, I'm glad that only the rabbits and birds are up at that hour.

Hi Tricia- I never did learn the game of golf, the idea of hitting a ball thats not moving just doesn't make sense to my juvenile brain, I'm sure that it is a very tough game because I have seen folks (we live just over the hill from a golf course, Tiger has been here, I wonder who he slept with:p) break their clubs over their knees.

Hi Lisa- Sleep well.

Hi Cindi!

Jane- That sounds like an awesome run. I hate seeing dead things, I usually just whistle and pretend its not there. Silly.

Alisha - That's too funny! My brother got mad one day on the golf course years ago (I was tagging along) and got mad on a hole and threw his club up in the air. It got stuck in a tree and he had to climb up to get it. He paid for it - big time! He got chased by a bunch of bees! LOL!

I don't plan on taking the game that seriously. Just something else for fun on recovery days!

How far was your joggle? Don't worry about pace, just getting out there and running is a great accomplishment in my book! Hills are awful! Plyo work is the only thing that helps make those any easier!

Hi ladies,
Today I rode (also won 2 out of 3 beach races and stayed on while jumping falling saddlebags while cantering through the woods :) and walked the pups. That's it.

Alisha - I don't understanding hitting a ball of any sort so you are still several steps ahead of me.

Tricia - Hi :)

Hi Cindi and Jane.

Lisa

Good Morning Jogglers!

I didn't have time to check-in yesterday but I took a rest day. They transferred my friend from the hospital to a rehab center so I had to run over there and bring her some things. Then I got home and went to stay with mom for the night as she is having some fatigue from the chemo last week.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today but I'll let you know once I decide.

Tricia ~ I remember my dad taking me and my sister to the golf course to play 9 holes. It was comical. I think par was 27 and I shot in a 63 or 65. It took my sister and I about 6 strokes to get to the green. A couple of years ago I went to a driving range with my BIL and actually did well. I prefer miniature golf though. Starting in 2002 or 2003 my parents and 2 of my sisters would go to Myrtle Beach each year to have a mini-golf tournament. They have over 50 mini golf courses. The last time we went was in 2006 and then dad got sick so we stopped going. We are planning a trip back there soon. The have tons of outlet malls there too so it was nothing was shopping and mini-golf.

Lisa ~ Good job on the beach races. It sounds like fun!!

Hi Alisha and Cindi!

I'll bbl.

Good Morning Everyone!

Hi!

I plan to do Low Max later this morning. I have to figure something out in my software.

Catch ya later!

Alisha

Hi ladies!

Busy weekend for us here at the Perrine house. Honor and David left for D.C. Saturday morning at 4:30 am! They got home around 9 pm last night and had a great time. I don't know how people managed without cell phones! Getting their texts and pictures was so nice - just to know they were safe and having a good time. There were about 40 8th graders on the trip and 3 chaperones.

For me - Saturday spin class, then a bunch of organizing projects around the house and a trip to the container store. Then Paul, Pete and I went to the movies to see the Owls of Ga'Hoole. Better than I expected!

Sunday - church, then more organizing, then Paul and I drove to Iowa City to see my dad Monday morning.

Monday - visit with Dad, drive home, make cupcakes for teacher's lunch today.

Busy busy!

Dad is just ok. He's very weak and somewhat confused. He knew me but got a little confused when he asked me my age, then asked how old he was. His talking is pretty garbled and he still has a feeding tube because he can't swallow effectively so his risk of choking is very high when he eats. Mentally (as far as his bipolar) he is stable, just cognitively he has dementia. They don't think it is Alzheimers but some other form of dementia. They are waiting for more tests and trying to keep his nutrition up so he'll gain weight and get stronger. At some point, I suspect they'll want to move him to a longer-term care facility - hopefully he can go home eventually, but the doctors weren't too hopeful. :(

Running and weights today while Honor is at Tennis.

Lisa - Your beach races sound like fun! Glad you didn't go flying through the air!

Jane - Sounds like a very busy weekend for you! I hope your mom is feeling better today! What a wonderful memory of mini-golf with your family! Yes, Myrtle Beach is the Mini-Golf Capitol! Maybe, a close tie with Panama City Beach, FL! I hope you get back there next summer! How is your friend doing? Recovering nicely I hope!

Alisha - How was LM today?

Cindi - You were very busy, too! I'm continuing to keep your dad in my prayers. I'm glad he was able to recognize you. I'm sorry the docs aren't full of better news. Have a great workout!

I've been so slack! Plan to get back on track - again - tomorrow! I kept waking up every 10-15 minutes from 2:00 a.m. until 5 a.m. and decided not to get up. I was exhausted just from always thinking it was time to get up!

Everyone have a great night!

Cindi- I'm so sorry things are hard for your Dad. I wish him well. Things are not easy for the bipolar individuals, my grand mother had that. But, on a happier note, I'm so glad Honor got to have fun on her field trip!

Tricia- Low Max was harder than I had remembered. ouchie, my butt.

Jane- I hope your friend is doing well today. What workout did you go with?

Lisa- I think that following dogs around (leading them? idk.) and going for a ride both qualify as an active day.

Hi Everyone,

This is what I decided to do today. A short but effective workout.

30, 25, 20, 15, 10 reps of:
Prisoner High Steps
Swings
Squat Jumps
Push ups

Cindi ~ {{{HUGS}}} I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I know what you are going through. I will keep you, your dad and your family in my prayers.

Tricia/Alisha ~ My friend is doing well although she is ready to go home. I don't blame her. She had physical therapy twice today. In order to go home she has to be able to do 30 leg lifts. You can only do about 6 one leg and none on the other leg. Her bad leg was just bone on bone. So she definitely has some work to do but is motivated to work hard.

I'm so tired tonight. I never sleep well when I'm at mom's. I get up at 4:45am to go home and shower and get ready for work.

Hope everyone is having a great evening!

Hi ladies! Thank you for the support. (HUGS) to you!

Jane - Hope your friend gets better soon - sounds like she has a ways to go.

Hi Alisha!

Lisa - I forgot to mention how fun those beach races sounded!

Tricia - did you work out today? I hope you are getting some sleep.

Ran about 4 miles yesterday with regular walk breaks. Heel was pretty stiff this morning but feels fine now. I won't run again for a week to see how it recovers.

Then I was going to do some weight work at the gym but half way through just didn't have the desire to keep going, my legs were fried. I need to find a better add-on leg workout after my Monday runs. Something more endurance focused - off to Runners World website!

Weights tonight. Upper Body.

Good Morning Everyone!

I had planned a jog this morning but due to hrm battery fail I'm taking it as a rest/yoga day. I have taken the watch apart and I will be replacing at the local Radio shack and I will have it back in working order by the end of the day. They want 40 bucks for replacing the battery, can you believe it? sheesh.

I don't normally jog on Thursday's because its trash day. yuck. thats not a confused face, its a puke face.

Cindi- I'm glad your heel is getting better. I love the Runner's World website.
I am awfully sorry about your Dad.

Jane- I hope your friend is feeling a bit better today.

Lisa- I sense a doggle in your future.

Tricia- Hi!

Hi ladies,
Yesterday I walked on the beach (~3 miles) with a friend and Ben. Then we rode out to the beach so the visitors bureau could take some photos and video to use in advertizing campaigns. It involved a lot of trotting and cantering in a close group (these horses don't like to crowd together) and smiling the whole time. It was interesting, we had fun and I guess they got the photos they were looking for. Luckily the rumored helicopter flyby didn't happen. I can only imagine the trainwreck that would have happened if a helicopter tried to buzz over close enough to us for a photographer to take pictures.

Yes, the beach races were fun. Chip definitely has a good set of wheels. Rumor has it that his grandsire was very successful in pony races in his day. Appaloosas are actually popular racing ponies in the west and southwest.

Today I'm going to do some sort of workout and I might ride this afternoon.

Alisha - I hope you get your HRM back up and running.

Cindi - Glad you got a good run in.

Jane and Tricia - I hope you both got a good night's sleep last night.

Lisa
