Hi ladies!
Busy weekend for us here at the Perrine house. Honor and David left for D.C. Saturday morning at 4:30 am! They got home around 9 pm last night and had a great time. I don't know how people managed without cell phones! Getting their texts and pictures was so nice - just to know they were safe and having a good time. There were about 40 8th graders on the trip and 3 chaperones.
For me - Saturday spin class, then a bunch of organizing projects around the house and a trip to the container store. Then Paul, Pete and I went to the movies to see the Owls of Ga'Hoole. Better than I expected!
Sunday - church, then more organizing, then Paul and I drove to Iowa City to see my dad Monday morning.
Monday - visit with Dad, drive home, make cupcakes for teacher's lunch today.
Busy busy!
Dad is just ok. He's very weak and somewhat confused. He knew me but got a little confused when he asked me my age, then asked how old he was. His talking is pretty garbled and he still has a feeding tube because he can't swallow effectively so his risk of choking is very high when he eats. Mentally (as far as his bipolar) he is stable, just cognitively he has dementia. They don't think it is Alzheimers but some other form of dementia. They are waiting for more tests and trying to keep his nutrition up so he'll gain weight and get stronger. At some point, I suspect they'll want to move him to a longer-term care facility - hopefully he can go home eventually, but the doctors weren't too hopeful.
Running and weights today while Honor is at Tennis.
