Its a new month!

I was super sick last night. I must have caught a bug on Wednesday at work. I'm feeling a bit better last night. Seriously, thought I was gonna die. Anyway. This is ttotm week for me and I normally take it easy anyway. I'm just so tired but I'm tired of being tired because its been like 3 days of tired. Bleh, tired is so boring, and well tired. I did not do yoga yesterday, I was too busy being sick. No time foh dat! :p

I hope to do my yoga today. I want to go for a hike tomorrow. I've been looking at the forecast. Its coolish through Thursday but we see our first triple digits, of the season, on Friday/Saturday.

Tentative rotation:
Sunday: Trance Dance Yoga with Shiva
Monday: Hike + Solar Yoga
Tuesday: Liquid Grooves (tai chi)
Wednesday: Hula Abs/Buns
Thursday: Belly Dancing
Friday: Frying (not a workout just a state of being in 101 deg.)
Saturday: Frying

Heres to a workout and healthy eats filled June:cool:

Happy June!!

Saturday I was up at 4am to make the drive to Alma, GA. I love this race so I don't mind getting up early. The race was fun but it was hot. It was in the low 70's at race time with humidity around 90% and it was sunny. The course is a mixture of sun and shade. I didn't feel all that good starting out. I felt tired starting out but after the first mile felt better. My friend caught up to me right before the 2 mile mark and I was taking a walk break. She told me to get moving so I started to run again. I didn't see her at all after that so she gave me the push I needed. I PR'd the course and did about 20 seconds better than last year and over 1 minute from 2011. I didn't think I was going to place because there seemed to be a lot of older ladies there. I managed to snag 3rd place in my age group so I was happy. My friend got 2nd in her new age group. In between the race and the award ceremony we walked to the festival and I got 3 more blueberry plants and 24 pints of blueberries. We gave 10 pints away and I froze the rest. They came out to $1.83/pint which is a great price.

On Sunday I ran 5 miles and did 50 reps of the following: tire flips, deadlifts, swings, push ups, sit ups and barbell presses. Then I spent the rest of the day at mom's house.

Tonight will be a leg workout.

Alisha ~ I hope you feel better today. Take care of yourself and get some extra rest. We are in the 90's now and will probably stay that way for the next couple of months - until September at least.

I can't believe it's June already.

Hi Tricia!

Alisha - Sorry you were so sick! Glad to know you are on the mend! I know how you feel about being tired all the time. Me, too! Tired and out of breath. It sucks and I'm trying to do something about it!

I worked out Friday and Saturday, then had golf yesterday. I think 2.5 hours out in the sun and 80+ weather is enough of a workout! We went to the outlet mall because i have no shorts that fit and I had to buy 10s! I haven't worn 10s since my 30s! Ugh! Not going to last long! I swear! Stephen had to get another pair of jeans because he's down to one pair that fits. We're both in terrible shape right now!

My plan is to run tonight and hit the grocery after. I'm out of salad stuff and that can't happen! It's supposed to rain and thunderstorm later, but we shall see. If we don't have storms, I'll run. If we do, I'll come home and do something.

Hi Jane! Hope you had a great weekend!

Its a Monday

I'm doing 5 miles this morning jog/walk intervals, then its off to work to measure doors (all day long). I will do Lunar Yoga this evening before bed.

I need to do a meditation to get my old 'I don't want to workout' resistance out of my head. Its dumb and an old association (lets just say PE was not a good experience for me.) and its not even true anymore (Love Cathe and running.) but I think that old association is holding me back.

Tricia- Poor Stephen, I hate being out of shape, we should make our own Fit Club. I need to stop for groceries too.

Jane- That is wonderful!! congrats on the PR!!!:D The berries sound great, we don't get them for that good a price here. CA prices are always high. We will be in the 90s until October too. I look on the forecast praying its only in the 90s:eek: But, at least I don't have that much humidity to deal with. I hope that Mom is doing well.

Lols, didn't get around to the meditation or yoga. I will do those today after work. Its toasty the mosty out here. I might also do a workout. I'm leaning towards hi/lo but we shall see.

Alisha

Today is a rest day. I am going to Costco and Fresh Market after work.

Alisha ~ Hope you get your meditation and yoga in today. It's very toasty here and humid so hopefully we will get some rain. We got a little last night. We had just a rainy winter/spring but it has been dry the last couple of weeks.

Mom is doing well. Last week she worked in the yard for a hour. She was so happy. It was the first time she did that in a long time.

Tricia ~ Glad you got your run in. Get a foam roller for your calves and shins. It really helps when you roll them out. Foam rollers are fairly inexpensive too. I think you can get one for under $20.

Evening ladies!

Alisha - How was your five miles yesterday? Did you get to your meditation? I need to do that. Need to stop the cookie binge! Love the Fit Club idea! Hey! We could do a Fit Book Club! Kill two birds with one stone! lol

Jane - Hope you had a nice rest day! Glad your mom is happy and staying active!

I will get a foam roller soon! Took my rest day today. Just trying to keep moving until after vacation, then it'll get serious! I would have worked out, but when I got home, Stephen was leaving for school to teach and he told me Milo was needing cuddle time because he wasn't able to give him enough attention. So, I cuddled and played with the pups a bit until they settled.

We took the Mini in to find the leak. Turns out it was power steering fluid from a broken hose. Put two new tires on the Prius, too. We dropped the Mini off at 8:30 this morning. They didn't call until late this afternoon to tell us what was wrong and they weren't going to be able to fix it until tomorrow. Really? They had my car ALL DAY!!! Will not be buying another Mini as much as I love them! When we first bought it, we were the first in Rhode Island to have one. They were inexpensive and the service was fantastic! They were nice, service was done quickly and it was great! Then, the car became really popular. The doubled in price and treat everyone like crap now. They don't need the individual customer any more like they did in the early days. Mini always sends out a survey after a service. They'll be hearing from me!

Rant over.

Have a great night you two!

Its belly dancing day! Its ttotm. Yesterday was a rest day because of work and then we went to see 'Epic' on 5 dollar tuesdays. It was awesome! Beautiful artwork.

Tricia- The 5 miles was great, the meditation was great, didnt' get around to the yoga. I love it, 'Fit Book Club'. I'm in! I got my foam roller at sports authority on sale, 15 dollars in January. I need to remember to use it. Pup cuddles are important. Sorry about your Mini service. I know someone that had to go to court because hers was a lemon.

Jane- I'm glad to see that Mom is doing better. Enjoy your shopping.

Have a great day!

Alisha

I am going for a 4 mile run tonight if it doesn't rain. It rained earlier but it seems like we'll be able to get it in tonight.

Tricia ~ Sorry about the car but I'm glad you will eventually get it fixed. I never, ever go to a car dealership to do repairs on my car. I've had so many issues with service departments at dealerships that I don't trust them. I take my car to a place in Tallahassee and I absolutely love all the guys there. I trust them and I know that they will never take advantage of me. I've been going there close to 10 years or so.

Alisha ~ Have fun dancing. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. Guess what, I haven't been to a movie theater in 6 years!!! I rarely see any big Hollywood movies. I usually rental foreign, independent or classic films. The only place that showed foreign films was in Tallahassee and it closed.

I never got to workout. My Dad showed up unexpectedly for a business meeting. I now know more about doors than I ever expected to.

Today is Liquid Grooves with Petra Kolber, tai chi. Yippee. It rhymes.:p Tomorrow will be belly dancing.

Then its off to work to find doors that need to be measured. Its a toasty one, but at least its only 94%. It will be about 10 degrees warmer tomorrow.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit I realized that putting off my workouts till later in the day is a fools errand and that I need to not listen to that little voice that says 'sleep in, it will be ok!' No, its not ok, and I know better. And I'm doing a meditation for it, but geez man, that little voice is awful persuasive!

Jane- We don't have a art house theater here:(, just the big ones. My folks love classics movies. The Saint series with George Sanders is one of my favorites.

Tricia- How are the pups? I need to go to the library and get a veggie recipe book to get inspired. I need more veggies and you always inspire me to try vegan/raw foods.

It's a gloomy day here as we are getting rainy from Tropical Storm Andrea. We are on the west side so it won't be so bad for us. We are just on the edge of the storm.

Inside workout tonight. Here it is:

3 rounds Cindy (5 Pull ups, 10 Push ups, 10 Squats)
40 Swings
3 rounds Cindy
30 Presses
3 rounds Cindy
20 Weighted Sit ups
3 Rounds Cindy
10 Bicep Curls

Alisha ~ I need new doors so if you want to come for a vacation....
Enjoy your workout. If I could I would probably workout in the morning it definitely would be tough getting out of the bed early.

Hi Tricia!

Jane- I would do your doors, if I was close enough! My arms are too short to reach that far!

Today is Tai Chi. I enjoyed yesterday's Belly Dancing DVD. Its super hot. 105 today. I don't know why I report the weather, but as a joggler it seems relevant. Its supposed to come down to the high 80s tomorrow, so I think my next joggle will be Monday.

Tricia- Hows it going?

Alisha

Whew! Another abduction! ;)

Alisha - Glad you liked Epic! Looks really good! I love those movies! The Mini has actually been a great car! It didn't even need any significant service besides oil changes, new windshield wipers and tires for 8 years. No complaints with that. It's just that Mini has gotten too big for its britches.

Pups are great! Milo's boo-boo is gone and we are able to leave the cone off for more significant amounts of time now. He's a happy puppy! Peanut is doing great too. She only needs ear drops for a few more days.

Hope you find some great vegan cookbooks! Veganomicon is really great!

105??? Wow! That's really hot! Glad its going to cool off a bit soon!

Jane - I've tried to take my car to other mechanics, but they just don't know how to work on a Mini. Sigh.

After Alisha does your doors, she can come do ours. We have two that need replacing!

I have golf tomorrow! I went with Stephen to the beach today so he could catch some post-Andrea waves. We had so much rain over the last 2 days! It ended earlier than expected this morning which was nice. After my golf lesson tomorrow, we're going to go play a round. I wanted to go today, but we left late for the beach and didn't get home until after 2, and we still needed lunch and Stephen needed a shower, so we didn't go. That's okay. Give it another day to dry out a bit! lol

Have a great night!

Happy Sunday ladies!

Played golf all day! Had my instructional league this morning for 2.5 hours, then Stephen and i went and played 9 holes this afternoon! Had fun! My feet are tender now though from all the walking. I did remember my sunscreen so that was good!

4 more days and we're off to Canada! After that, it's total serious, get-down-to-business on my workouts and straightening out my food! Really!

Hope you two had a great day!

thunder and lightening

I'm doing Jillian's Ripped in 30 and 20 min. from Dance off Belly Fat and then 20 min. of yoga this evening before bed. My Mom was sick all night, I'm not comfortable going for a run and not being at the house. She was vomitting a lot and I can just go for a run tomorrow instead or on Wednesday. Either one is fine.

Tricia- Abductions? Lols! I forget sometimes too. Its ok. We don't mind. Thats one of the reasons I like our check in is that we aren't too strict about things like that. Life is too short to get our panties in a bunch over a skipped couple of days. Your golf day sounds like fun. Thankfully it has now cooled off for our weather system, just 77 deg. today and it was 15 degrees warmer yesterday:cool: I'm so glad the pups are getting better. I personally hate cysts and my Dad does too. They actually can hurt. I will check out veganomicon, thanks for the suggestion. Lols: 'Mini has gotten too big for its britches' :p Thats so cool that Stephen can 'catch some waves', with my extra pounds I float real well! I just don't have the coordination for actual surfing.

Jane- How was Sunday?

Alisha

Happy Monday!

I thought I had posted on Friday afternoon. Oh well...I did a kettlebell upper body workout mixed in with some running.

Saturday I did not have a formal workout but I put down 75 bales of pine straw at my mom's house. I didn't even use a wheelbarrow. I toted the bales myself...farmers walk with pine straw. Afterwards I went to my friend's house for a swim.

Sunday was a 9 mile run. I felt better good too.

Tonight will be a leg workout - lots of squats and stuff like that.

Alisha ~ I hope your mom is feeling better today. {{{Hugs}}} to both of you.

Tricia ~ It sounds like you had a fun weekend. Where are you going in Canada?

Evening ladies!

Alisha - Glad you got some relief from the heat! I hope your mom feels better today! That could not have been fun for her! I hate vomiting! It hurts so badly. {{{HUGS}}} to her and healing!

Your funny about your weight! I am a huge buoy too right now! lol

Jane - Great workouts, especially the bale-hauling one! Those are often the best - functional workouts. We are going to be in Montreal for a couple of days on our way to the conference Stephen is presenting at, then we'll head to Quebec. He presents on Tuesday and taking a few days to visit places and have fun. We leave Friday and will be home next Thursday. The closer it gets, the more I'm looking forward to it!

I'm just a bit bummed that I don't have anything to wear that fits! When I get back, I'm going whole turkey on workouts and cleaning up my food act! I have got to get back into my clothes!

Have a great night you two! Alisha - Again, I hope your mom doesn't have any more vomiting episodes and is feeling better!

I did enjoy Jillian's Ripped in 30 yesterday.

I'm going for a hike this morning and then I will cool down with some yoga. I didn't get my yoga last night. I got a terrible headache, I guess it was the weather, because it was out of character for me. Ouchie.

Tricia- Mom is feeling a bit better, just a headache today. Thank you for the healing. Your Canada trip sounds awesome!! We can lose weight together. For me it all starts with meditations.

Jane- your hay workout is a real workout for sure:eek: Thanks for the hugs, I appreciate it.

Alisha

I took a rest day yesterday.

Tonight will be a 4 mile run. It is supposed to be 96 today and I bet the heat index will be over 100. The humidity will be low so I guess that's something. :)

Tricia ~ Have fun in Canada. I haven't been there since the 70's. Did you need a passport to get into Canada these days.

Alisha ~ I'm glad your mom is feeling better.

Have a fun Wednesday!

Jane- Yes you do need a passport now. Its been that way since 9/11.

I took a rest day. I will workout tomorrow, something indoors.

Tricia- How was your day?

Alisha
