Move your groove thing!

'Yeah, yeah!':p

I'm doing Dance off Belly Fat all 5 segments and Tummy Trimmers Standing Abs.

Have a Happy Thursday!

Alisha

My run last night was miserable, at least the 2nd half of it. The first half was fine but I tanked big time at the end. At least I got it done but it was closer to a 5K than 4 miles.

Here is tonight's workout. I will be doing 2 or 3 depending how I feel.

Swings x20
Goblet Squat x10
Double Cleans x10
Squat x10
Figure 8 to a Hold x20
Alternating Lunges x20
Press x10 - Left
Plank x30 seconds
Press x10 - Right
Push up x10
Halo x10 Left Side
Side Plank x20 seconds each side
Halo x10 Right Side
Squat Thrust x10

Friday is going to be a rest day because I have a 5K race on Saturday. This will be 6th time doing this race. I hoping for a course PR. It's a tough one -- a couple of hills, hot as heck and an uphill finish.

Alisha ~ Happy Thursday! It sounds like you're having a good day!! Have fun dancing!!

Hi Tricia.

TGIF!

Today is a yoga day. Yesterday's workout went sideways, I tweaked my right knee. It was the shoes. They are officially garden shoes now. Too bad, expensive but knees are more important than money.

Jane- That looks like a great workout. I hope you PR tomorrow at your race.

Alisha

Eh!

Hi Girls! Yes, you do need a passport, but the crossing was easy. No drug dogs or anything! ;)

You two are doing great with your workouts! Alisha, I hope your knee is okay! I'll be getting into high gear when I get back!

Before we even made it into Canada, we stopped at a rest stop (we weren't even into northern Vermont) and we get out of the car, walk two steps, and hear one line of a conversation and someone says, "Eh!" just like you hear in movies about Canada! LOLOLOL! ;):D:eek: I started laughing so hard!

Hardest thing about today was leaving Peanut at the kennel. They were both find until they went to take them into the back. Milo went fine, but Peanut fought it. They had to push her in. :( We got a photo update this afternoon of Milo in the fenced wooded area with some other dogs (he's our social one) and a note that said they were doing fine.

We are settled in Montreal. Had a nice Italian dinner and wine and back in our room getting ready to watch Game of Thrones. We stopped in Burlington, VT at a place called Saratoga Olive Oil Co. on the recommendation of a FB friend. Amazing little shop! Free tastings of all their olive oils and vinegars! We bought 3 bottles of vinegars - dark chocolate (the Espresso one was amazing too), cranberry pear and Serreno honey! Delicious! They have an online shop too. If you get a chance, check them out! Tomorrow we are hitting the city. We are spending our nights at a cheaper hotel on the opposite side of the river from the main city. Will check in again tomorrow night!

BTW, on Wednesday, the marina emailed - they started assembling our boat! Yay! We'll be in the water the weekend we get back from our trip!

Great news!

Have a terrific night you two!

I'm taking one more rest/yoga day. I don't want to push it. I will be back at workouts next week with a different pair of shoes. Its always shoes.

I'm loving my new mattress pad because its 'cooling' and doesn't keep me too hot.

Tricia- Your trip sounds like so much fun. I love Canada, I've been to Windsor and Victoria. Love it, Canadian guys are so nice!! I'm sorry Peanut was nervous about the kennel. Time on your boat is imminent, remember to take pictures once you are out on the water.

Jane-Was the race good?

Alisha

Hi Alisha - Smart to take it easy until your knee is better! Hope new shoes help!

Hi Jane!

We're in Quebec now. Montreal was fun and I feel like I don't have to ever go back as we crossed every bridge in Montreal crossing the St. Lawrence River on purpose and by accident! LOL

Our hotel here is fantastic! It's 4-star and nice to be in a real hotel! We stay at this really cheap little motel in Montreal. It did the job, but we're in nicer conditions now! We're in a great part of Quebec and I have to say that I like Quebec way better than Montreal! Can't wait to explore more! Hoping the weather will get better! It's 50 and raining and cold right now! Relaxing for a bit, then may hit one of the pubs later for a beer or two!

Have a great night!

Today is Kathy Smith's Timesaver Cardio. First workout since last Thursday. I'm feeling good. Didn't push it too soon. Now its time to sweat!!:D I plan to do Lunar yoga tonight before bed.

I'm measuring more doors today.

Tricia- I have never been to Quebec, do you speak French? Its 90, hot and sunny here. I will try to blow some of that rain away for you.

Jane- How was the weekend? I hope it was fun.

Alisha

Happy Monday!

I'm sorry I missed the weekend. It was a busy one.

My race on Saturday was a disappointment. I wanted to do well but I my legs felt like cement blocks. I think mentally I let this race get to me. I was dreading that BIG hill at the end. I did not do my worst time but it was the worst 5K I've done this year. Although if you look at it, the time I did on this race used to be my normal race time so I guess now it is just a slow time for me. Also on the up side is that I managed to take a pretty decent race photo. My friend was on the sideline cheering for me and I smiled so I look relaxed and happy but inside I was dying. My sister did well and cut 2 minutes off the last time she ran the race so she was happy. She also beat our Wednesday night running companion and she has never done that before. After the race I headed off to my mom's house and was there until 3pm.

Sunday was a 9 mile run. I felt great (of course) so it was a great run. The weather has a tad cooler and a bit more breezy. Then I was came home and was in clean mode. I was up at 5:30am and did not sit down until noon.

Today will be a leg day so I will do my usual squats and may take out the sled and do some drags in between the squats.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are having fun in Canada. The last time I went was in 1976 and I remember Montreal being very foreign to me because everyone spoke French. I remember being at a restaurant and everyone was eating French Fries with a fork. I thought that was so funny.

Alisha ~ You are up early! I'm glad you listened to your body and took a rest. That is really important. Don't work too hard today. We have been in the 90's as well and very dry. I'm glad you are loving your new mattress pad.

Have a great day!

Hello from Quebec!

Alisha - Glad you're feeling up to a workout! Don't push too hard! Measuring doors sounds fun. ;)

No, I don't speak French, but most everyone speaks English so communication isn't a problem, unless you're trying to order an iced coffee and cinnamon roll at Tim Horton's. lol Stephen ended up with a multigrain bagel and a hot coffee and finally got his iced coffee, but gave up on trying to get a cinnamon roll! Other than that, we haven't run into any problems.

It warmed up today and the sun finally came out! Yay! Tomorrow and Wednesday are going to be nice and in the 70s. I have been trying to upload my photos onto Flickr, but the internet connection here is messing me up. Sigh. I have pinned a few photos over on Pinterest and they are sharing on FB. Hoping to get more up soon!

Relaxing for a bit, then we'll be heading down for a reception for the conference which officially starts tomorrow. I love Quebec! The city is beautiful and I love that everything is within walking distance!

The worst thing about this trip is that I miss my green smoothies and salads and fruit! My skin is in horrific condition - very red.

Berries are extremely expensive here! They have such a short growing season. We did find a great community market where the local farmers and beekeepers, etc. come to sell their goods. There was wine and honey, sausages and cheeses and so many other things! We got to taste almost everything! That's pretty cool.

Have a great night you two!

Tricia- Your trip sounds like so much fun. I would miss my normal food too.

Jane- I'm sorry your race wasn't so great.

There was a rattlesnake in front of my front door last night, hanging out in the flower garden. I startled him with my watering, he doesn't like that. So, I called a snake relocating company, they came out and got him. Now he has a new home over 100 miles from here. I was scared:eek:

I'm doing Shiva Rea's Yoga for Beginner's this morning. The bug spray guy is coming in about an hour to spray for ants. I may do some yoga this afternoon after I get home from work. I was planning to go to a movie but I just don't think I have the time, I was going for $5 dollar tuesday to see Superman, but he seems like a very somber Superman. I like Superman to be funny and Super at the same time. I liked Chris Reeves.

Catch ya' later!

Alisha

EEK!

Hi Alisha - Glad you were able to get the snake out of your yard without killing it! I expect you startled each other!

Sorry you don't have time for a movie. I think I'd still like to see the new Superman movie even though it's getting mixed reviews. I think the die hard Chris Reeves fans are not liking it and the people who came after are liking it. That's my guess anyway.

I'm getting tons of walking in. Today, we did the Citadel tour and Notre Dame. It seems every major city in Canada has a Notre Dame Cathedral! Go figure.

We ate a late dinner last night after the reception for the conference after walking around the city some more down in old town. Didn't eat until almost 10 p.m. and I ate a meat pie! That's right! It was absolutely sinfully delicious! lol We had a nice uphill walk back to the hotel, then we had some Canadian Whiskey in Charlie's room (Stephen's fellow finance PhD student who is also attending the conference). We didn't get back to our room and to bed until after 1 a.m. Of course, I still woke up at dang 5:30 a.m.!! Every day since we've been on vacation. I don't understand it.

Today, we ate lunch at Chez Victor. Fodor's said it had the best burgers in North America. I must say it was pretty darn good! I know. I've been eating a lot of meat in the last two days! I'll probably try to have fish or something tonight for dinner. We're eating at the hotel restaurant which currently has an excellent chef. I'll let you know about that tomorrow!

The pictures of Peanut from the kennel are great! Today, they sent one and Peanut looks like she's finding her way around just fine now! I'm so proud of her!

Have a great afternoon and evening! Will try to check in tomorrow! If not, I'll catch you when we get home!

Hi Jane! Hope your week is going well!

I'm doing Shred it with weights and the cardio/drills from MMA boxing. Then its hit the showers and off to work all day.

Tricia- That burger sounds delish! and that meat pie too! Have fun up there.

Jane- How was Tuesday?

Alisha

I'm here!!

Tuesday was a rest day.

Wednesday was a 4 mile run. Even though it was warm, there was a breeze so the run was more pleasant than I thought it would be. My legs were sore from the workout on Monday. We ended up doing 320 weighted squats plus deadlifts and calf raises. I did not get the sled out though. My sister and I can really tell the different in our legs by doing the squats 1x a week.

Today is going to be an upper body/cardio/core workout. I just haven't put it together yet. I will post it once I figure it out.

Alisha ~ I would freak out if I saw a rattlesnake. We have snakes here but I haven't seen a rattlesnake. Actually when we were out running last night we saw a dead snake. My friend said don't get too close to it, it my be alive. I told her that the head was flatten into the pavement. She apparently hates snakes. I'm more curious than afraid which probably isn't good.

Tricia ~ You trip sounds like fun. I eat so good 90% of the time that I think enjoying yourself on a vacation isn't the end of the world. Once you get home you'll be ready to dive into cleaner eating again.

It's great that the kennel is sending you pictures. What a great service!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Jane- I don't think I could do that many squats:eek:.

I don't think I'm afraid of dead snakes, just noisy ones that hiss.

I'm taking a rest day. I will go for a hike tomorrow and do a Cathe on Saturday.

Tricia- I bet all that walking will off set your carnivore style meals. Don't worry, be happy now:cool:

Alisha

Just want to say hi! We're home safely! Pups had to spend tonight at the kennel. We didn't have time to pick them up tonight. We got stuck in Boston traffic. Stephen barely made it to teach his class!

I think I'm trying to get a migraine as I'm having trouble seeing. I have spots! Going to go take some Advil NOW and hope that fends it off!

Catch up on the rest tomorrow or over the weekend!

Yesterday's hike was great. Today is 'Trance Dance' with Shiva. I think I will go for another hike tomorrow.

Jane- Thats a great looking workout.

Tricia- I hope the headache passed. Hug the pups for me. (Not that they would know the difference, but whateva:p

Alisha

I didn't get around to Trance Dance yesterday, I was easily distracted by my shows on my Tivo:eek:. I'm going for a hike this morning and I need to do a meditation. I will workout tomorrow.

Happy Big Moon Sunday!!!

Alisha

Happy Monday! :)

I missed a couple of days. Here is the recap:

Friday

400m Run
20 weighted squats
400m Run
20 BOSU Jumps
400m Run
20 Walking Lunges (20 each leg)
400m Run

Saturday was a rest day.

Sunday was a 9 mile run. My sister and I did this run in conjunction with a virtual 10K race for diabetes.

Tonight will be a leg workout. It will either be the usual squats or the Fab 40 - a workout with those of walking lunges and other exercises mixed in. It will depend on if it rains for not.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you made it home safely. It sounds like you had a great time.

Alisha ~ Hope you get your workout in today.

Have a great Monday!
