I did Liquid Grooves yesterday. I think I will do my Hula dvd today. I will do a Tantric Dance workout tomorrow. I have to get some forms together before I can go to work. Its ridiculously hot, in the 110s right now. So I'm doing lower intensity workouts.

My cousin's Grandmother passed on Friday. She was very elderly. I didn't know her very well. So, things have been a bit heavy around here. She was the last of her generation and I think that weighed on my Dad.

I went off diet yesterday. My friends and I watched The Bourne Supremacy last night. I did have a slice of pizza. But, I'm pleased to report it was only one slice. And I discovered that my home made pizza is way better than Papa Johns:D

Jane- Thats a great looking workout. I hate when the rain ruins a run day.

Tricia- Did you get your Zumba in? I'm sorry that your job stinks right now.

Hi Alisha!

I saw the temps out your way! Yowza! Crazy hot! Hoping you cool off really soon! Sorry about your cousin's grandmother. Good for you only eating 1 piece of pizza! I could never do that! :eek: I did do some Zumba and I did 4DS Chest and Back tonight. I asked Stephen to make sure I didn't beg off and he didn't. He harassed me until I changed into workout clothes and got it done. Tomorrow is supposed to be HIIT, we shall see. He won't be here to push me because he has to teach.

Happy July!!!

I missed a couple of days. I ran 9 miles on Sunday and yesterday did a leg workout. Yikes! I am feeling it this morning. Today will be a rest day.

It still continues to be rainy here but they are scattered showers. Yesterday we didn't have any rain but it was cloudy and humid but at least there was a breeze. We have 70% or better chance of rain between now and the weekend. Oh well...at least I don't have to water the plants outside and it is cooler - 80's instead of 90's.

Alisha ~ Stay cool! One slice of pizza isn't going to hurt you. I haven't found a good pizza since I left Chicago. I do like Home Run Inn Frozen Pizza. They are from Chicago so lately my cheat meal has consisted pizza.

Sorry to hear about your cousin's grandmother. It is sad to see the last of a generation. My mom is the only one left in her family and in my dad's family only the 3 sisters are left.

Tricia ~ Great job in getting your workout done!!
 
Jane- Great job on your run! The only thing with running is that it always seems like its a lower body workout and then I have to decide if even doing a lower body workout the next day is a good idea. I think I would be hobbling if I did 9 miles one day and then a leg workout the next day, you are a better woman than I!:D

Tricia- Stephen is a great motivator if he can get you to put on your workout clothes!:eek: Maybe you need an annoying alarm on your phone to motivate you when Stephen is not around.

Today is a rest day. I did enjoy my hula workout yesterday. It is a lower body workout. I always feel it in my arms too. I will do a belly dancing DVD tomorrow. I am working on improving my diet again. I did well yesterday. Its just a meal by meal thing for me. You know that phrase 'Day by day' well its every meal for me. Not that I don't plan somewhat. But its not fair that they put fast food (junk food) on every corner and I notice it when I'm lowering my calories and am just a tad hungry.

Jane - I'm with Alisha! I could never do legs, then run or vice versa! Ouch, ouch, ouch! Great work! Enjoy your rest day!

Alisha - Yeah, I need a recording of him saying, "Change clothes and get your workout done!" over and over! lol

Hula and belly dance? You are an exotic exerciser for sure this week! Go, girl! Yeah, my nutrition has been atrocious since getting back from vacation! I've been back on green smoothies in the morning, but the rest is a disaster! Right there with you on the fast food!

I've signed up for another raw food program. I had been waiting for this one to come around again for almost a year! I had not opened my email for a day or two and almost missed that she was having a flash sale! I had until midnight last night and just got in at $27! Couldn't pass that up! I'm thinking that I'll learn a lot more from this one since she gives you recipe anatomies so you can learn to substitute ingredients. That will be so handy!

Gotta start cleaning it up and I'm going with along with your plan, Alisha - one meal at a time!

2 days of workouts done! HIIT 40/20 tonight. It about killed me, but I did it. Hopefully, in a few weeks, it'll be a little bit easier.

Well, later, gaters! I'm off to catch up on FB! lol
 
Hi Ladies,

When I run those 9 miles I try to stay upright and moving after the run. It helps and I don't get stiff. My legs feel better today. I'm going to try and go for a run tonight but we have a 100% chance of rain but according to the radar it appears to be heading more NW. Right now my County is dry. I hope it stays that way until after my run. If I don't going running, I will probably do an upper body workout.

Alisha ~ Enjoy your rest day. All we have is junk food around here. I try not to look when I driving...eyes straight ahead. My sister worked with a girl that programmed herself to hate french fries. It got to the point where if she smelled them they made her sick. I guess that could work if you don't go out of control.

Tricia ~ YIPPEE for the workout!! Glad you got signed up for your program.

What is everyone doing for the 4th?

I have to go back to work on the 5th so I'm just going over to mom's. We wanted to work out in her yard but I'm not sure if that is going to happening. They are forecasting rain...AGAIN!! So if it rains, we'll probably have lunch at mom's and hang out for a while.
 
Jane - Yeah, the weather has been really crappy here too. Actually, I wish it would rain tomorrow! I hate 4th of July. Between the late parties, loud neighbors and fireworks, it drives me crazy, keeps me up and scares Peanut to death. We're supposed to have another heat wave starting tomorrow. At least we can get out on the boat tomorrow! Will be putting Peanut in her Thundershirt and give her a Valium early.

I have to work Friday too. I get to dress down and we're leaving early at least! Yay!

No workout tonight, but that's okay.

Hi Alisha! Hope you have a great 4th or a quiet one, whichever is your preference! Or a great quiet one! lol
 
I took yesterday and today as a rest day. Tomorrow will be belly dancing. We had a quiet 4th. I was surprised, I guess the fire danger put the qibash (spl?) on the fireworks. It had been around 108 deg. F for over 10 days. Right now, I'm living in a tinder box.

Tricia- I used to like the 4th, but now I'm just like Peanut!:eek: Great job on your workouts!!! I bet you feel better now that you are doing them again.

Jane- Yeah, I don't know that I want to be sick at the smell of fries, but its not a bad idea at all. I might try that on a meditation. After all, what nutritional value do fries have at all anyway.

Yesterday was a rest day for me too but I did work in mom's yard for 2 hours.

Here is tonight's workout. Again, I am hoping it doesn't rain. We've been lucky because evenly though it has been rainy, it hasn't rained during any of our workouts. The temperatures have been cool too so although it is humid the temperature is nice.

Tricia ~ How was your 4th? Many of the fireworks were cancelled yesterday due to rain but ours was not cancelled. The were really loud this year plus we had some neighbor setting them off as well. The sounded like bombs.

Alisha ~ I wish we could send our rain to you. We've gotten too much although I do like that we don't have to water the plants. Hope it cools down by you soon.
 
Hi ladies!

Alisha - Glad you didn't have to tolerate fireworks this year, but I hope you get some rain and relief from the heat soon and no fires!

Jane - I hate neighborhood fireworks! The neighbors that had the huge party last night only had sparklers this year. Thank goodness! And, they ended the party right at around 10 which was nice, so it wasn't so bad this year. Oddly, the rest of the neighborhood didn't start up with the fireworks until 11.

4th was fine. We spent the day sailing from around 12:30 to 6:30, then had to breakdown the sails and tidy all the lines. It was really hot and humid. I don't think I took enough water with me because later last night when we went to bed, I started to get sick. It was weird. I was fine all day and had dinner and was fine after that. Around 11, I started getting chills and my abdomen was cramping badly. I felt so bad that I couldn't make myself get up for 2 and a half more hours. Finally made it up and shivered my way downstairs to go the bathroom. I had awful cramping and diarrhea. I took two advil with a glass of water that I could barely hold with both hands. It carried over into today and I had to call in sick from work. I hated missing because today was a short day, dress down and the boss was buying lunch! Oh well. All I could get make myself have in the morning was hand juiced orange juice on my little tabletop juicer. Stephen ran out and got me more fruit and vitamin water to replenish my electrolytes.

I had a horrible day! The cramping was the worst! I'm really not sure if this was heat stress, dehydration or just a stomach virus, but it seems to be settling down. The cramping appears to have stopped, but I'm still having diarrhea. Hoping that will be settling down soon too. Man, I can't remember feeling like this in a very, very long time!

I am so drained and exhausted from all of this! I've had a headache along with it and have been taking advil since around 2 this morning. Going to take tomorrow to just rest up and get my strength back, assuming this is finally over.

Peanut survived the 4th quite well! When we got home from sailing we fed the pups dinner and i gave Peanut her Valium and put her thundershirt on. She vegged on the couch all night with no incidences! Yay! The trick with all of that is getting the med in her system early enough.

So, that's my story. Ugh.
 
I will do my belly dancing in a little while. I woke up hungry so I ate a couple of slices of whole wheat bread. My brother or dad in their infinite wisdom nuked some lasagna last night, but they burned it a little and the smell was unpleasant. I had to have a fan blowing on my face for hours just to breathe. :p

I plan to go for a hike and do some yoga tomorrow morning in the coolest part of the day. I need to remember to do a meditation today. I tried last night but I fell asleep.:eek:

The good news: today is only going to be 92!!! Where I live, I always count my blessings when we head into September because that means I survived another summer!:cool: I get so much more work done when its only in the 90s, not in the 100s.

Tricia- Just rest today, drink fluids, watch some tv, drink more fluids. Do you take triphala when you have had a GI bug? I do. It seems to help. Take an epsom salt bath to restore your salts without having to eat or drink. It works like a champ and won't make you puke:eek: Watch out for that headache, that kind of thing can be serious. If it gets too bad and you are just in terrible pain go to the ER, it could be your kidneys in trouble.

I'm glad Peanut was ok. I might need a valium if things get that noisy.

Jane- I would take your rain!! Thanks! Yeah, I don't mind humid if the temp is cooler. That reminds me, I need to water the garden. Great job on your workout!!
 
Alisha - Glad it has "cooled" a little for you!

I hate lasagna anyway, so that would be doubly icky for me! *cough*

It was a very miserable 2 days, but I survived! I am much better today! Had a second migraine last night, but immediately took some Advil and fended it off. I've been drinking lots of water and juice and water - no coffee or alcohol (didn't even want any of that anyway) and ate fresh fruit. This morning, I made crepes. I had promised Stephen some, but had not had the energy or stomach to do it until today. They were tasty! Filled them with fresh banana and strawberries and put some on top with just a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. Will freeze the rest of the batch for a couple of more servings later on.

If I had still been bad today, I was going to the ER. I'm glad that this mess has finally passed! Not sure what it really was, but hope I never see that again! Ugh!

Going to rest up and get my strength back before starting my workouts again. Get back on my raw foods.

Total, I lost 5 lbs. in 2 days. 3.5 on day one and 1.5 on day 2. I do not recommend that weight loss program!

So, now I want crepes. For real, that sounds so good!!! Yum!

I am taking a rest day. I will workout tomorrow. I have decided to throw out my rotations and just do whatever appeals to me. Yesterday I did a Cathe step workout, just beginner's step as it was ttotm. I was thrilled with myself for working out at all. yeah me.

Tricia- I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sending lots of healing vibes. That is not the weight loss program for me either!!

Happy Monday! What happened to the weekend??

Saturday I did a weight workout that I'm still feeling. It was basically 20-15-10 reps of 2 different exercises per upper body (shoulders, chest, back, biceps and triceps).

Sunday was a 10 mile run. I hurt so much yesterday...mainly my right hip flexor...not sure why. I stretched last night, popped some Advil and I'm feeling good today.

I'm probably doing a leg workout tonight.

Alisha ~ Yippee for working out when you didn't feel like it! I am glad the weather has cooled a bit by you. We have been less rainy. We didn't have any rain on Sunday and hopefully none today. We only have a 30% chance.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are feeling better. That sounded awful. Please rest and take it easy for a couple of days.
 
I am doing Trance Dance this afternoon. One part dance, one part Shiva, and one part trance. Can't beat a deal like that. I will workout tomorrow, too.

Jane- I'm sorry your hip was hurting you. I was feeling tight in my quads last night for no good reason.

Tricia- I'm still thinking about crepes. Yummmmmm. . . ..

I am taking today as a rest day.

I had to workout inside yesterday because it was storming when I got home. I did a total of 240 weighted squats - 6 rounds of 10 reps each of thrusters, back squats, zercher and sumo. Then I did 40 weighted calf raises, 40 deadlifts, 40 Brazilian lunges and 50 BOSU Jumps.

Alisha ~ Have fun with the Trance Dance!! My hip felt great yesterday and today too. I was worried that the squats would bother it but it didn't. I should have foam rolled before my long run on Sunday.

Missed last night as I was exhausted and just pooped out before I got around to checking in.

Alisha - Sorry I got you thinking about crepes so much! They are very easy to make! Yay for working out and just doing what feels good! I need to take a lesson from you once i'm up and running again!

Jane - Great workouts! Hm, sorry your hip flexor was bothering you, but i'm glad it's better!

I probably won't be gearing up again until at least the weekend. I want to play golf so badly! So far, I've been feeling a bit better each day. My abdomen isn't as tender or distended and bloated as it was yesterday and I'm feeling a bit more like myself. I'm still tired in the mornings though. Eating better today too, which is good and bad! lol

Of course, when I'm finally better, we're supposed to start getting rain. Sheesh. I'm sick of this crappy summer. It's either been raining or too darn hot to be out, oh, and there's been the "illness!" Sigh.

Oh, well, tomorrow's Wednesday - Hump Day! Whoop whoop (as the camel says)! lol Have a great night you two!
 
I did that dance workout this morning. I tried last night but I felt like cr-p. Probably too hot. It was 102 and I had been working all day. I will workout tomorrow.

Tricia- Thats ok, I like crepes. I can :cool:give lessons in how to workout: wake up, sometime during the day put on workout clothes. Look at DVDs or look outside: workout!! Pick one anyone. No limits. Limits make it a chore.

Make me think of 'Its camel time' like 'Its Hammer time' only funnier.:p

Jane- Way to go on your workout. I need to remember to foam roll too. I was so sore this morning. Dang quads, and I know it would have been better if I had rolled.:rolleyes:
 
I am going for a run tonight. I hope to do 4 miles. There is a chance of rain but it's only 40%. We didn't get any rain yesterday so hopefully we'll be able to get the run in tonight. It will be hot though.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you are feeling better each day. I hope you get to golf. Yes, this summer has been really rainy and crappy. It's always hot here so I can't really complain about that.

Alisha ~ Great job on the dance workout. It's fun to do what you just feel like doing instead of forcing yourself to do something that's on the schedule. I'm on a schedule but I have to because I have other people working out with me so I have to keep us all on track and find the workouts and keep track of who did what the last time we met. It gets a bit confusing sometimes.

Alisha - Ugh. What a miserable day you must have had yesterday! Ha, ha! Camel Time! Love it! I'll be singing that for several hours now. Thank you!

Jane - Glad you got your run in! We are supposed to golf tomorrow, but it's 60% chance of rain and tonight looked pretty threatening even though it hasn't rained yet.

I am finally back to my old self! I was a bit worried it would take longer. My energy is back and I feel pretty good. Still going to wait until next week to get going again just to be sure and give myself time to have a couple of days of saving up!

Stephen's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what I'm going to get him! He wants an autopilot for the boat, but I don't know anything about those things and really don't want him to have to buy his own gift, you know? Glad I still have a couple of weeks to figure it out! It's not until August 8th, but if I order something, I need to order pretty soon. He's so hard to shop for!

Hanging out with the pups! Finally getting to watch an episode of Master Chef! lol I'm addicted to Chopped, too! I watch that all night on Tuesdays. They have back to back episodes from 7 through 10. lol I love watching people cook food!
