Jogglers July 2013

Happy Monday!

I took Saturday as a rest day. On Sunday I ran a virtual half marathon. My sister and I were out running at 5:50 am but it was fun in a weird kind of way. We didn't push, just ran and walked the distance. I was about 25 minutes slower than what I usually do in a 1/2 but that's fine with me. The race was for charity and we got a cool medal and sleeveless top.

I'm not sure about the workout tonight. It's rainy and I have to stop at mom's on the way home and I have a 4pm meeting so might not get in a workout. My legs are sore but not terribly sore but I am tired so we'll see.

Alisha ~ I hope you're feeling better and I'm sorry about the issue with your supervisor. I think we are sisters!! Math was very difficult for me too and I was not a good student. I got F in math in first grade. Believe it or not, we only needed 1 year of math to graduate high school. So I took freshman algebra, got a D and that was the end of the math career. I find it amusing that I am doing accounting work. :) Seriously though I do understand your pain. I never, ever felt smart enough growing up and I had 2 sisters that got straight A's and graduated Magna cum laude and Suma cum laude in College. It took me a long time to realize that I am smart and have loads of common sense. Your acceptance of yourself will come in time and you will see yourself differently as you get older. I actually think you are very smart.

Hi Tricia ~ I'm glad it's cooling off by you. We are still having rain.

Evening ladies!

Alisha - {{{HUGS}}} Sorry about the issues with this project and your supervisor. You don't have to know math to be smart! You are a very smart lady and you will find your strength and confidence! I know you can do that certification! You will never be homeless! You are always welcome to stay with us! Shake it off, get a good night's sleep and it will all look better in the morning!

Sorry you were sick, but i'm glad it went away so quickly! RIPD looks so fun!

Jane - Glad you had a nice 1/2! Sounds nice to be able to just do it and not worry about getting a PR or trying to place on occasion! You workout so hard! No worries if you don't get one in tonight!

I'm what you call book smart. I can learn anything, but put it into real world practice! Oh, well.

Workout #2 got done tonight! I did Cardio Supersets, but only because Stephen pushed me to get upstairs and change into workout clothes. I would have just sat on the couch otherwise. Hope he'll keep that up long enough for me to get back into the habit!

$2 earned! Yay!

Have a great night you two!

Gah, I put on a pound and a half with the stress from the memorial service. Or it was the angel food cake. . in any event, I'm back on the straight and 'narrowing' :p I need to up my healthy fats and reduce my treats.

I did enjoy yesterday's workout. I think I will do a Salsa dance DVD this morning.

Tricia- Stephen is a good friend to you, you really need that encouragement! Well done on that workout!

Thanks, I sure hope that you are right and I won't be homeless. After all, where would I do my Cathes?

Jane- Thanks for making me feel better about my math abilities (disabilities?). Great job on your virtual race, just running is just fine.

I did do Salsa Dance yesterday. Today is Yoga Today with Sarah Kline, an intense session to help me jump start the old weight loss again.

Have a great Wednesday!

Alisha

Hello from the Rainy South. It's pouring right now.

I took yesterday as a rest day as well. It's been a long time since I took 2 days off in a row from working out. I feel good though.

Today will be a run if we can get it in, otherwise I will do workout inside.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you got a workout in and making money as well. That's a great idea.

Alisha ~ I don't think you will be homeless. I think being smart is having common sense - work hard, volunteer for any job, be on time (or early), dressing nice and having a great attitude. Those qualities go very, very far in the working world. I may not be the sharpest tool in the box but I at least have those qualities. Managers would rather deal with someone with a good attitude than someone that is really smart. At least what I've seen in my experiences.

I hope you had a great workout today.

Happy Hump Day ladies!

Alisha - Ack! Don't seat the 1.5 lbs. I think it was the angel food cake! You don't get that very often! I have lots of Cathes for us to do if you ever need a place to stay! I agree with Jane though. It is more about dependability and professionalism than intelligence that makes an employer want you.

Jane - Taking a couple of days off in a row is good when you work out every day like you do! Glad you enjoyed it!

I did XTrain Bis & Tris tonight. Hoping to play golf tomorrow, but the forecast shows rain. We shall see. If I don't play golf, I'll workout. Low Impact Challenge is up for tomorrow.

Having a hard time holding on to Stephen's birthday presents! I ordered early which I typically don't do and now I want to give them to him! lol I can't keep secrets!

Have a great night!

Never did workout yesterday, worked longer hours instead.

Great minds think alike, I'm doing the new LIC too!! I will workout tomorrow.

Tricia- Thanks for the encouragement, but I plan to do just that, sweat those pounds:p!

Jane and Tricia- Thanks for the encouragement about my skills and abilities, I appreciate it.:)

My run was rained out yesterday so I did any upper body and ab workout with some swings mixed it.

Today will be a 4 mile run (fingers crossed). There is a 50% chance of rain but nothing so far.

Alisha ~ We love you!! And we've been there too. In a way things get easier when you get older because after awhile you just don't really care what people think of you. At least I don't.

Tricia ~ Great job on the workouts. Keep up the good work!!

Happy Friday Eve ladies!

Alisha - Well, sometimes work wins over workouts, but that's okay!

Jane - It seems to be a rainy summer this year. Golf got rained out today, so I opted to take a rest day today - only one!

Ready for the weekend!

That is all.

Have a great night!

I'm doing a mosh up of Kathy Smith's Cardio Knockout Kickboxing drills and Jillian's Shred it with Weights (Kettlebells.) I will do some yoga tonight before bed. Tomorrow will be a rest day.

I need to find a better fanny pack to carry my phone and id on runs. Do you two have a favorite style?

Tricia- Have a great weekend, enjoy your rest day.

Jane- I am definitely going to enjoy not giving two hoots about what people think, I need to work on that. I hope you got your run and that it didn't rain you out.

Alisha

Evening Alisha!

Nice workout blend! I actually don't use a fanny pack. I have my yellow jacket that I wear and just put everything in my pockets. It's very lightweight and breathable, so I wear it all year round.

I did Low Impact Challenge tonight. Walked in the door after work and Stephen was already harassing me to work out! lol Getting better at that one. I made it to the end! lol

Still missed some steps, but at least didn't quit out of frustration for a change!

Have a great night!

Hi Jane!

Tricia- I will have to look into a jacket, I didn't even think of that.

Jane- How was your Saturday?

I took a rest day. I will workout tomorrow.

Alisha

Happy Monday!

I worked out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will do a leg workout tonight. I had a busy last couple of days and am trying to get in small lunch break in. Had to print and bind a proposal this morning and then deliver it. Supposedly there is no chance that we are getting the project but they did it anyway. Not sure why. In any case, this will be short and sweet.

Alisha ~ Instead of a fanny pack you should look for a camelbak for something you can wear on your back (like a backpack). Much more comfortable than a fanny pack and you'll have your hydration with you as well.

The "I don't care what people think" attitude comes when you age.

Tricia ~ Great job on your workouts. Keep up the good work!!!

Today is Petra Kolber's Liquid Grooves. I will workout tomorrow, probably a Cathe step workout.

Jane-I will try one of those Camel Baks. Sounds like a great present to myself! Enjoy your leg workout.

Tricia- How was your Monday?

Alisha

I'm doing the Power Cardio premix from 4DS which is the cardio from kick box and the drills from boot camp.

I'm feeling tired. Its ttotm and I'm just dragging. I might take a half day at work.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I did 200 weighted squats with a 45# barbell and added on 30 weighted calf raises and 30 deadlifts. It was brutal. I am starting to feel it now. Today will be a rest day.

Alisha ~ Also check out Hydrapak. I have the Avila and Soquil kinds. They are a bit pricey but I like them better than the Camelbak.

I hope you feel more energy soon and feel better soon!

Hi Tricia!

Yikes! I've been out of touch this week!

Alisha - Ugh. Sorry you're going through ttotm. Blech! :(
Monday was a very busy day at work and it hasn't stopped yet! We've been busy since Friday! End of the month closings.

Jane - Great workouts! Your leg workouts are always killer! Great idea on the camel baks and hydrapaks! Didn't think about that, but I don't have one. Stephen wears one when he runs.

I am still getting my workouts in! Didn't do anything but golf this weekend, but I did Slide & Glide yesterday and Yoga Relax today. I don't know if it's age or the fact that I'm getting close to the big "M," but it's getting really hard to lose weight! I have my doctor's appointment on Thursday. I'll let you know how that goes. I've been having a period every month that lasts about 10-14 days each time even though I'm on the pill without a break. I shouldn't be doing this. It's frustrating! I halfway hope she takes me off the pill, Maybe I'd lose some weight!

Oh! Almost forgot! Stephen passed his exam! Thank you for all the positive vibes! Whew! Next up, he has to present his paper idea at the end of September. When that gets approved, he will officially be ABD (All But Dissertation). The serious work will kick into high gear! Sadly, that still means 3 more years at least. Sigh. I don't know if I'm going to make it. :(

I need something in my life that's MINE or this is going to kill me.

Anyway, that's what's going on here! One more really busy day tomorrow. Hope I make it without someone making me mad!

Have a great night you two!

Its a rest day. I had to drive my Mom to work. I'm hanging out at an internet cafe called 'Crepeville.' The nutella crepe is excellent.

Tricia- What kind of thing would you like for yourself? An advanced degree? Write a novel? Write a cook book about raw foodie stuff? Write a children's books about the adventures of Peanut? Take up oil painting? Learn how to play the guitar? Embroidery? Swim across the Engish channel? Do a 1/2 Iron Man in Colorado? Volunteer at an animal shelter? Become a yoga teacher?

What floats your boat?

Well done on your workouts. So glad to hear that Stephen passed his test!!

Jane- OMG thats a tough leg workout!!! I will check out those other brands.

Alisha

I was suppose to go for a run tonight but it was raining so I did this workout instead.

2 Rounds

20 bicep curls
20 kickbacks
20 swings
20 kb upright rows
20 OH tricep ext
20 swings
20 hammer curls
20 shoulder presses
20 swings
Then
Russian Twists
Pullover Sit ups
Planks

Tricia ~ Yes it is the big "M" in regards to losing weight. I had to cut down on my food and portion sizes to lose weight. Compared to what I used to eat, I feel like I eat nothing now. You can lose weight you just have to eat really clean and eat less calories overall. Also...heavy weights help too. Sorry about your period. Mine is pretty much gone. I had one last month but it lasted a 1/2 day or less. I love it. My flow really changed once I started working out.

Congrats to Stephen!!!

Alisha ~ Hope you enjoyed your rest day. Crepeville sounds like fun!
