Jogglers July 2013

I'm doing 30 min. of a Cathe step workout. Then I will hit the showers and go to work. Tomorrow may be a rest day. I'm not sure yet.

Tricia- I guess I got you with that 'camel time' lols:p Maybe just a gift certificate for a massage (from yourself?) would be a good present.

Jane- I think I would need a spread sheet to keep track of more than just myself:eek: Enjoy your run!

Yesterday was a rest day because I went into the city (aka San Francisco) for an all day training event and then we stopped at my sister in law's restaurant and got to see my nephew. He is 3 1/2 years old and super cute!! He is 1/2 Indian and 1/2 white and he got my brother's chin.:p He calls it the 'butt' chin because it kind of looks like a tiny baby butt.:eek:

I'm exhausted today. We did a ton of walking in the city. I will probably do some yoga.

I took a rest day on Thursday. I had Friday off from work so my sister and I did 10 miles. She is out of town and would be missing our long Sunday run.

This morning I did a kettlebell workout - 3 Rounds - 20 seconds work/15 seconds rest of the following exercises:
H2H Swings
Back Rows R/L
Figure 8's
Planks
Swings
Clean and Press R/L
Squat
1-Arm Swing R/L
Russian Twist

Alisha ~ I'm glad you got to see your nephew. He sounds like a cutie!! Hope you get some rest.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you're feeling better. I watch Chopped too. I love the cooking shows too.

Yesterday was a rest day. I don't know what I will do today. Kettlebells sound like fun. I may take a cue from Jane.

I had a solo workout this morning. It was nice for a change. It was cloudy and humid but not too bad. Here is my workout:

1/2 mile run
100 Walking Lunges (50 each leg)
1/2 mile run
100 Jump Rope
1/2 mile run
100 Swings
1/2 mile run
100 lateral jumps over rope
1/2 mile run
100 rope slams

Hello ladies! Sorry I've been MIA! Lots going on.

Alisha - San Francisco is lovely! Your nephew sounds too cute! Glad you got to see him!

Jane - Glad you got a great run in with your sister! What I love about Chopped is that you get to see the wheels turning so to speak, their creative process and how they work through unfamiliar ingredients. You don't really get that from Master Chef.

I'm feeling great! Back to normal. Played golf Thursday and yesterday. Stephen and I went early-ish, so it was cool and cloudy. It got humid and a bit warm by the time we finished. Sailing today and it turned out to be beautiful, but it got really hot and there wasn't much wind, but we managed. Enjoying the afternoon at home. I'd like some ice cream, but neither of us wants to go out in this heat any more today!

Starting back with regular workouts tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.I'll figure it out tomorrow!

So, weird, I thought I posted.

Ok, so yesterday turned into a rest day. I did 30 min. of Cathe this morning, LIS from 4DS. I plan to do some yoga this evening. I don't know which one, might just be 20 min. of Shiva. I will workout again tomorrow.

Tricia- I'm glad you are feeling better.

Jane-That looks like a great workout.

Tricia ~ I'm glad you got to play golf and sail as well. I like watching Chopped for the same reason.
 
I was wakeful in the night and I slept in this morning. I just had some breakfast. I don't really know what will happen today. I know that my Dad has a dr. appointment in the morning and we will go to work in the afternoon. What I don't know is if my tummy will empty enough to workout this morning or this evening. It might be tonight.

Jane- Jump squats are tough, are they weighted or just body weight?

Happy Wednesday!

I took a rest day yesterday. Today I'm going for a run. It will be a hot one. We'll try for 4 miles but maybe only do 3.

Alisha ~ Those jump squats were without weight. I've done them with weight before and they are tough either way. Nice workout. I love Petra.

Tricia ~ Hope you are doing well.
 
I'm probably going to do yoga tonight before bed. I will workout tomorrow, early, early, early. Its going to be in the triple digits here all weekend.

Then
Max # of rounds in 20 minutes
Driveway Farmer's Walk
7x Pull ups
12 Halos (6 each side)

Enjoy your yoga! Take care in the heat. I was wiped out from my run last night. Have to figure out how to combat the afternoon heat while running.
 
Sheesh! Where has the time gone? I tell ya, these days are just flying by and I could swear I only missed a couple of days of posting here!

Jane - Great workouts! I hope you figure out how to deal with the heat or whatever is going on with your runs!

Alisha - Can you believe this heat? Ack! Glad you're getting some workouts in and your yoga!

I'm good, just not getting much done with this heat! My organizational skills have gone the way of the Do-Do I think. My food still stinks and my workouts are non-existent. That's okay, I'll get back on things. It will happen! I need to! Stephen is doing well with his runs and losing weight! Good for him!

Please send all the positive energy you can tomorrow. He is taking his comprehensive exam for the 2nd time. He didn't pass it last time. He's not very confident this time either, but I really hope he will pass!

I'm looking into starting a golf league next spring. There was a slot available for a fall league, but it's on Tuesday mornings and I am a 9-5er so that wouldn't work for me. :(

Wish I could do it, but, alas, I must wait until next spring.

Yesterday was a rest day. I will do a Jillian Micheals dvd today. Tomorrow will be a Kathy Smith workout. Its supposed to be extremely hot, in the low 100s. It could be worse, it could be 110.:eek:

Here is tonight's workout:

4 Rounds
1/2 mile Run
50 Rope Slams
50 Lateral Jumps over Rope

Last night's workout was brutal. We did 9 rounds in the last part of the workout.

Tricia ~ I don't think I am eating enough in the afternoon. I have some Greek yogurt at 3pm and running at 6 so I think I need to eat something. The heat would obviously cause my body to work harder so I'm probably burning more calories, I guess. So I will try that. I have no problem in the mornings because I always eat something before I go for a run.

I'm crossing my fingers and toes for Stephen. Hope all goes well.

Alisha - Ugh! I'm trying to blow cool air our way, but our air is almost just as hot! :(

Jane - Yes, it sounds like you need something more substantial with a higher quick energy caloric count. PB is great or a chocolate milk? Banana or banana and PB. Something that has enough calories to fuel your run, but will digest fairly quickly about a half hour before you go.

Nice workout too!

Thanks for the crossed fingers and toes! Now, we wait. Keeping positive energy around us that he passes this time!

I did Jillian's No More Trouble Zones yesterday. I am doing Kathy Smith's Cardio Timesaver this morning. I need to go to the grocery store, all I have are eggs, cabbage, ground beef, and pantry stuff. I have hardly any veggies or fruits. I must force myself to go out there early otherwise I will expire in the heat, its 103 today.

I'm not going to hike tomorrow. The air is awful, there was a big grass fire yesterday about 5 miles from our house. Bleh. I think I will do a Cathe workout inside instead.

I'm working on lowering my carbs. I was pretty good yesterday. I only had one tiny little dark chocolate pudding and a cup of organic popcorn (popped, not raw kernels. . I don't know why I said that, who eats them raw???).

Tricia- Thanks for the cool air wishes. I will keep my fingers crossed for Stephen's exam.

Jane- I am with Tricia, a banana with some PB would help or even a granola bar. We can't have you passing out, out there because we aren't close enough to come and bring you a gatorade! Well done on the workout you posted.

Alisha - Ugh! I know you can't wait for the temps to drop! I need to go to the grocery today too.

I worked out yesterday. Did XTrain Burn Sets Chest Back and Shoulders. Taking it one day at a time.

We have finally dropped out of the 90s! Thank goodness. Had some thunderstorms pass through last night and we are back to more normal temps. Going to be just at 82 today. Going out on the boat for a while, then I need to shop and do another workout. Supersets is on the schedule for today. Not going to beat myself up if I don't feel it today. The sun and water really take the energy out of me, but I'm aiming for it!

Yesterday was a bust. Saturday evening I spiked a fever and felt really ill. I felt better by morning. Then I got a call from my cousins saying we are in town for Grandma Jane's services. So, then I hustle down the hill to see them and visit for a couple of hours. They were doing ok after all, in spite of the circumstance. We were able to see the old house because the new family that is living there were so gracious to let us all come and see all of the renovations that were done after they purchased it. Its like a edition out of Architect's Digest! It looks nothing like it did when we were kids. The yard seems so much smaller! Then, I went to my movie club and we watched the third Bourne movie. I was good, I watched my portion sizes.

So, that brings me to today, I plan to do 30 min. of step with Cathe, I'm dressed and ready to go.

Yesterday I had a pow wow with my immediate supervisor apparently he thought I knew more about this project than I do and had been telling me to 'Just read it' all this time because he thought it would be meaningful. I can see the words on the page, I don't know what they mean. I suffer from fear of not being smart enough because I almost flunked out of high school because I just can't do maths. I am embarrassed about my inadequacies and it comes out as anxiety and tears. I do my best to hold it in, but it causes me a lot of pain. So, basically yesterday was a lousy day.

I just can't wait until this project is over. I will never work with these people again. I hope I can sit for the certification exam to show what I have been doing for the last five years but if not I will just take that completely off my resume. I am at the point where being homeless is more enticing than taking money from these people.

I will workout again tomorrow. I might go to see RIPD tomorrow after work.

Tricia- Well done on your workout. Those 80s sound so nice!! I count my blessings when its only in the low 90s!!

Jane- Good morning!! Did you get a workout?
