Jogglers Feb. 2011

Hi ladies!
Thanks for thinking about me even though I haven't posted in ages... Um, let me see. I went to Hatteras last weekend and rode Chip - two nice rides. The farrier was out Tuesday and he thinks Chip has the beginnings of arthritis or ringbone (which is a type of arthritis too). I need to get up there and work on getting him in the trailer reliably so we can take him up to VA for xrays.

This week I did the timesaver premix to Gym Style Back and Bis, Bum Bum Live and this morning I did Ellen Barrett. I think I did one more workout but can't remember it if I did.

I love See's Scotch Mallows too! Its been really hard the last two weeks because I have very little time and the people at work keep trying to feed me and none of it is health food!

Lisa

Ooh, I think I did PLB in there somewhere too. That was it. Up Premix. I'm managing to get up at 5 to workout before I have to be at work but I'm wiped out and ready for bed by about 8.

TGIF!

Tricia- That reminds me, I need to make some peanut butter cookies. I have all this peanut butter and its got to go somewhere.

Lisa- Its nice to hear from you. I hope Chip is ok.

Jane-I don't think I could manage working at a chocolate shop. I would eat all the merchandise:D:eek:

I skipped the yoga yesterday. It was just too cold in the house. I will either go for a jog today or do MMA kick box. It depends on the weather.

Have a great day everybody!!

Alisha

Hey Lisa! Glad you made it in for a post! I hope Chip is okay, too! I'll be sending healing energy for him! Sounds like your new job has an opening for some education in health and fitness! lol Good luck with that!

Alisha - lol Enjoy the PB cookies! I adore them and can't eat just 1/2 dozen! lol That's why I only make them once in a while! I can't do mellow workouts either when the house is cold! We have a couple of beautiful days! It got up to 61 today! However, starting tomorrow, we're back to winter temps in the 30s. :(

I didi Kenpo X tonight! Should have done plyometrics! After Chest, Shoulders & Triceps yesterday, all those punches were tough to do tonight! I did make it through though! I love this workout! I'm a wee off-schedule due to my slacking, but I'll be right back on track Tuesday. I'm fulfilling this week's workouts through Monday. Don't want to get off track!

I'm still hemming and hawing over what to do after this. I have the undulating rotation of STS on my calendar, but it's only one month and I really want to do the full 3 month rotation. Then, again, I still haven't done the full TurboFire program yet either! I may mix the two. Do STS with the TurboFire workouts, except for the sculpt DVD. I think I like that idea, but I'll need something else to do while I run through my 1 RM tests again! That'll take me at least 2 weeks! I'm thinking of a circuit mix w/Cathe cardio. Do any of you know of any Cathe rotations like that?

Anyway, have a great Friday night and enjoy the weekend!

I won't be running any time soon. Stephen and Milo went this morning for the first time and he said it went poorly. There was still snow over 2 feet deep and they got stuck in one! Most of them they were able to run over the top, but then they would sink through another one! He said Milo got stuck at one point and he had to help him get out! Even Stephen got stuck when he sunk down! So, it's going to be another few weeks! :(

Oh, well! I can't believe we had 2 really warm days and the snow is still not melting fast!

See you tomorrow!

Hi Everyone!

I took a rest day yesterday. Today I did a 12K race in St. Marks, FL. It was beautiful! We ran mostly on a bike trail through the woods. My first 12K so I set an automatic PR. I felt really good and finished within my goal time. My sister got lost coming back to the start so she was delayed by a couple of minutes. She's so funny!

I came home had lunch and just spent 2 hours working in the yard. I'm beat. It was in the 80's today.

Alisha ~ Luckily I worked at that chocolate shop while I was in high school. We were encouraged to sample the chocolates so we knew what we were selling. I was often there by myself so I'd have a tray of chocolates at my elbow while doing my Spanish homework.

Trisha ~ I don't know what is wrong with my P90x dvds. I've had them for a while, at least 2 years. I have to try them out on my other dvd player and see if they work. It's weird that 2 of them didn't work but Cathe's did.

I hope you get rid of that snow soon. I'm not familiar with any of Cathe's rotations but I'm sure she might have something like that. I'd search the forums and see what you can find.

Lisa ~ Glad to have you back. I'm sorry about Chip. I'm sending healing vibes his way.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Tricia- I would email you some warmer temperatures, but I think they require some sort of fancy license to do that.

Jane- Sounds like a great race!

Today is a rest day. I'm going to be adding some MMA into the mix (ttotm so no yoga-sorry for the tmi.) I never did bake those cookies. Instead, I'm roasting a chicken with buttermilk. Heres my rotation for the next week:

Sunday: Rest
Monday: Jog plus MMA disc (tbd.)
Tuesday: 4DS Double step cardio premix
Wednesday: Jog plus MMA disc (tbd.)
Thursday: off
Friday: Jog plus MMA disc (tbd.)
Saturday: CTX mish mosh (all the step segments.)

Alisha

Hi,

Today I did the following workout:

Warm-up - hauling and chopping up a tree that had fallen in my yard.

Workout was 5 rounds 30 seconds work/30 seconds rest of
Pull ups
Push ups
Squats
Sit ups

I'm pretty toasted right now.

Alisha - chicken sounds really good right now. Sounds like you have a really good workout week planned.

Hi to the rest of the gals!

Jane- When you are doing your home made workouts are you listening to podcasts or tunes on your ipod or is it the sounds of nature?

Lisa- Hi, I hope your sister in law is doing well.

Tricia- Looks like we are going to have some snow at the end of the week. I hope it is warmer where you are.

I went for a joggle this morning then I did MMA boxing, skipped the warm up, did the upper body drills, skipped the lower body drills, did 1/2 the core work and then the cool down. Tomorrow will be 4DS double cardio step premix. I love the music on that one.

Alisha

Hi Everyone,

Here's my workout for today. It was warm today and I was dripping sweat.

Four Rounds
10 Walking Kettlebell Swings
10 KB SDHP
10 Med Ball Thrusters
10 Squat Thrusts
Run 200m

Alisha ~ I typically do not workout to music. When I'm outside, I'm listening to nature or my whistling neighbor or the kid on the next block practicing her/his flute. I don't even run with music - just me and my thoughts.

Sounds like you had a great workout today.

Hi Tricia and Lisa!

Hope everyone had a great Monday.

I'm still planning on 4DS this afternoon. I just thought I would pop in here before I start work. I am on the computer all day, adding menus/indexes to construction video, in other words I'm adding a table of contents to footage of paint drying. I'm working on losing some weight and I noticed that I always get weepy, have anxiety with this, even if there was nothing really wrong.

Jane- I like the sounds of nature too. Sometimes I will just turn off my ipod at the end of a run. Right now we have some water in the streams and it makes a beautiful sound.

Hi everybody, have a great Tuesday!

Hi Everyone!

I am taking a rest day. I'm going to mom's for dinner. She has been very fatigued lately but still going to work 2 hours almost every day.

The weather has been gorgeous!!! I hope it continues.

Alisha ~ I don't like to run by myself with my music. I'm too much of a city girl and want to be aware of my surroundings.

Relax with the weight loss. You are doing really well and you are consistent with your workouts. Have fun with your table of contents! :)

Waving to the rest of the gang!

Good grief! I cannot believe I went all weekend without checking in! :(

Jane - A 12k! Good for you and your sister! Tell her not to feel bad, I would probably get lost too, but they'd have to come after me with a search and rescue team! lol :p I hope your DVDs played on your other player! My TurboFire ones won't play in my laptop, but play fine in the Mac Mini! Go figure.

I could never, EVER work out without some music! I think it's the fact that I started out with aerobics classes way back when, so I always have to have something playing in my ear to exercise, especially running! OMG! I could never do it with just my thoughts! I'd run myself right off a bridge into the river!

Alisha - We did warm up to as high as 61 on Friday, but then by Saturday we had horrible winds and wind chills in the single digits again! We got a little bit of snow yesterday morning, but nothing stuck (whew!), but it's still cold. Back in the 40s for Thursday and Friday, but with rain on Fri. I hate this time of year! I think I hate it worse than winter! It gets nice for a couple of days to tease us, then drops back down and spits snow here and there. You didn't end up with a lot of snow, did you? I hope not! Thanks for trying to send nicer weather! It's the thought that counts! :D

I did find a FitnessFreak circuit rotation that I may throw in just long enough to do all my 1 RM tests again before starting STS. I'm hoping not to take more than 2 weeks to do that. Can't remember how long it took me last time, but I didn't do all of the exercises and, I think, I want to do them all this time. I have 4 more weeks on P90X! I'm so excited! I've sabotaged my progress with my bad eating this past week (see blog post - http://mercade.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/confessions-of-a-junk-food-junkie/). It's okay. I'm back on better eating habits today. I'm making me a clean pizza tonight! I've been craving, but not wanting store pizza because of how fattening it is! I think I'm going Hawaiian pizza! I have chicken, red bell pepper and pineapple and I'll use a clean homemade barbecue sauce on a whole wheat crust! OMG, I'm making myself so hungry! :p (we'll pretend that's a drooly face)

So, glad all is well with everyone. Stephen informed me this morning that these next 2 weeks he should be getting all his responses, or at least most of them, for his PhD applications. Please, please send positive thoughts and energy, pray, pluck a chicken or whatever to send him some good luck and a few yeses! Thank you in advance! I know I can count on you ladies!

Have a fab night!

Hi Cindi and Lisa! Thinking of you two!

Played hooky!

I was up late last night reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. So, of course I couldn't actually work this morning, instead I had to finish it. I did go out for a morning joggle though. I didn't want to miss my opportunity, the weather man is threatening us with snow on Friday. The thing is, its so sunny and warm. I'm not so sure that is going to happen after all. I cut my finger yesterday so I skipped the yoga. I did get my step workout in yesterday, I was not about to let a minor cut deter me. I might do a step workout tomorrow. It depends on how I feel or I might take a rest day.

Tricia-I'm sorry the wind was so bleh. There wasn't a lot of snow, it burned off by noon. I would eat that pizza!!! That sounds so good. I should make some.

Jane- I don't think I would leave the house without my ipod, even though I do turn it off sometimes. I hate having the wind in my ears.

Hi Cindi and Lisa!!!

Alisha - How are you enjoying GWDT? I had trouble with the really long boring explanatory sections. Zzzzzzz . . . . but overall I enjoyed the story from about 2/3 of the way in! lol

I hope the cut wasn't too bad! I hate cuts on my fingers! Ugh. Snow. Hopefully you won't get too much more! Stephen and Milo went running again today. He went a different way this morning and it was a bit better only 2' piles of snow! I'm still waiting for it to melt some more! I'm too accident prone to go out yet.

I need fresh wheat flour! It's going stale. I don't use it too often, but I do use it and I think I just had this batch a bit too long. I still polished off the pizza tonight for dinner!

Thanks for the positive energy! We're hoping for some really good news! He's also put in for a couple of really good job opportunities today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll hear something back on those!

I'm so ready for some positive news! I don't know how much longer I can keep going like this! Things have to change at some point, right?

Good Morning!

I forgot to check in yesterday. I did the Upper Body Premix from Cathe's High Rep workout.

Tonight I'm going for a run - probably around 3 miles or so.

Tricia ~ I got out of listening to music when I was going to the fitness boot camp. It was all grunts and groans but no music. I used to run with music but I stopped after a while. I'm just not comfortable being plugged in when I'm running around. I never listen to music when I race because I really want to be in the moment.

That pizza sounded mighty good!

I am sending Stephen lots of positive energy and good thoughts his way. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

Alisha/Tricia ~ Make sure to read the second and third books in the Dragoon Tattoo Series. They are fantastic!!! Everyone I know says the same thing about the first book but the second and third are incredible. I also watched the first 2 movies (Swedish version) and loved those as well.

My hairdresser saw both movies without reading the books and loved them although the book goes into more detail.

Alisha ~ Take care of your cut! I have tons of cuts and bruises from my tree chopping work over the weekend. I had the tree guy out on Tuesday and he is taking down 6 trees next week - 2 are dead, 1 is poisoned, 2 of the pine trees are dying and the other pine tree is too close to the house.

Hi to Lisa!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Jane- I have the second book, I have to buy 3/4 online. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Tricia-The first 1/2 of the book is a bit long. Luckily, I understood the jargon. It really shouldn't be called the girl with the dragon tattoo, it should be called Kalle Blomqist (spl.)

Today is a rest day. I have Harry Potter book club tonight. We always meetup at Ettore's in Sacramento. I will probably just get some soup. Their meals are a bit pricey.

Alisha

Jane - I do intend to read the rest of the books! We, too, saw both of the Swedish films and can't wait for the US versions to come out! Hope you had a great run! I'm so dying to get out there!

Alisha - Yeah, I kind of understood because of what Stephen does for a living (when he's working), but it was so boring! Yawn! I'm looking forward to the other books! Have fun at HP Book Club tonight!

I'm going to try to start working out in the mornings again. Sigh, have to work my way up to that again! My plan is to do all cardio, yoga, stretching in the mornings M-F and weights in the evening on Tues & Thurs and my 3rd day on either Sat or Sun. This will free up most of my weekday nights, so I can feel a bit more relaxed and not be running around every night! I hope this works! Actually, I hope I can get back into that early morning routine again! lol

Tricia-I did have fun at my HP book club. I had tomato soup and a walnut brownie. We talked about the upcoming HP events around the country. If I had money I would go to the Cathe trip in Orlando and double up with a visit to Harry Potter world in Universal.

I intend to do the Blast premix from Drill Max this afternoon. Its raining but I don't think it snowed last night. They had said snow in the forecast but nope, no snow.

Alisha

TGIF!!

This is my workout for this afternoon. It was raining earlier but now the sun is out. :D

5 Rounds
200m run
200m farmers walk
50 Step ups
50 Swings

Tricia ~ It will be interesting to see the difference between the US and the Swedish version of the Dragon Tattoo movie. Something tells me that I will like the Swedish version better.

Good luck on your morning workouts. I wish I could get up during the week and do morning runs but I would have to get up at 3:30am especially in the summers when it takes me longer to cool off. There's no way I could run, jump in the shower and get dressed. I would still be dripping sweat.

Alisha - Have fun with Drill Max! I'm glad you had fun at HP. I love tomato soup!!!

Hi Lisa!

Have a fantastic day!
