Alisha ~ Have fun at your party! QC = Joggles!

Hope everyone is having a fun Saturday!

Hi ladies,
Yesterday I did CC V1 with Charm my new foster dog. Today I did Bum Bum and Bum Bum Rapido.
Lisa

I was pretty sick yesterday. I was running a fever on Friday/Saturday. But, of course I did go for a joggle. I figure, hey if its gonna kill me I might as well go out happy on the road. I'm taking today off. Its a beautiful sunny day. I plan to go for a joggle again tomorrow.

Lisa- How is your new foster pup?

Jane- What flavors?

I have to bake a bundt cake tomorrow. I'm making cranberry orange with an orange glaze.

Alisha ~ I'm glad you took a rest day. Tsk...tsk...you should not be joggling with a fever. Enjoy the sunshine.

We made 2 sandwich cookies yesterday. The first one was chocolate cookies with marshmallow filling. Yummy! The cookie was more crisp than cakey. It was so good! The second sandwich cookie with peanut butter cookies filled with a peanut butter filling with chopped bittersweet chocolate. This got rave reviews too. I didn't eat it because I don't like peanut butter. The third cookie was a shortbread cookie with oatmeal with sprinkles on the side (a slice and bake cookie). These are fantastic. We've made them every year for Christmas for as long as I can remember.

Here was my workout for today. I was going to go on a long joggle but had too much to do.

1 mile run
50 swings
1 mile run
50 swings
1 mile run
50 swings

Waving hi to the rest of the gang!!

Jane - $300 gift card is nice! Amazing workout yesterday! Glad you didn't overdo the QC during baking! I only had 1 chocolate chip cookie during baking today! Yay! They're Stephen's favorite.

Alisha - I agree that you shouldn't have gone out with a fever! Take care of yourself and get well soon! I understand not wanting to hang around with people you don't care for! Hope you had a good time at your party!

Lisa - I'm glad you spoil your foster children! I wonder if their new owners keep up the runs/walks that you get them used to?

Hi Cindi! I know the holidays are a busy time for you! Hope you are enjoying it!

I grocery shopped today in the wind and rain after I did Cardio Core Circuit. After that, I started laundry, made myself a Shakeology shake for lunch with banana and PB to drink while I baked! I made Stephen's chocolate chip cookie dough, then started the bread in my new bread machine (yay!), then starting putting the cookies in the oven. After all that, I read a while until Stephen came home from his Linear Algebra review (he left at noon and didn't get home until 6), then I started some meat sauce for spaghetti. Just finished dinner and took the bread out of the machine. I have forgotten how wonderful fresh bread smells!

It's the first day of Month 2 of Insanity tomorrow!

Check in again afterwards! Have a great Monday!

I feel like I'm so behind on replies! Busy time of year of course.

So let's see - we had three concerts last week, Band, Orchestra, and Suzuki Strings. It was a nice week. Yesterday we made some chocolate bark, PB fudge, and toffee bars. Cookies are next week. We also decorated the gingerbread houses. :)

The chocolate bark I made was...
1-Semisweet chocolate with candied ginger, cardamom, and toasted coconut
2 - bittersweet chocolate with smoked almonds, dried figs, and sea salt
3 - white chocolate with crushed peppermint, pretzel, marshmallows

They are really good!

Workout wise I ran a little more than 4 miles Saturday and did some JM k'bells yesterday - her Level 2 workout which I will not do again because it seemed unsafe to me. Moved quickly, moves were hard to control, etc. I liked Level 1 but not Level 2.

Tricia - what a fun Christmas party! My company is huge but we don't do anything for Christmas. Bah humbug. I love fresh bread!

Jane - $300 gift card, awesome! And those cookies sound delicious. I love PB and chocolate. YUMMM.

Alisha - are you feeling better today?

Lisa - I love the dog pics you are putting on facebook. :)

Ok ladies - I hope you are having a wonderful morning. It is VERY cold here. I think about 5 this morning. And the forecast doesn't have us getting above freezing for at least the next 10 days. Sweater weather for sure.

Hi Everyone!

I took a rest day yesterday. Tonight I'm doing Week 2 - Meso 1 - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps.

We had a chilly morning at 25 degrees. It will get up into the upper 40's today and then really warm up during the next couple of days. Brrr!!

Cindi ~ Stay warm! I love your bark combinations! We are having another cookie baking day next Saturday. We used to make 25-30 different Christmas cookies every year. We have scaled down a lot the last couple of years. Hopefully next year, we can pick it back up again. I LOVE baking!!

Waving hello to the the rest of the gang. I hope everyone is staying warm!!

Today is yoga for lunch then Step Moves for dinner. I am feeling better. I made the bundt cake and it wouldn't come out of the pan:eek: So I served slices instead of a whole cake. Then, I made two gingerbread loaves with a Tasty Kitchen website recipe. That was fun. I was so good, I did not eat them!!! I only have one more 'diet challenge day' left this year, Friday is my Harry Potter Book club annual Holiday Bash. Butter Beer, treacle tart and whatever else we make. Its a good thing I exercise;)

Hi ladies! Ended up resting yesterday - my back was too stiff from Sunday.

I love baking too Jane. :)

Alisha - that sounds fun. Did you like the new movie?

Good lordy! Where did yesterday go? I think I may have been abducted by aliens! Could have sworn I checked in! Quick! Someone call Mulder!

Anyway . . ..

Cindi - I know exactly how you feel! I may not have all that extracurricular activity with kids, but time is just getting away from me more and more each day! Your baking sounds so delicious! Brrr! You are way colder than we are!

Jane - Lucky you, getting warm temps! I know, I chose to live up here! ;)

Alisha - Glad you're feeling better! I'm with you! If it wasn't for exercise, I'd be a blimp! Oh, wait, I was a blimp before I started working out again! I won't EVER let that happen again!

Lisa - I hope you're all dug out and staying warm!

I got a goodie package from my dad today! Mexican sweet breads and cookies! Yum! I'm so excited! Had one after my very healthy lunch today! I save the molletes for breakfasts on the weekends. I try to only have one, but sometimes I can't help myself and just have to have 2!

Why is it that right when I get in the middle of one rotation, I start dying to do a different one? I'm so itching to get back into STS or get P90X! Of course, I'll start and wish I were doing something else when I'm in the middle of that! lol Go figure! Insanity Max workouts are going well. I'm burning a lot more calories and just can't do anything else afterwards! Oh well, I'll know to do add-on workouts during the first month next time!

Well, I'm starting to freeze because I jumped on immediately after my workout and I'm still super sweaty! Time to go clean up, change, feed the pets and find me some dinner!

Have a great night everyone!

Hi ladies,
Sorry to be so out of touch but I have been snowed in more than not lately. Yesterday I did Ellen Barrett's Slim Sculpt. The day before I did two rounds of the lower body exercises from AOS Providence plus High and Tight. This combo is my new favorite lower body mix. It really tightens things up. I really like UB/LB splits because I like to workout everyday. That said, I haven't worked out this morning. I may try to check out the new gym in town this evening and hop on an elliptical or maybe I'll try to run at the park or maybe I won't work out at all.

Tricia - Most people don't keep up the runs/walks but the dogs sure do love them. I think exercise is very pack-building and actually one of my next notes for FB/Positive Paw blog will be on the pack-building aspects of exercise and then one on how to start running/start running with your dog. Oh yeah, I tore the plastic guard underneath my car apart last night blasting through the snow drift that the plow blocked my driveway with. Fun stuff.

Cindi - Thanks! Most of my pics on FB and in real life involve critters  Glad you like them.

Alisha - Charm is doing great. She's housetraining well and has graduated to sleeping on the bed. My dogs don't hate her as much as they do most fosters so we're doing well all around. She's very cute and funny and just wants to be with you and interact with you. She's going to be the Christmas present for my brother John's family. She will have 5 little kids to keep happy and entertained and I think she is just going to love it.

Jane - I'm sorry to hear that!! Unfortunately 25 sounds almost tropical. It's been 11 degrees and blowing hard here. My dogs don't want to go outside and just a couple minutes outside hurts their feet. 40s sound magical... It's supposed to start snowing again tonight here.

Lisa

Tricia - I have problems with rotations too. I think I'm probaby better suited to monthly rotations. STS in particular - I really enjoyed Meso 1 and 2 but by Meso 3 I was done. P90X I was kind of the same - the first two cycles were good but by the third one I was getting tired of it.

The new FIRM express workouts arrived yesterday so I did 3 of those last night to make an hour workout. Each workout is 20 minutes long. They were good. Fun!

Tonight I will run while Honor's at Tennis.

I am taking a rest day, I think. I have to go grocery shopping, bake a treacle tart for Harry Potter club and edit 4 movies. I hope to squeeze in a hike, but we shall see.

Cindi- I never did any of those firm workouts.

Lisa- I agree, exercise is pack building. Every time I go for a joggle there are dogs in peoples yards that are starved for exercise and they get to joggle for about 6 acres with me (in their fence.) and I'll be darned if they aren't convinced I'm in their pack. Of course I have been doing this joggle thing for 2 years and they get to see me 3x a week, so maybe that helps. Charm sounds like a great dog.

Tricia- I tend to get bored with pre-packaged rotations even if I made them myself. I just can't imagine looking at the same backdrop for that long. Maybe I have DVD ADD. :D

Jane- Its been a balmy 36 deg. so if you want to visit warmer weather you can always come for a visit.

Hi Everyone,

I forgot to post yesterday.

Yesterday I did STS Legs and tonight it's STS Back and Triceps.

This is the first rotation I'm doing. It's been a nice change of pace but I'm not sure I'm doing a second month. I'll decide when I finish with this month.

It's warming up here. It is suppose to be 69 today and the lows are in the 30's and 40's so not too bad.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi ladies,
Today I did Supersets. I have to go to Raleigh tonight. I hope to find a hotel with an elliptical but we'll see.
Lisa

Hi ladies. I have a cold so I didn't workout yesterday. Too much sneezing and nose blowing. Have a lot to wrap up at work today and then I'm on vacation for two weeks. Just puttering around the house with kids and enjoying the season.

I'll be around, but not daily.

Good grief, Charlie Brown! Have I really forgotten to visit since the 14th??? I'm a slacker and I'm ashamed of myself!:eek::eek:

Lisa - Sorry to hear you've been snowed in so much! As you know, my dogs love to go out with us! Unfortunately, they haven't been in a while. School for Stephen has been a nightmare these last few weeks and he's got one more final to go!

Cindi - I love the rotations because it means I know exactly what I'm doing each day, but I also get a bit tired even if it's different workouts! Maybe I need a 6 week rotation?

Jane - Glad you're enjoying STS right now! I like the results I got from STS last year! I may have to do something unique with it - not sure what though!

Alisha - Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday! Hope you've had a great Friday!

I'm officially on vacation! Just finished Insanity Max Interval Circuit. I'm wiped, as usual! :p I realized I hadn't been on, but I thought I had only missed a day!

Going to go get dry and dressed in warm clothes - it's been in the 30s these last 2 days and that feels warm compared to where we were - then I've got to come up with something for dinner! I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow! I won't promise because I think I did that last time and lost a few days! :(

See you soon!

I took yesterday as a rest day. I had a big party to attend in the evening. Harry Potter forever:D

ok. So, today is probably going to be Kathy Smith's step circuit. I expect to spend the day on the computer editing. Yippee. Its the last movie!!!! Then its compression and authoring time!

I ordered a new hrm yesterday and some Cathe Dvds. My Polar F4 seems to be dead. I had replaced the battery but now only half the digits are visible, full strength/dark but I can't read it. I'm going to attempt another battery replacement but I did order the Garmin 305. I hope its not so huge that I hate it.

Cindi- I hope you are feeling better.

Lisa- I tend to pick hotels based on if they have a gym.

Tricia- Its been really rainy. We have small stream flood warnings so I'm staying inside. I hope Stephen's finals went well, I remember how intense finals were in college.

Hi All,

I have been MIA the past couple of days. I've just been really busy. I did not workout (as planned) on Thursday and on Friday I had to stop at mom's so I didn't have time. I did STS Meso 1 Back and Triceps yesterday afternoon after a marathon baking session.

Today I'm going for a 6 or 7 mile run. I haven't run much in the last couple of weeks and need to get back on the horse. I signed up for a 15K at the end of January, a 12K in February, a 1/2 marathon in March and another 1/2 in November. Yikes!!

Cindi/Tricia ~ Enjoy your time off. I'm looking forward to this week at work as it will be quiet and lots of people take off. Last week we had the big guys in the office so it was a little "tense". I did have a great performance review but no $$$ because my company is not doing good but at least I have a job!

Waving hi to Alisha and Lisa!
