Jogglers - December 2010!

Hi everyone! Glad Tricia got Alisha and me sorted out - I thought I lost my mind and completely forgot I had done yoga! :)

Busy busy weekend - I drove the boys up to Milwaukee for a Table Tennis tournament saturday but did get in 4 miles when we got home. Yesterday church consumed my day until noon (cooking for the homeless all morning with the middle school kids), then it was housecleaning and cooking dinner (salmon and latkes).

Running and weights at the gym tonight.

Next weekend is the big baking weekend! Two concerts this week, one next weekend - so the holiday season continues.
 
Hi,
I just got out of the house for the first time since last week. Saturday morning I just did the UB from Supersets (the short premix) and Namaste yoga because I was going to split and haul firewood. The snow had other ideas. I drive fine in the snow. The idiots who live around me do not. A guy lost control of the backend of his pickup and almost took me, the Subaru and the dogs out so we turned around and went back home while we were still in one piece. Yesterday I did Ellen Barrett's Yogini and High and Tight and baked cookies (chocolate chip and fruit and nut oatmeal bars). Today I did the UB Blast from Supersets and the abs from Butts and Guts.

One word: Flu. My brother had it, then last night I had it. I am hoping that my folks will skip it. It was gross:confused: Thats not a confused smiley, its a nauseous one. So my big plans to double up the workouts today are not going to happen. I did not even go work on the computer.

I took an unplanned rest day. I had a meeting at work that ran overtime and then I had to go to mom's afterwards.

Lisa ~ I'm so glad you and the dogs are ok!! Chocolate chip cookies and fruit and nut bars sound good!!! Yum!

Cindi - Sorry about my confusion! I do that sometimes! You have a very busy couple of weeks! I'm sure the concerts will be wonderful! Have fun baking!
And, just so you and Alisha know, the yoga session you can't remember doing, is the one where you meditate so well during the routine, you leave your body and have no memory of it! lol

Lisa - Wow! Glad you guys were safe! I hate people who can't drive! They are the ones who should just stay home when the weather's snowy or rainy, etc. At least it affords you the time to get some workouts done!

Alisha - {{{{HUGS}}}} The flu is so awful! Hope you and your brother are well soon!

Jane - How is your mom doing?

Let's see, what did I do last night? Oh, yes! I'm on my rest week from Insanity, which means 40 minutes of Core Cardio & Balance each day. It's barely burning 150 cals, so I also did Cathe's Timesaver Kickbox & Shoulders. Much better! Managed 395 calories total last night. It's enough to keep my calorie burn up, but not work me too hard. Next week starts the longer Insanity workouts. I have weight work planned to add on each day, but will have to see how wiped I am from these workouts!

Who has snow today? We got a couple inches over the weekend but I hear NY, PA are getting hit hard.

Ran and did upper body and core with the boys at the gym last night. Will do a run today before the Band concert.

Good Afternoon!

I am starting STS today. I think chest, shoulders and biceps are on tap. I'm excited!

Cindi ~ No snow here but lows have been in the 20's. Today it's 49 and sunny but brrr! I'm not used to this cold weather! I have no winter clothes to wear. Good thing I have a heater in my office. I'm glad I'm inside tonight doing STS.

Tricia ~ Mom is doing fantastic! Every day she is more and more like her old self. Her energy is coming back and she has been able to go into work. She still has some lingering side effects but otherwise she is doing good. My sisters and I are all going to mom's house on Saturday for a massive cookie baking day. I can't wait!!

I would add another workout on as well. Good job! I think you'll be able to handle the longer Insanity workouts without any problem!

I only went for a low intensity hike today. I didn't even manage a yoga session. But, hey I'm not in the bathroom anymore:eek: I plan to do some sort of step workout tomorrow.

I will catch up to the personals later, thanks for all the healing vibes and energy, I really appreciate it!

old school style today

"Y O G A yoga yoga yeah yeah" is what my Dad sings when he heres that I'm doing yoga. This isn't his second childhood, we are still in his first:p

I did Kathy Smith's Yoga Basics this morning. I plan to delve back into my VHS Buns of Steel 6 workout later today. I'm in a VHS mood, go figure.:rolleyes:

Lisa- Firewood Max sounds muy caliente!!!

Jane- STS sounds like fun!!! I am so glad your Mom is doing well.

Cindi- I haven't had any snow but we were below freezing on Thanksgiving. But now its warming up, we have rain. It was actually really sunny yesterday.

Tricia- I do the same thing, I use add-on workouts until I hit enough of a calorie burn, I just hate to get all dressed up to workout and then have it not even delete one cookie's worth of calories.
 
Hi all! last night was a quick 30 minute run then a band concert. Orchestra concert tomorrow.

so tired

But, I plan a joggle this afternoon anyway. I'm doing an easy one. I normally aim for 45-60 min. but I'm still recovering from that flu thing and I was just sooo tired this morning. I plan to also get some yoga in afterwards. I spent the morning doing grocery-shop-max. I also made tapioca with the Trader Joe's Bourbon Vanilla. mmmmm.... Its a good thing I use a measuring 1/4 cup because otherwise I would eat it all in one gulp.:p Depending on the weather (forecast looks good.) I will also do a joggle tomorrow too. During this time of the year I take advantage of the dry days even if that means joggles one two days in a row.

Jane- I bet you are feeling it right now.

Cindi- How was the concert?

Alisha ~ Don't push yourself if you are tired. You don't want to get that old flu bug again.

I did STS back and triceps.

My legs are starting to feel the workout from last night. It's not too bad. We are warming up tomorrow into the 60's. YAY!!

Hi everyone. Good concert last night. Will try to do K'bells tonight but I think I will end up shopping for groceries for the weekend bakefest. Running planned for Saturday, weights on Sunday.
 
I did go for a shorter 30 min. joggle yesterday and I finished up with a 30 min. yoga today practice. Today might be more of the same. I don't really feel like step. weird.:confused: I am feeling a bit better. I made myself a batch of fiber brownies yesterday. Tastes great, less filling;)

12/8 - 12/10 replies! Wow, I really have missed a lot! I'm not sure why except for last night. We had our office Christmas party.

Alisha - I'm going to get this right this time! Glad you got some nice yoga in! :D

Jane - I always feel it in my legs after an STS leg workout! I never get used to it! Lucky you! 60s! We're going to be in the 40s tomorrow! Warm compared to the rest of this week!

Hi Lisa - How goes Firewood Max? Still at it?

Okay, we had our Christmas party last night. We got off work at 4 and I had every intention of coming home and working out first, but decided to get a little Christmas shopping done for Stephen and the kiddos. I also needed to pick up a Christmas card for a bloggers recipe swap. So, I ran errands, came home, sat down for a few minutes. I was so tired and laid down, but decided that wasn't a good idea! The food was fabulous and one of the bosses surprised us and came out dressed like Monty Hall, black wig and tacky suit, and did a Let's Make a Deal gift thing for us employees. What gifts! There was a $750 and a $500 gift in cash each! They gave away an iPad and I got 3 Cuisinart appliances - panini griddle, bread machine and food processor, plus the specialty cookbooks to go with them. There was also a 42" flat screen tv, but nobody picked that gift. All the presents were wrapped and we had to pick without touching or shaking (darn it!). It was a lot of fun! All this and bonuses!

I'm still exhausted tonight, so didn't work out again. Getting back on the horse tomorrow, so to speak!

Tricia ~ Congrats on the loot that you got from your Xmas party. Wow...you work for a great place. We get a $300 Visa gift card which is great. We are having 2 parties but I'm only going to the party that is in the office. I don't have much in common with the folks I work with and there are 2 guys that I choose not be around. I have to work with them and that's enough!

I did the following workout tonight. It was warmer out tonight.

10 reps of each of the 4 exercises for 20 minutes
Hand to Hand Swings
Jump Squats
Weighted Sit ups
Rotating squats on the step

I ran around the block as warm up.

The temperature is warming up this weekend, then going to be colder in the beginning of the week and then back up into the 70's by next weekend!!

Alisha ~ yum brownies!! Tomorrow is our big baking day. I'm going to try to be good but I know I will be doing some quality control! ;)

I'm dressed ready to go for a joggle. I may have to attend a party this evening for work. Bleh. No fun. But, luckily its only 2 hours long!!! I won't be eating the snacks served, I just stick to a soda (I rarely have those.)
