Thanks For Letting Me Know

You know, when I have been a member of Cathe Nation for 3 years now and have just started blogging about my weight loss. When I posted something about Cathe a few days ago, I got such an overwhelming response that I thought people would want to hear more...especially since it is EXACTLY what is being discussed on the forums. I am actually so NOT about shameless self promotion and, in fact, removed all the "Vote for Me" links that were offered on the blogging service I subscribe to because I felt they were embarrassingly tacky. And trust me, I would never have been so open with you about something if I thought for one second it was offending anyone.

So, friends, I have added the address to my blog in my signature if, and only if, you are interested in seeing it.

Thanks again for letting me know. I appreciate you taking the time to express your wonderful support and/or put me in my place. As I said, I'm learning all this at a rapid pace and need to know the good and the bad.

All the best to each and every one of you. I so love Cathe, her crew and all of you at Cathe Nation. It is a comfort to know you are out there!

Warmest,
Elizabeth

Spam? Maybe not, but self serving indeed. If you post promoting your new blog as often as people post their minutiae on twitter then I can see why you can be marked as a spammer.

Good luck in your weight loss.

I read your link and had to laugh. This was so good and I can relate. Sorry, I cannot see a problem here. Cannot understand the banishment. But I do not blog. Don't let it bother you. Just go on somewhere else and avoid the couple of words. Just take it as a lesson on posting. Normally I think a couple of words are pretty much ignored but then you never know;)

I don't know quite how I'd feel about being banned from a forum, let me think . . . gee, I don't think I'd care! Unless, of course, it was from this one! All of my fitness friends are here and without this group of encouraging, intelligent people, I would probably still weight over 150 pounds instead of the lithe 126 pounder I am now!

Well, take it in stride Elizabeth, you still have us and I think it would take a whole lot get banned from this forum!

I have read two of your blog posts so far and find them extremely entertaining! Keep it up!

Hang in there! Just find a techy friend to fill you in on the pings and tweets of the internet these days! I have my own in-house computer geek, so I get real-time info!

I checked out your blog while eating my lunch! Very funny :D Good luck with your weight loss journey!!

I've read your blog-very entertaining.

But, think about this-If everyone posted on thier blog, then came here to the o/p forum or any forum for that matter, and made an announcement e-v-e-r-y-t-i-m-e they made an entry on said blog it would become very annoying, very quickly, would it not? Your posts here are like commercials for your blog.

I'm not sure but I think there is a way to put a link to your blog in your signature, then anyone that sees it can just click on it and read it and you wont need to advertise it constantly.

I too find your blog to be very entertaining. I think if you go to the user cp you should be able to put it in your signature. This way could you join in discussions without the self promotion of your blog.

Good luck on your weight loss journey. Sorry you were banned from another blog spot.

Yep, Tamrahan

I've read your blog-very entertaining.

Sorry, but I have to agree - I know you think your blog is the greatest ever out there, hilarious & all that, but please let us read it & come to that conclusion ourselves. I've read some of your blog, but the self promoting part leaves me cold. So please, as Tamrahan suggested, put a link to your blog in your signature, and when we want to read it, we'll click on it.

I totally and completely agree! Even if you do not intend to come across as a spammer, it does appear that way. Take the advice of those here and put it in your signature and quit the self promotion. JMHO!

I would LOVE to add it as my signature instead of updating every time! I've actually been trying to do that for four days. I've been able to update a few things on my profile but it doesn't seem to be giving me options for signatures, the workout DVDs I'm using, etc. I sent a tech support ticket in a few days ago, but with the holiday I'm sure they just haven't gotten to it.

Also...I've made my Avatar but have been unable to successfully upload it.

If any of you are in the know on this, please let me know.

All the best to you...and thanks for the support!

Warmest,
Elizabeth

Kewl...I have to respectfully disagree with you on this point. I would never write or speak about someone without directly telling them about it. This applies to friends and professional connections. I sent a message directly to Cathe and her crew on the Ask Cathe forum on two occasions...both about blog entries that specifically mentioned her. To the open forum, I have posted four times, incuding entries about Cathe, as well as clean eating, dating weight, etc. I also let the people at Cathe.com know I was writing a blog that had a lot of Cathe references. I would much rather tell Cathe directly than have her see several posts on the open discussion boards. I think it is the most respectful way.

As for the other points you've made...I have added my blog address to my signature so as not to force anyone to read something they are not interested in reading.

All the best to you!

Elizabeth

I can understand the temptation to share about your blog! I've gotten where I mainly only post about my blog if I'm doing something like a Cathe-related giveaway (which reminds me--I still haven't gotten a response from the second winner of my recent giveaway--anyone know a Zoe?--she won the second drawing). I put my blog link in my signature, though.

Good luck blogging!
