It's my birthday and want a new workout!

Hi everyone,
As a single parent, I seem to just pay on bills constantly! Well, I taught a line dance class last night and decided I would like a new workout.

I started with Cathe many years ago and at that time, loved to JUST do step. Well, now, I love the circuit workouts! With working full-time and other commitments my time is limited so maybe that's why.

I love Bootcamp, Low-Impact Circuit and Drill Max. What other workouts would you recommend? I heard about Amy Bento but am not familiar with any of her workouts. Would you recommend any of hers? I have a high step, too.

Thank you very much for your help!

Happy Birthday, Patti!!!
For a great interval training - both of the high step training dvds are great! I really like them.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

I second the above poster's suggestion!

I happen to like HSTA more then HSC personally but both of them are gaurunteed to kick your butt all over the place!}(

You could also consider The Terminator DVD. It's 3 circuit work outs all derived from portions of the Intensity Series (Imax 2, Muscle Endurance, Cardio & Weights, Boot Camp...). Great calorie burners there!

I don't particularly like the high step workouts-they are hard!}( But, you cannot go wrong with a Cathe workout.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!!!

I don't know what your finances allow, but you might want to look into 4DS. You'll get short cardio (30 min) followed by weight training, working different groups of muscles each day. Most of the wo's clock in at or near one hour.

Whatever you get I'm sure it will be fantastic. :)

Oh yes, I agree -- the 4DS would be an excellent choice. I love that one -- but I sub with my own cardio ;)

Hi Patti,

It is my birthday too...so we share that.

I can't do step anymore so I mostly do kickboxing and some circuits.

I do recommend Amy Bento's Xtreme Kickbox... it is a very good high intensity workout that I just did this afternoon.

It does take a couple of time doing it to 'get it' but it is well worth it and I DON'T recommend trying the premixes first. Even if you just go through the workout one interval and combo at a time you need to learn them first before trying the premixes but there are tons of premixes to choose from.

Happy Birthday!!!:7 :7 :) :D

Happy Birthday! I like Jari Love's DVDs, especially the Get Ripped 1000. It has weights and cardio. While I have all of hers (I think there are 5 total), this one is my favorite of hers. The others are great too, but if you want an all out DVD, this is a good one. None of her stuff is tricky - very straightforward. And the good news is that Ross often has her DVDs - I got the Ripped 1000 there for 4.99. She is a lot like Cathe in that she is not annoying, she makes you sweat, and she's very motivating. The only equipment needed is a step and dumbells.

I just wanted to say thanks for the Birthday "wishes" and for the workout suggestions!!! I'm on my way to Applebees for supper with my mom and son and will check out the suggestions later! I really appreciate all of your advice!

4DS is great, I do the Double Cardio and Cardio Power premixes so I get an hour or so of Cardio each time.
IMO, any of Cathe's workouts you don't own now, you eventually will.
The Hardcore, Intensity, and Body Blasts series are all good.
Being a divorced home owner, I consider my workouts to be an investment in my health and well-being not just some regular purchase.

Have a Great Friday!!

I just finished Patrick Goudeau's Hard Work Conditioning and I must say, it was very fun and quite a workout! There's all sorts of variety - cardio, compound moves, balance moves. Check out the clip on Collage.
