~ * ~It's a Very Melty Monday MELTERS! ~ *

Cathlete
Good Morning!

I did a new I-Tread this morning, one of the flat/fast ones ( Shelly would like it!)...

Just getting us started..hope to be back in a bit..lots going on here yesterday!

Deb:)

Good Morning!

I don;t know if I will be able to get through all of yesterdays posts, but will try!

Shannon:
Glad you had a good time at Moms ..too bad about the tirex( ..I agree we are NOT losers! We are winners one and all!:D

Leanne:
I didn;t end up doing the BFL thing with 70's music...somehow Slow & Heavy was calling out to me!...I did Legs & Shoulders and will do the others in a "one body part per day" method, with 20 minutes of HIIT cardio, and longer cardio on the other day. Nice to hear you had a good time with DH ALONE! I wish we could all meet in SD with you and Tneah. :) I get my lip and eyebrows waxed...that's as "low" as I go!
:7

Tneah:
Tell DH to keep the negative comments to himself! Don't you hate when they do that? Mine is so afraid to tell me anything negative anymore, so when I ask him for an "honest opinion" he lies! ( he says he doesn't but I know better!)..how nuts is that?

Robin:
Did you do 4DS all upper body? I keep saying I want to try that pre-mix, but it is so long and I usually don;t have that kind of time.

Allison:
I hear you on the working thing..how would you like to be at the same place for 35 years????}(

BreckGirl:
Don;t beat yourself up too much..it was a holiday weekend and you deserve to enjoy yourself!

Kristi:
How great that you and your family are so dedicated doing things for others that are not as lucky as us! You certainly are raising those girls to be great adults!

Lainie:
I like the S&H rotation you have..I'm doing one with it this week too, only one body part per day. ( except for Legs & Shoulders which I did yesterday)

Peggie:
Your state/town sound lovely! Do you have really hard winters? I know a few people that live in Montana...tough going on the border.

Where has Jennifer been?

Hello to anyone I missed...have to go and get the spitfire out before going to work!

Deb:D

Good morning Melters -

Stuck to my plan and did supersets this morning. Yay me.

Deb - We do have some bad winters but we have been in a drought for the last 7 or 8 years and the winters have been pretty mild, but we are about due for a bad one.

I will write more after work.

Good morning melty, wordsmith maidens. Boy, we chatted up a storm over the weekend, didn't we?

Deb, I ended up doing Nap Max when I got home from work yesterday. I have a urinary tract infection and I think between that and work, I was exhausted. Luckily, working in the lab, I could do my own testing and my doctor was on call yesterday, so I was able to get antibiotics with no muss or fuss. I feel better today, but have no idea what workout to do.

I made the mistake of stepping on the scale over the weekend. The 3 pounds I melted off from my extended birthday party have snuck back on. I knew I wasn't melting, but I thought I was holding steady, since I've been pretty good about no snacking. I guess I've been eating bigger portions than I should.:( So it's Monday and I have to try to drag myself back up onto the wagon. Peggie, I kind of like your rotation for this week and may try it, using step and CC in place of the itreads.

We are taking Tristan back to Scranton this afternoon. We have to drive by this:http://www.theshoppesatmontage.com/, so I may ask DH to stop and see if anything good is on sale. Although I'm not sure I feel much like standing in front of a mirror today. We'll see. Oh, and Jay has left for Afghanistan, so I would appreciate any prayers, vibes, whatever-you-do for him in the next 4 months of so. Later all.

Mornin', ladies!!

Here we are, it's Monday again. x( But we'll manage, won't we?

Deb - you and those iTreads! I do believe you're an addict. :7

Peggy - yay you! You know, our winters have been much milder than they used to, too. I could handle some snow!

Robin - Ick - I hope your UTI clears up fast. How miserable. Maybe those three pounds are muscle - at any rate, don't worry too much. When I used to check the scale, I'd go back and forth by that much from day to day.

So, my tire has a very slow leak. It didn't go down all weekend, except by maybe a pound. I'm carrying a small air compressor with me, just in case it decides to deflate in the parking lot today. But I expect the leak will actually be too small for a fix-it guy to find.

I had a nice walk Sunday, but boy was it humid! I left at 9:30 a.m., and by the time I got back sweat was trickling down my back, etc., and it was already 85 degrees. It got up to 90-something later on.

I also did a bit of watercoloring. I didn't like the one I started last week, so I trashed it and started a new one. Much better, so far.

Yesterday did ME and went up a bit on weights. Whew. A few pounds makes a lot of difference in that workout, because she moves so fast, especially on those leg presses. Good grief, those felt more like cardio than weights!

I will do Cardio Fusion when I get home today. Pray for me. :p

It's gonna be one of those days, my friends.

Still no A/C in this freakin' office, I am overloaded with work, three people are out of the office today, I have to meet with my school group tonight and haven't done a lick of homework, and I didn't get up to workout so now I don't think I'll be able to at all.

I'm on a rampage, I swear. I'm about to scream.

Allison

Good morning Melties! Hope everyone had a nice sleep. Mine was too short. But I got up at 4 and did an iCycle. I’m a little pi$$ed though. I had emailed customer service for iTrain, and asked which iCycles and iTreads that song I hate was on. Wasn’t sure if they could tell me, but I thought I’d ask. Well, they said 28 – 31 sets did NOT have this song. But guess what? I purchased iCycle 28, did it this morning, and the song was on it. I know it seems like a small thing, but I that freakin song grates on my nerves and I won’t do it again. So I feel like I wasted money based on information THEY provided. GRRRR.

Enough of the rant. I did the workout. Probably do PUB when I get home – Lainie’s idea made me remember how much I love that workout. Maybe a short cardio, too.

Deb – which iTread was the flat and fast one you liked? I’m still shopping for more, even though I’m perturbed with them. x(

Robin – sorry about the UTI! That bites. Have fun shopping!!! Jay will certainly be in my prayers. Which branch of the military is he in?

Peggie – WTG on the workout this a.m.! See, I knew you’d pull it all together again. ;)

Tneah – thanks for the info from last night. 1599 calories, huh? At one point, this lady had me eating almost 1800. And so much protein, it was ridiculous. I started wondering if my body was rejecting so much protein. ?? Dunno. Let us know how that Target workout goes – I may have to run right out and get it too!

Allison – sorry it’s so hot. I hate being hot – ESPECIALLY inside. Do you have a fan you can point at you?

Shannon – didn’t know you painted! How cool is that? Man, I haven’t done ME in a long time. Hmmm… perhaps I should dust that one off sometime soon. I LOVE cardio fusion. :)

Hey everyone else! BBL to check in with you lovely ladies.

Morning All:)

Deb, good girl with your workout, as a walker with the itreads, I prefer the hills I think, its not as tough (well its still super hard of course) for me, I do not walk as fast on the hills, but feel obligated to crank it up on the flat lands and I hate it.}( Well, hate is a strong word. Oh, and I with ya on those marathon workouts, 45-60 minutes is a perfect. Anymore and I am a grouchy chica.

Robin, ouchers on the UTI. I used to get those alot, gosh I hate 'em. Good you got the meds though. I take cranberry extract everyday to avoid these miserable infections. And of course my thoughts and prayers are with Jay.Does he think we will ever find Osama?

Shannon, I thought of you yesterday, there was this really cool sunset at dusk over the water, perfect for a watercolor artist. You would have loved it! Your weather sounds humid like it is here, although we are enjoying temps in the upper 70's not 90's! Cathe moves fast in every workout except slow and heavy, good for you increasing those weights, leg presses always feel like cardio to me!

Peggy, good for you getting that workout in this morning!

BG, before I forget, on the program I did, I did the cardio I mentioned and my weight workouts either right after cardio in the am or right before cardio in the pm. They lasted about 1 hour, and I did them 4 days a week, splitting my bodyparts up. Long arse workouts for sure. I was eating about 180 grams of protein a day since my carbs were so low. So you might not agree with that, I think high protein can be good for some, not so good for others.

Allison, just keep remembering how much fun you had with boytoy and it'll help you get through your day!

Hi to Leanne, Lainie, Kristi, Kara!

I will be back later to chat, the guys from work are down this morning and staying all week, along with a group of business people from SLC, in fact, let me find out whats up with that Leanne. We take the boat to Coronada Island and will be having lunch with the associates there on Thursday, I need to find out about that, Friday might be a better day? I of course will let you know...

Here is my workouts this week:

Monday: Am cardio followed by Red Carpet Ready Workout

Tuesday: Am cardio....heavy back and shoulders pm workout at gym

Wednesday: Am cardio followed by Red Carpet Ready Workout

Thursday: AM cardio followed by heavy glute workout at gym

Friday: Am cardio...Red Carpet Ready Workout

Saturday: cardio only

Sunday: rest--might fit in a kettleball workout to see what its like?

This will hit that arse and back/shoulders hard, plus everything else gets worked with the Red Carpet Ready...hum. I just hope I do not get bored with that workout. Circuits are not my thang ya know? But will attempt this and let you all know how it goes.

Hi, all,
I know I'm way behind, but I just wanted to pop in and say "hi!" to all you awesome, wonderful Melty Maidens!

I am on one of DD's laptops because my computer has shut itself down twice this morning!!!x( I am really foul this morning -- the computer is apparently slowly dying, my red chair is still messed up (someone is coming tomorrow to look at it), my elliptical console is still not working right, my washer is making so much noise that it sounds like it's going to conk at any moment, aunt flo is here and isn't supposed to be, I have about 8 jillion loads of laundry that I didn't do over the weekend b/c the girls were doing theirs, etc., etc.

Sorry to dump, but just wanted you all to know why I may not be around much! I'm about to do a Hip Hop Workout DVD with my DDs, then I'll do KPC by myself.

Have a great day! Sorry again to dump my yuckness, but thanks for letting me vent!!!

Allison - are they letting you dress casual and comfy so you can endure the heat? Why is it taking them so long to fix the darned thing???

BG - yep, 4 is early! I get up at 4:30 every day for work. x( But it means I beat the rush hour traffic!

Tneah - That sunset must have been beautiful. We're landlocked, and I can't remember if I've ever actually seen a sunset or -rise over the ocean. Good luck with those circuits - I know exactly how you feel!

Kristi - well, your Monday has started off with a bang. Let's hope this week has gotten all its nastiness over with at once! Maybe the rest of the week will just cruise on by....

I'm hungry. 10 a.m., and I'm already hungry. Sigh. Once I eat breakfast, I can go clear until like, oh, 2 p.m. on weekends without even thinking about food. But get me to work and sit me in front of this computer, and all I want to do is eat. :p

Good morning, Melty Maidens!

I slept in until almost 7:00 this morning, and I went to bed at 9:15 last night! So how come I'm still tired?! ;-)

Gosh, my chest is still sore from doing my GS workout on Thursday. My chest is one of the few body parts where I always get DOMS, but this time it's really bad. I think I shouldn't have tried to keep up with the weights I used last time I did that workout. Today I have Amy B In the Ring scheduled, but I may swap it out for her Hi/Lo one since I've had this one song off it in my head since yesterday. :)

Deb -- LOL about "as low as you go"! I've never tried doing the just one body part per day. Keep us posted on how you like it! S&H is one of my favorite series. I always feel the burn on those workouts!

Peggie -- Hooray for a good start to your plan for the week! :)

Robin -- Yes, this was a busy weekend for us wordsmiths, wasn't it? The weekend before, it was so quiet around here. Sounded like that Nap Max yesterday was just what you needed; those UTI's can really take their toll on your body. I'll be sure to send prayers and positive vibes Jay's way! Once these four months are over, will he have to go back? We'll help keep you motivated to start melting, OK? :)

Shannon -- Ug about your tire! New ones are just so expensive. Glad you had a chance to do some painting yesterday! What kind of scene are you working on? I knew you got up early everyday, but 4:30 is really early! It's probably so nice to get done early, too! Can you have a healthy snack?

Allie -- Take a deep breath, sweetie! Sorry that your day is off to a bad start! {{{HUGS}}}!! Did you at least have fun hanging out with your Boy Toy yesterday?

BG -- Sorry that your sleep wasn't great last night -- and how awful about that iCycle SNAFU! Maybe you can call them again and let them know about their mistake . . . .

Tneah -- LOL about your Callenetics workout yesterday! I had one of workouts ages ago (back in the early 80's!) and I'd thought about trying them again. Maybe I'll stick to Squeeze instead. Ah, yes! We could type to each other if we get shy! Hooray for getting the KB yesterday! Do you think you might have any room to do it on the boat? Could you take it to the hotel gym where you work out? Yes, the waxing isn't too bad -- the first time is the worst! During the summer, my person said that she has people come in every couple of weeks, but it's expensive, so I try to space out my appointments a bit more. Here's the place I go to if you're interested: http://www.beehivewaxingsalon.com/. It's this adorable little salon (they actually just remodeled and doubled the size a few months ago) that is all decorated in Shabby Chic attire. The owner (who I go to; her name is Genie) is lovely, too! I was thinking the same thing about Dove -- I love Cathe's bod so much more! I'm still thinking about those workouts, but I don't think I'll end up getting them. About the lunch plans, I actually try not to drive down to San Diego on Fridays (the traffic is always awful -- when I used to get my hair done on Friday afternoons, it would take me 1 1/2 hours to get home!), so could we shoot for next week instead? The only day I can't next week is Tuesday since it's Mike's b-day. :) Your workout plan looks good! If you decide to throw in that KB workout, then maybe add your rest day the next day so you're not working upper body the day after doing the KB workout.

Kristi -- Sending you great big {{{HUGS}}}!! You poor thing! How awful that your computer is still acting up, that beautiful new chair is still messed up, and so much else is going wrong! Take a deep breath, and remind yourself that it'll all get done. Besides, if you can't get the laundry done, then that's a good excuse not to go out today, right?! ;-) More {{{HUGS}}} to you!

Shelley -- Where are you at this morning, babe? Did you have another relaxing day yesterday? :)

Lainie -- How was your sleep last night? Are you getting more caught up with your rest? Hope so! Those Loft tops are going to look fabulous on you, with your sexy, sleek arms! They really will!

Jennifer -- In case you stop by, hope you're doing well!

Love and hugs to you all! http://planetsmilies.net/obscene-smiley-1023.gif

Hey Melty Maidens~

It's a foul day in Shelleyland. I'll try to come back later when I'm in a better frame of mind.

Hey all!

Just got done with the protein shake and headed to the gym...

Leanne, I am sooo sorry! I do not want to complicate anything at all, I am sorry that I totally forgot about Thursday, I have not written my lists this week, so forgot about it until DH mentioned it last night. I totally understand about Friday...I can come to you too, I do not want you to drive a zillion mile out of your way. Lets shoot for next week for sure, will get my "lists" up and running today, I simply cannot function or get anything done without them...I have to have that structure or else I get nothing done. Thanks for the link...it looks adorable!:p Trust me, you will hate on that Callenetics thing I swear it! Squeeze is way better, love Tracey's curves on that one too. Thank god a real sized woman for me to relate to right?:D Thanks for the suggestion regarding the KB workouts, I do not know what to expect. I too get DOMS all the time with chest, I never get it in my biceps, and it takes forever to get it in my lower body.

Kristi, ((hugs))yukky day huh? Tell Auntie Flo to beat it...I totally am there with you on that one, I hate my period, but am always happy when it starts cause the PMS is so bad.x(

Shelley, ((hugs and

Ok, off I go...:* ) to you chica...Monday tends to do that, create a foulness that just stinks to high heavens..

Oh wow - Callanetics? Keep that thing away from me! LOL! I remember doing those back in the 80s. Callan Pinkney, or whatever her name is, drove me nuts. I think Mom still has the VHS stashed away in some drawer somewhere. It can stay there!

Hello everyone. Just got back from my second home (Target).

For some reason I picked up some pajama pants without looking at the size. I got home and they were XXL. I might have a big bottom, but it's nowhere near that big! So I guess I'll be taking those back. Too bad because they were cute floral things. I don't know why I didn't check the size--maybe the size on the hanger was different or something. Still, you would think I'd notice their hugeness. Anyway, I also got lots of new underpants for Ewan to try to encourage his potty training. I also bought the Thomas and the Magic Railroad DVD. So far it sucks, but Ewan is still watching in fascination, so maybe it's good enough for him.

Anyway, I'll be doing my workout after I put Ewan down for his nap this afternoon. It will be S&H Chest & Back (already changed my mind on what I decided last night).

Deb, good job getting that early workout done. I'm always impressed at how early you are up and at 'em!

Peggie, I love LIC, but I think I have trouble with using the band with the barbell--mainly it's just so awkward! Good job sticking with your plan today--I've already changed my mind on mine. :)

Robin, I'm sorry about you finding 3 lbs you'd lost. Like Shannon said, it may just be muscle anyway! I'm re-committing this week myself so we will prop each other up!

Shannon, good luck with Cardio Fusion. I just ordered that one--I actually owned it before, sold it, and then changed my mind and wanted it again....

Allison, so sorry about the a/c! Sounds like being hot makes you cranky like it does me!

BreckGirl, I grew up in Alvord, TX, sort of between Wichita Falls and Fort Worth--near Bowie, not too far from Denton. Don't know if any of that helps. :) It was a pretty small town. I also lived in other small towns in that area. I would definitely encourage your DH to try an overseas job, at least a temporary one! We lived in Holland for 2 years and in London for 2 years and it was incredible.

Tneah, the Dove workouts didn't appeal to me so far yet, either, but that's just because her moves looked a bit repetitive (but I admit I didn't watch a long time). I do think we are a bit spoiled by Cathe.

Kristi, good luck with the computer issues! Eek.

Leanne, maybe you actually slept too much? :p I actually hate it when people suggest that to me. I'm still a bit tired today myself, but not as bad as I was over the weekend, so hopefully I'm doing better. I'm still waiting for my lowered prescription dose to help with the fatigue. She said it might take a couple weeks.

SHELLEY--{{{{{{{{{{HUUUUUUUGS}}}}}}}}}}

Hello to all who follow. Hope to BBL to report my workout.

Lainie, is that smilie carrying a rock? Whatever it is, it made me smile. Yes, I'll be happy to be your prop if you reciprocate! I think our Target is opening on July 27. I can't wait! I will never go into a Target without thinking of you!

Shelley, I hope the sun comes out in Shelleyland soon!

Leanne, I'm not sure if Jay will have to go back or not. His dad surprised me Saturday by saying he expects there to be a wedding next summer. I'd be happy to have Jay as a SIL, but both he and Emily have a lot of school left.

Kristi, don't you just hate those days when it seems like everything you touch goes wrong? I hope your day has a happy ending.

Tneah, I was getting recurrent UTIs that I'm sure were related to menopause. I was taking cranberry extract and prophylactic antibiotics. In preparation for my surgery, they told me to stop taking the cranberry and I never started it up again. Luckily, Jay isn't very involved in the search for Obama. He does lookout duty for contactors who go to small villages to talk to the elders about improvements like new roads. He spends a lot of time walking up mountains, then sitting with a gun across his knees.

BG, I'd get back in touch with iTread and complain. You should get a refund. Jay is in the Army Natl Guard.

Allie, I'd send a hug, but it sounds like it's too hot. Hope your Monday improves.

Shannon, I hate buying new tires. They're so expensive and no fun at all. My UTI is responding pretty well to the meds. I feel much better.

I ended up doing SS this morning, then taking my mountain bike for a ride on the near by state game lands. The ride was more recreational then a workout. Some of my favorite roads are closed half of the year for some kind of secret propagation. This is the first time I've been able to do my favorite loop. Next time I go, maybe I'll take a camera and share my ride. I have to go get Tris some lunch, then we'll hit the road. See you all later.

Hey meltees...

So I bumped my head three more times into the mirror at the gym! My gym bag was sitting against the mirror and everytime I went to go get something out of it, BUMP. When I leaned forward.

 What the heck is my problemo lately? Hum, wonder if something is happening in my sun signs or something, or maybe I am just totally klutzy.:p

Lainie, report back on that workout chica, LOL about your "large and in charge" PJ's!

Robin your bike ride sounded lovely actually. Would love to see pics, oh, thought of you this morning. I spotted that unusual bird I told you about today, and of course I didn't have my camera. Glad to hear Jay isn't involved with the Osama drama.

Shannon, I know! Its the same thing, only with a new instructor, its so weird and slow and well, so weird and slow! Callentics..blech.

Well so far so rotten with that stupid workout, I am such a straight forward weights kinda gal, think this will not work for me, I hated it actually. Each circuit has 4 exercises, I did two circuits three times through, for a total of 24 sets. Yuk.Just not my thang. Maybe if it was a class or something, I could stand it.
However I can incorporate the veraslides into my lower body workouts. Plus, I can work my arms in a giant set fashion, one set after the other with little rest...so back to the drawing board!

Need to sit my arse down and do my lists today so I can figure out when I can meet our dear Leanne.

And whats up with my wanting to gnaw on a juicy steak?? Oh dear, I never eat red meat, ever. But boy am I craving it. What's in it? Iron, yes, but there must be something else?
:7

Shelley -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}}! Hope you're doing alright!

Tneah -- Please, please don't worry about having to re-schedule! We'll just plan for sometime next week, and we could even do dinner if that would be easier for you! {{{HUGS}}}, babe! No worries at all! I know -- I love how Tracey looks in the Squeeze video! Isn't that funny that we both only get chest DOMS? I had a little bit of hurt going on in my triceps, too, but nothing like the chest. I hardly ever get sore in my legs either. :-(

Robin -- Your bike ride sounds fantastic! Did you go by yourself? What exciting news about Emily and Jay! Even though they both have schooling to finish up, I'm sure they'll be fine if they decide to get married next year. DH and I got married right out of college, and our first three years (when I was in grad school) we were living off of my teaching pay (a whopping $6,500 a year!) and his money delivering pizza, in addition to summer temp jobs. The second year, he went back to school to get his teaching credential, and we didn't even have the pizza money to live on. We were very, very poor, but we made due, and I'm sure Emily, Jay, and Greyor would, too! They're lucky to have your support and love!

Lainie Bug -- Hope the new dose helps with your fatigue. I always think about you, too, when I go to Target.

Shannon -- LOL about the Callenetics! I think my copy might still be floating around somewhere, too! Let me know if you want me to ask DH about his Prius at all! :)

OK, just finished my shake so I'm off to shower. I ended up doing In the Ring after all. Love that one! :)

Hey again, Tneah! We were posting at the same time, so I thought I'd pop back in to say "hi" again! I'm worried about your balance being off like that. Is it close to Aunt Flo? I know that women tend to get klutzy near ovulation, so could that be it? And I say to stop doing those silly circuit workouts if you don't like them! Life's too short to not have fun, right? Get back to your straightforward weights, and have fun with them! ;-)

Leanne - yes, please do ask DH about his Prius! I'd be glad to have all the info I can lay my hands on. Thank you!

Tneah - LOL... I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh about you and that head. It reminds me of my 2-yr-old nephew. That child whacks his head so often we always say he's going to be brain damaged before he's three.

Robin - your bike ride sounds like my walk - it's all for the mental health, right? I love it.

Lanie - I think I know what you're up to. You subconciously picked up those pants so that you would have another excuse to go back to Target. ;)
