~ * ~It's a Very Melty Monday MELTERS! ~ *

Allison - if we killed you, you'd never get to see The Boy again. Do you really want that?

Tneah – 180g of protein? WOW. Do you ever worry about your kidneys? I thought a lot of protein was hard on them – but again, I guess I don’t really know what “a lot” of protein would be. Seems like when I’m around 150g I feel really bloated. But it might be possible there’s a TYPE of protein that doesn’t sit so well with my body. Who knows. I went to a nutritionist after the whole thyroid debacle and crazy – he put me on the blood type diet. Um… seemed a little “faddish” to me. But I’m type A+, which basically means vegetarian with the exception of tofu and occasionally eggs. I lasted about 2 weeks on that sucker. Had no energy to work out and felt weak and shaky all the time. Do you get the impression that I’m fumbling about trying to find the answer????? :D Wonder what Body by O man would say. Hmmm… Sorry about your noggin. OUCH!

Hi to Kristi – and sending “much better day” vibes your direction. They should reach you shortly since we’re not too far away! :7

Shannon – what do you do? I like beating rush hour. I get up at 4 if I’m going to work out in the morning – which I typically do, because then I at least have most of it done. My work schedule can vary so much in the time I arrive home, that sometimes I’m so wiped out, or it’s too late and I want to start dinner for DH that I don’t seem as consistent.

Hey Leanne dear! The eagle has left the nest and is moving your direction. :7 :7 :7

Hi to Deb!!! :D

Allison, how is the day shaping up? I’m SO sorry you have to put up with that crap. I’d be a crankypants for sure. I work on a mobile medical clinic, and when we have lots of patients to see in one location, it gets really hot on this thing – because we have to open the lift to get the wheelchairs on, and dang if all that A/C doesn’t just POUR right out. Plus, I’m fully covered in a lead apron and big lead collar to protect myself from the xray – so that can be DANG HOT, too. Just empathizing with you. Hope they get that fixed ASAP.

Shelley – Sorry to hear you’re out of sorts. Here’s to hoping those sorts sort out shortly. :7 (I’m a dork, but maybe you’ll laugh at me????)

Lainie – I know where you’re talking about. I went to grad school in Denton. Didn’t like Denton at all, but thankfully I still lived in the metroplex. Only had to be there for school (which seemed like my whole life, of course). Wow – Holland and London. So awesome. Don’t you think DH should move us to Italy? I could learn Italian and drink espresso and wine in the middle of the day. Wonder if I’d go through a little depression though, after about a month or two like, “WHAT HAVE I DONE???” What are the little dudes up to today? How old are they?

Hi Peggie – hope work is going well today. Did you get your lunchtime cardio in? What do you do for that?

Short day on the van today. We're headed back to the office. Just saw a 28 y/o lady who had a renal aneurysm during childbirth, went into respiratory failure, ended up with a trach and NG tube. But, we tested her and she's okay to eat! YAYYYYY!!! She's so depressed, so I'm glad we could give something back to her that was positive. Nice way to end the day.

Later girls! :+ :+

Ha ha! You ladies are a riot! :+ We can't have Allie not seeing The Boy now, can we?!

Shannon -- Let me know what you'd like me to ask the DH about the Prius, and I'll pass any questions his way! :) I bet you're right about Lainie and those pants . . . she just needed an excuse to get back to Target! ;-)

Shelley Babe -- Hope you're OK!! :)

BG -- Back to say "hi" since our posts crossed! You're such a sweetie with the eagle! I worry about eating too much protein, too; when I've been chowing down on shakes and protein pudding, I get . . . er . . . backed up, so to speak. (TMI?!) Ooh, ooh! Can I move to Italy with you? Don't forget to add "eating gelato" to that list of things to do while we're there! Glad that the day ended well for you!

Off to the grocery store! Later, gators!

Leanne - oh, I don't know... how much does he like it? Is a hybrid really better than a regular car? I'm thinking especially for highway miles. What's he going to do when the battery runs out? I hear they're only good for about 80,000 miles. What's the highest mpg he's gotten so far? I guess just an overall impression of its performance. Heck, it's been forever since I bought a new vehicle, and then I didn't really compare. I don't know what to ask! :p

BG - I'm a medical writer. My hours are pretty consistent, with just an occasional late day. My employer lets me do "flex hours" so I can beat the traffic, so I work 7-3:30 instead of the 8:30 to 5 that most others here work. Whew - you must be tough to wear that iron apron all day! Who needs a workout after that???

Allison - glad you decided to stay with us for a while longer. ;) Surely they're working on that dang AC by now???

Okaaaaay - just five minutes to go before I hit the road. YAY! Y'all have a great evening. I'm crossing my fingers that my tire is still holding air.....

*crossing fingers for Shannon's leaky tire*:)

Leanne! Guess what? We can meet this Thursday for sure, I sat down with DH and its Wednesday we are taking the group to Coronado Island! Yippee! So whatcha wanna do? Eat?}( Pick a place and I shall mapquest and start about an hour before I need to be there to assure a timely arrival.;)
And yes!I am ovulating right now, so that might be the clumsy explanation. My balance is okay, I was wearing a baseball cap pulled low over my eyes so did not have the best vision I think, and "womp!" Thats when it hit.:7 We could walk by the beach, or whatever, I am easy...

BG, too much protein backs me up and everyone I think...which is why I took Cleanse Smart during the program, still do actually. It really helps clear out toxins and nourishes the liver and stuff. Mr. Body By O, would argue that when trying to lean out and build at the same time, one must get that protein in, especially when you cut those carbs, otherwise its impossible to get enough calories in. I also drank and still drink one gallon of water each day. I love water! Happy to hear your day went well!

*konks head again* That was for Shellers.;) :7

Allison, sending "cool as a cucumber" vibes your way, I cannot believe they have not fixed that dang air yet!

Off to the grocery again...we run out of water and stuff really fast cause there is not alot of storage...

Hi, everyone!
I’m a little less cranky now. I had a really good, sweaty workout with KPC, so that made me feel better. The Hip Hop DVD with the girls was lots of fun, too, although we only did the tutorial and a couple of segments. We don’t have a natural hip hop gene, so we look and feel a bit (a lot) dorky! :)

Thank you for all your kind words about our volunteer activities over the weekend. It’s really important to DH & me to teach the girls the importance of doing for others. Also, it seems really important to have those sorts of activities on your resume for college these days.

Thank you also for indulging my bad mood this morning. Now I’ll see I can catch up with all you chatty chicas!

Robin – Big UGH on the UTI – hate them, hate them!! I got one once while in trial with an older male lawyer in a tiny town with only one tiny grocery store that did NOT carry Azo Standard! I was absolutely miserable. You are so lucky you could get it treated so quickly! Did you get Tristan back to Scranton? Did you get to shop? How’s your DD doing since Jay left? Will definitely pray for his safety! Your bike ride sounds really nice. My DH and I got married in the middle of law school, over Christmas break of our second year. My grades actually went way up *after* we got married.

Deb – LOL at your DH lying when you ask for an “honest”opinion – I’m pretty sure mine does, too. :) But I have to say that my DH is wonderful about thanking me for all I do, helping out, and complimenting me. He really is nearly a saint (who definitely gets on my nerves sometimes – esp. as I get closer to menopause!:))

Shannon – I’d love to see some of your watercolors. That just sounds so relaxing! I’m not sure I ever go without thinking about food. :) I don’t have Cardio Fusion, but good luck! I hope the tire wasn't flat!

Tneah – Be careful in that gym! I can relate to your feeling like a klutz. In Chicago, I fell *up* an escalator that wasn’t moving. I still have a big knot and bruise on my knee, and it really hurts to kneel on it. I’m sorry you’re not liking your Red Carpet Workout; if it makes any difference, I think you look Red Carpet Ready now!! ;)

Leanne – I get really bad DOMs in my chest, too; DH never does. I also love S&H; I feel like I can go really heavy (for me at least) and use good form, plus Cathe is so relaxed on those.

Peggie – Good job on your workout! I hope you had a nice day!

BG – That’s really frustrating about that iCycle – I’d try to send it back! I don’t love PUB; I did initially, but now I feel like she moves too fast for me to use very heavy weights. What’s your secret? Your work sounds really rewarding and challenging!

Allison – I pity you with no A/C – that’s miserable!

Shelley – Feeling any better? I hope so – eat some chocolate. I did, and it helped (at least in the short term).

Lainie – I love your attitude about what people think of you in halter tops! We all ought to have that attitude about our bodies all the time!

Talk to you later!

Okay, I just cooked broccoli and the boat now smells like ....shee-ot!:p

Everything I eat stinks up a storm, the guys are blaming George....but he is a good dog and would never poo-poo on the boat...:7 I had to eat something before grocery shopping othewise all sorts of foodstuff I do not need winds up making its way into my cart.

Hey Kristi darlin', glad you had such a fabulous workout!:7 You are too kind, I just hate that workout, nothing compares to really pushing the iron in the gym so to speak, I love feeling my muscles strain under alot of weight, I am weird. If it doesn't hurt, its not working...that my motto and what gets me into trouble with everything in my like quite frankly. hee-ha!

Now, I am off to shop! Oh! Someone should find a "melty maiden" icon we can all use as a mascot--I love miss nips, but I know, it might be a little much.:+ But then again, everything about me is "a little much".;)

Hi, again,
I don't think it's much of a secret that I've been cranky and a little out of sorts since we got home from our vacation. I can't seem to find my way back into my usual groove. Anyway, I just got an email from my mother that was written by the daughter of one of my mom's friends who is in her late 50's/early 60's and who is battling many, many health issues (heart issues, repeated strokes, breast cancer that has spread everywhere), and it really struck me, so I thought I'd share it:

"I have come to the conclusion that as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, LIVE your life as YOU WANT- EAT what you want- DANCE like you want- DRINK what you want - SLEEP as much as you want-CUSS as MUCH as you want.....and even POP your gum if you want! Life is too freakin short and full of some serious sh*t - sending a giant electronic hug to all of you and then back to myself!"

Pretty good advice, I think! Now I'm sending that same giant electronic hug to all of you . . . and back to myself. :)

Hey melty maidens -

Kristi - awww, I can definitely do the cussing one. What do you expect, I work around a bunch of guys. I hope you get that computer fixed soon. You will get your groove back, don't give up. Also with you on the hip-hop gene. I suck.

Robin - Also icky on the UTI. I would also love to see your pics of your bike ride.

Shannon - Hope cardio fusion went well. I don't have that one. I just got my second copy of boot camp and muscle endurance, the first one would not play in my DVD in the basement where I work out, but played in our other DVDs, so I sent it back and got another one. Same problem. Imagine that.

Allison - Can't believe you don't have air yet. How can they expect one to work in those conditions. I know all about the work overload. Same thing on my desk this morning. Big time sucks.

BG - Which song do you hate on the Itrains? The cardio I do at lunch is either the bike or the elliptical. I do a half hour. That's enough just to get me out of the office for a nice break. I usually eat about 1800 calories a day. On that burn the fat, feed the muscle book, my numbers were 1650 for three days and 2000 for one day, rotating like that, so I figured if I'm in the 1800 ballpark, I'm good. I also do pretty well on higher protein, my muscles really seem to pop, especially my arms and shoulders . . . now if I could just get the butt to pop.

Tneah - Yeah, quit bumping your head. What is SLC and Red Carpet Ready. Oh, I liked your post about shaving, nice tip with the deodorant. Thanks.

Hi Leanne - Hope your day is going well. Too bad you are so tired. Do you guys going to the RT have roommates for your hotels. I have a hotel room, but would not mind sharing the expense if someone wouldn't mind sharing an existing room or sharing mine. I am at the Residence Inn. If not, no problem. I don't mind.

Shelley - Hope you are feeling better.

Hey Lanie - too bad about the pajama pants. BTW, I love the halter tops. I think halter tops make everyone look good. They makes the shoulders look so nice.

Hope I didn't forget anyone.

Kristi, I like that lady, boy she is totally right! I am trying to adopt that attitude in my life-especially when it comes to my eating and body. God Bless her and thanks for that electronic hug!:7

Peggy, SLC is Salt Lake City, that is where our company is based. And Red Carpet Ready is a circuit type workout that uses these things called Versaslides...its just okay. Alot of folks here raved about it, but the one lady that said she lost a pants size I think is very, very strict with her diet--I have read her diet type posts and was like "wow" hardcore. Plus she did the three circuits three times through which is crazy actually and would drive me nuts. Sorry I just shared all that with ya! I think some of the moves are great, but I got irritated with the whole sha-bang really.I do okay with higher protein, but I really need the carbs in order to feel like a nice person.

I was so active today! I must have walked up and down this neverending dock forever! Back and forth loading and unloading, walking George, and now have to walk him again...grrr....

I have posted more than anyone today huh? I post when I get the chance to sit and rest before going to walk the dock again.:) Hey, its extra exercise though right? I think it justifies a glass or two of my favorite vino tonight right?;)

Happy evening to all!

OMG, my freaking washer conked -- right in the middle of dinner AND a load of workout clothes! I just wrung them out and put them in the dryer. DH & one of my DDs are gone to buy a new one, so it can be delivered on Wed., which is necessary because we are going out of town on Thurs. to a continuing legal ed. conf. where DH and I will go to seminars for our hours (I still maintain my license) and the girls will lay by the pool. Of course, most of what I wanted to take is still dirty in the small, delicate loads that I always save for last. UGH!!! I'm trying to get ahold of my perspective, but I'm really frustrated! I just bailed (sp?) as much water as I could out of the washer. I didn't go out on the shopping trip b/c I didn't feel like I was in the right frame of mind to be a helpful addition; DH can do much better without me right now.

Tneah -- I think I'm about to follow that girl's advice and drink as much as I want. I can't think of a better way to end this day! Unfortunately, I don't think we have a thing to drink in the house. :( That's probably best. You have a glass for me, okay?

Peggie -- I had to return my ME & BC DVD, too, b/c it "sticks" in certain places. They sent me a new one that seems to have the same problem to a lesser degree. Maybe the whole lot of them has quality issues. Both of mine have had spots on the disc.

Talk to you later!

Hey Kristi- mine has a spot on the disc too, on both sides and I think that is the problem. I think I just might have to switch DVD players. Yuck.

Sorry about your washer. I hate our washer. I wish it would die so I could get a new one.

Tneah - thanks for the info. Indulge--have the wine.

Shannon – yes I get a pretty good core workout all day. Between wearing that heavy lead apron and walking around the van while jostling down the road… I’m pretty tired out by the time it’s all done! Is your medical writing research-based? (Is that a dumb question?) How did your tire end up?????

Tneah – Cleanse smart… Where can I get that? I want it, and I want it now. :D :D I’m with you on the “no pain, no gain.” I’m a little freaky like that, which is generally why my trainers say they enjoy training me (don’t mean that to sound conceited). I don’t complain when I work with them. I’m paying them to push me, and I’m not there to play! I’m there to WORK, damnit. And HARD. What’s your favorite vino???

Kristi – ITA about Cathe moving too fast to go really heavy. I just enjoy doing the workout itself – she seems so cute and peppy through the whole thing. I consider it more endurance for me than strength. I can push myself, but not in terms of increasing weights too much every time. I’ll tell you, my arms get so tired because the blood drains out of them as I’m doing all that chest lying on my back… I sometimes have to pause it and let the blood come back. Otherwise it hurts, and not a good hurt! ;) That BITES about your washer!!! Except – now, you don’t have to do laundry!!! That’s a way positive thing. And thanks – yes, that really irritated me (especially at 4 in the morning) about the iCycle. Just got an email from them apologizing, and crediting me for another workout. Whew! I’m glad you and DH are teaching your kiddos the importance of giving back. My MIL takes the nieces and nephews every Christmas to pick a family, shop for them and deliver or cook or something for someone “less fortunate.” I think it not only teaches service and compassion, but gratitude, humility and tolerance. (all things that seem lacking these days) Enjoy your vino tonight! You certainly deserve it. If you don’t have any, I can swing some by. Lord knows I have plenty. ;)

Hey Peggie dear! The song I hate on the iTrains is the one with the man talking. Something about destiny… dunno. It irritates me and is distracting. And I’m pretty shocked I’m so crazed about it, but I am. It is what it is. If you want to know specifically, it’s the one featured on the samples of iCycle 17 and 21 on the website. UGH. That is completely fabulous that you can squeeze in a 30 min cardio at lunch! Man – that seems like a lot of calories to me! But I think my metabolism is on vacation. Or strike. Yes, on strike. I’ve got to get it together.

Where’s Lainie and Shelley??? Hi to you 2 darlins. And howdy to Robin and Miss Leanne! Leanne, I think you have almost completely enabled me for a kettlebell workout… :7

Allison – how did your day turn out? Think of all the water weight you lost just working today. Positive spin? Yes? No?
