Is it mean to NOT remind someone about a job opening in my office, when they could easily find that info themselves on the website?
Here's why: A couple months ago I told a colleague about a upcoming job opening in my office. She says she really wants to work where I do. I gave her the web address, and told her to keep checking it because I had no idea when it would be posted. Well, it turns out it's now posted, and I don't think she knows about it or she would have called me. I debated calling her and letting her know, but frankly, I'm thinking if she had a bit more gumption, she would have found it herself already. I mean, you can do email alerts when something is posted. She's very nice and good at her job, but I don't want yet *another* person in the office that has to be pushed and prodded...I think it's very important to be pro-active, and go after things you want.
What would you do?
