Imaxes

I'm trying to decide which Imax to try first.
I'm an intermediate level exerciser; have been doing Cathe's stuff for a long time now so I'm familiar with her choreography.
However I generally modify most high impact to low because my knees scream at me otherwise}( . You all talk about Imax 2 being so much fun and I want to try it-but I approach it with great trepidation... Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Of the three imaxes I would say to start out with Imax 2. It is very fun and less intense than the other two. I love all three of them but if you are just starting out I would say definately go with Imax 2 first. I hope this helps.

I love IMAX 2, but I do think the original IMAX is a logical starting point for someone new. It is way hard (aren't they all!!) but the choreo on the step portions is simpler. If you're a step girl, go for IMAX 2, no problem, but if you don't have a lot of experiene with step, you might want to try IMAX 1.

Also, I wanted to say: HI, AILA!!! I haven't seen you around the boards in forever. I hope you and your family are doing well. :)

RE: Hi Marie!!

We are all doing well! Thanks for asking! I feel like I haven't been on here forever:) ...I have been VERY busy. Hope all is well with you too:) Talk to you soon!

Hi Jules. I just did my first imax workout ever on Tuesday. I chose imax 2 because of this message board and it was a great choice. I don't know if this will help you at all, but here are the blasts. At least they are my best description of them.

Blast 1
Uneven lunges and single lunges off the side and off the back

Blast 2
Push up on step and shoot over the top (travel 4 around the corner), box lunges, power 7s

Blast 3
Power box (with jumping knees) and hop on one leg

Blast 4
Squats long way over the step and power 15s

Blast 5
Long hop turns, plyo jacks, airborne jacks

Blast 6
Power 3 and straddle, tap steps, repeat (used step topper)

Blast 7
Ski hops and jump up on step (used step topper)

Blast 8
Sumo squats side to side, over step long ways

Blast 9
Power straddle hops down step, jacks, plie jacks

Blast 10
Power L steps and power squats in center (power squats on floor)

I too have not so great knees and not too much bothered me except for the one-legged hops in blast 3. Of course the plyo and plie jacks are always a little iffy for me too. I would totally give this a try!!

Least complicated choreo in Low Max?? NO WAY. Cathe does some pretty complicated stepping like reverse mambos and sweeps that still get me confused - and I've been doing Low Max for two months now! However, it's easier on the knees than Imax2 and almost as much fun. But don't worry, Cathe didn't skimp on the intensity in LowMax either.
