Imax2 & Step height

Cathe,

I was wondering if you could increase the step height on Imax 2 to one riser higher? Will this increase the challenge of the workout? And if this is the case and can be done, could you also do this for Step Blast & Rhythmic Step?

I was just wondering if this is an option on days I feel like I can increase my workout challenge. Trust me, I think you challenge me to the max but on some days I feel like I can give more than usual and thought about giving it a try with increasing the height.

Thank you for your input!!

I use an 8" step on all three workouts you mentioned. The only workout I don't use an 8" step for is IMAX 3-it is hard enough. However, I do take out one riser on IMAX 2 when doing one blast, the step taps, because I have tripped before. I think Cathe uses a 6" step alot of the time because she is teaching and because she is only 5'3".

Thank you I will have to try this tomorrow when I do Step Blast, something different to look forward to. I am only 5'1" so maybe this will be a challenge I will have to watch closely and when I start to trip move back down a riser.

I completely forgot about the step taps in Imax 2, thanks for the heads up. I am sure I would of kissed the floor when that came up.

Thank you for your input, I look forward to trying out the new challenge. }(

Hats off to you Melanie! If you want to increase the challenge and bring your riser to 8 inches, go for it. I would not suggest going any higher than 8 inches for safety purposes though. I also would consider making your increases gradual by perhaps only doing the first 5 intervals at 8 inches and then go back down to 6inches for the remainder of the workout. You can do this for about 2 to 3 workouts before doing the whole thing enchilada at 8 inches. Your body may love you more for doing that :7 . Just a suggestion of course.
