IMAX Dilemma

Hi all!
I am having an IMAX dilemma!!!I have the original Imax. I would like to get another one since most of the rotations I have seen seem to use them a lot, but when I bought my step it came with a Basic Step/Cardio and Weights DVD. I don't know if it would be better to get IMAX 3 or IMAX 2 that comes with Cardio and Weights. I have looked other places for an old copy of just IMAX 2, but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated :)

I personally much prefer IMAX 2 over IMAX 3. I think it is the most fun of the IMAX's, although either of them will kick your butt. I love the music and also how happy Cathe seems in this workout - she is very motivating!

i like IMAX 2 better than 3 personally. I think that IMAX 2 is a lot more fun and it keeps your attention better. I find IMAX 3 a lot more difficult. Not as much recovery time, and the intervals are harder. But, they are both great workouts!!

I do as well. In fact, IMAX2 is one of my favorite workouts, while I got rid of IMAX3.

Ah, Beth, that is a dilemma. The really nice thing about getting the Imax2/Cardio & Weights dvd is that you can mish mosh the two workouts together. Imax3, however, is closer in intensity to the original Imax, though. Imax2 does kick butt, but it's almost universally considered the "easiest" of the 3 Imaxes. And the most fun. Personally I enjoy Imax3 over Imax2, but that's probably because I used the Intensity Series very, very frequently for a couple of years. Imax3 still has some fresh appeal for me, and the endorphin rush when I'm done is delightful.

Good luck with your decision!

Hi

I had the same issue a while back, but I bought Imax 2 and Cardio and Weights on DVD and then sold my Cardio and Weights and Basic Step on ebay. You won't regret it! Imax 2 is a favorite of many! I also have Imax 3 (eventually I ended up with 99% of her DVDs) and use it frequently as well, but it doesn't have the real fun factor 2 has. HTH

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I think I will go for Imax2 and Cardio and Weights. I did try the version that was on FitTV a while back and had trouble with some of the intervals so I think Imax 3 might be too much of a good thing right now:) Thanks again for all the help. This forum is a great resource!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find if you're not careful and very agile, there is some real possibility of getting yourself seriously hurt doing IMAX3 - in falling or tripping.

I would approach with caution. ;)

Love IMAX2 though!

I'm also an I2, girl!! I have I3 and have done it several times, but have never been able to "get" into it like I can with I2!! I love the music in 2 as well! C&W is also a great workout!

I have both Imax 2 and Imax 3. I actually have developed a workout that does the Imax 3 blasts only premix. Because this is the hardest, I am not sure if Imax 2 can compare. I LOVE Imax 3, but am soon going to also try Imax 2. I think you can't lose with either option...perhaps you can get both?? Also, decide what level you are at with you exercise and then chose. Imax 2, I think, is easier.

If you like hardcore stuff where you're gasping for air (like I do in some of the blasts) then get IMAX 3. If you like a hard workout that's doable on any given day, then get IMAX 2. I can only do IMAX 3 on a "good day." IMAX 2 is a lot more fun to me, but still has that challenge factor.

I think IMAX 3 is much more challenging.....and fun too! But, they both are great....if you are looking for super intensity, I would go for IMAX 3. If you are looking for a fun and intense (but not too intense) workout....I would go for IMAX 2.

I would try to get both eventually because they both are super workouts and IMO very different.

Thank you for all of your input. I think I am going to go for IMAX 3 right now and then add IMAX 2 later. I taped IMAX 2 off of FIT TV. I know it is not the same as the real thing, but when I use it as part of a rotation I hop on the treadmill for 10-15 minutes for some sprint intervals before the cool down/stretch. Thanks again for all the help:)
