This is one tuff workout!!!!! I'm just wondering who is able to do the whole workout? and how long did it take you to be able to do it?

Do you do it on the 6 inch?
I was able to do it pretty much ok on the 6 inch, the 2nd time ..but the first time i tried on the 8 and :eek:HOLY COW...(has never been attempted anymore on the 8)

You have to be rested to be able to it. No DOMS, no heavy HIITS..
I usually do it during my STS rest weeks...
Definately no leg work the day before;)

The only thing i really adapt is the plie squats..I just hate those!

Good luck...its really fun when you get it:D

I can do it...on a 6" step, straight thru but with a couple mods here and there. It's super duper tough tho and the choreo still trips me up too which dsn't help.

I worked my way up with this workout. I think when I first did it, I could only complete the first 4 intervals.

I used to just do jumping jacks on the 5th interval blast (plie jumps).

It probably took me 6 months to finally get through the whole thing and complete the moves without any modifications.

What I found really helped me to have the endurance to complete this workout were the HIIT workouts. Once I started doing a HIIT workout once a week, I was able to finish IMAX 3. I remember being so surprised at being able to get through it without modifications, but I truly believe it was because of HIIT training.

Plus, I always keep in mind that the first 5 intervals are much more difficult than the last five. So if you get through the first 5, you'll breeze through the second half of the workout.

Just keep at it, work at it according to your own abilities, and one day you'll get through the whole thing and just be so proud of yourself!

Also, keep up diligently with your lower body strength training, because it will help you with this workout.

I don't really have any issues getting through this entire workout (not to say that I don't sweat my butt off and breathe like there's not enough air in the world to save me!) :p My only thing with the IMAX's is that I have to make sure I have some carbs before hand if i'm doing the workout first thing in the morning. If I have a slice of whole grain toast (or oatmeal) and a banana first then i'm good to go.

Just keep at it! And be very honest with yourself. If your body is truly telling you that it's time to stop then ease off. If you can keep going even though it hurts then push through! The first time you make it all the way through you will feel MAJORLY accomplished!

When I eat well and get dequate rest, I love this work out. There were times when I do these things and I ended up so winded I had to finish the workout without the step and my heart still remained in fatburning. good luck.

I did the Interval 1-5 Premix this morning! I haven't done it in a while. I was just thinking this morning that I remembered this workout being a lot "tougher". I agree, the HIIT and Cardio Core Circuit and Plyo Legs have really built up my endurance for this one. I was so happy when it came a bit easier for me today!

Imax3 is one of my favorite workouts and it's also one of the toughest workouts I do. I think doing Cathe's HIIT and weight training workouts really prepared me for this one. I had been doing Imax 2 for years before I bought Imax 3 and it's not nearly as tough. I can get through Imax 3, but I'm good and fried afterwards.

IMAX 3 is def a toughie! i agree w/ MelanieC that doing the HIIT workouts will help you to get thru IMAX 3. my problem in doing the whole workout is that my feet can't make it thru, LOL! seriously, the arches in my feet cramp up on some of the sections and I just can't do it. i literally will stop in the middle of something and start walking around gingerly saying "feet, feet, feet" -- so, i typically just do a premix, either 1-5 or my fave 6-10 (think that's right) and if I feel like doing some extra cardio I will.

This is definitely one of the toughest workouts! After all the time I've owned I still have trouble with it! It's my go-to for days when I'm feeling really jazzed up, and I am always happy on interval number 10!:D

It took me a good couple of months actually before I was able to do this completely through. And I can only complete it on a 6 inch step. Sure is a tough one!
