I'm such a spaz. . . I fell off my step

I was so excited to try Athletic Step. Watched it yesterday and again today to kind of get the feel for the moves. I tried it tonight. I stumbled a few times, but thought I was doing pretty good. Then I fell, not even on one of the complicated steps, don't ask. I am such a spaz. I am okay, thankfully. Nothing more than a bruised ego.

Other than that, I loved Athletic Step. I was not familiar with some of the moves though.

Anyway, anyone else have a spaz-o moment when they were doing a workout?

Kristin

Oh Kristin, I can totally relate!! I've fallen off soo many times and had sprained ankles. I got new orthotics for my shoes and that made a difference. But, I am still uber-conservative and slow it down and/or watch my feet if I'm not sure I can do it without personal bodily injury.

You hang in there, girl! I'm cheering for you!

OMG! I haven't fallen off - yet, but I tend to slip off the edges doing those fast foot repeaters at times! Yikes! I think the biggest reason for that is that I have the Reebok Step and the gripper section doesn't go all the way to the ends like The Step does. Okay, that's not the only reason, I'm also not very coordinated although I love step!

You'd never believe as uncoordinated as I am that I used to teach aerobics! Never fell back then, or tripped or anything. These days, I tend to try to fly quite a bit!

I've fallen off a few times.

The bruised eqo doesn't last to long and you're on your way again.

Have Fun!

spaz here

A few years ago while doing Rhythmic I fell off my step & suffered a spriral fracture of 2 of the metarsals in my right foot. I was in a hard cast the entire summer. But, I did do the rest of my workout using my stationary bike, how sick is that!

Another spaz joining in! My sister and I were doing one of the HIITs a couple days ago and I slipped off the side! I'm usually pretty coordinated so my sis had a good chuckle at my expense!:p

So Glad!

I am so glad I am not the only one. I am new to Cathe's workouts and I am having a hard time with the step workouts. I did Lower Intesity Step this morning and I don't know how many times I slid off the side of the step. I guess I just need to pay more attention to my feet.

okay, so I admit that I sorta suck at step! I've made a resolution to really go at it this year and learn to be great at it! I haven't fallen off, but somehow i see it in my future...ha!

LOL, I haven't heard that word spaz in a long time. I also feel off my step once or twice. Thankfully I wasn't hurt and I was in my basement. Anyway, glad you weren't badly hurt. I just got Step Moves down and want to do it for anther week or so before I start to learn Athletic step. I'll try not to fall. :) Autumn

I took a dive during Cathe's Roadtrip last year over something silly. Landed squarely on my butt. I wasn't hurt at all, but was a bit red in the face, as 105 other people were there to witness it.

I think my feet got jumbled up doing the step cross across the step with the leg swing off the side (forget what that move is called). AND I slipped off the side in the first combo when I couldn't make my feet do the wide side lunges. Oh well - grace improves with practice and I am grateful that me, myself and I are my own "step class"!

Don't be so hard on yourself. I fell off my step last year and got the worst sprained ankle of my life. It was horrible! I traded all of my step DVDs after that and have sworn off of it. I'm way to uncoordinated/clumsy or perhaps, as you put it, a spaz. LOL:p

Yeah, but we were so happy you were okay (not to mention knowing it could have been any one of us!).

You are not alone. I almost fell INTO the TV doing leg presses and almost rolled down the stiars on the ball. Miss Grace at times I am not! LOL

And to the original poster, Kristin, I have taken a tumble off my step a few times (usually when my mind wanders). The most recent fall was almost a year ago. I literally flew off the step and crashed into the middle part of the sliding glass door(thankfully missing the glass), and landed on my arse(the right cheek to be exact). I'm still dealing with the after effects of it.

I'm glad you're okay! :)

Yeah, what she said!

I am a klutz, and have fallen off, slipped off, and tripped over my step a number of times. I have also punched myself while doing kickbox. But I always get back on the horse! ;)

I think most of us have done something like that! That's why I love this forum, there is always someone who can say the same thing has happened to them. I've given myself an uppercut before.

Okay, so I guess I am not alone in my clumsiness.

I too, have punched myself in the face, lol. For me it was the uppercut, right square in my jaw. Luckily, my husband was not around to see that one.

I didn't read yours before I just posted. I just read Jodi's post and thought about the uppercut I gave myself too, lol.

Hey, at least it shows we really get into the movements, right ;)
