I want Boot Camp/ME next--am I insane?

I just started Cathe workouts about 3 months ago. Since then, I've become hooked (and in better shape than ever!) I have Power Max, Step Heat, High Step Circuit, Push-Pull, Power Hour, Basic Step and Body Fusion (I only do the Body Fusion--Basic Step is SO boring), Low Impact Step (also boring). I really want Boot Camp/ME to be my next purchase. Am I setting myself up for disappointment? If it's too difficult and I wear myself out trying to do it, I will be disappointed. Any opinions?

Go for it!
I've done BC 4x in last 60 days and still have to modify some of the later cylcles. It sounds like you like challenges- some people get disappointed in themselves if they cant do 100% of every workout... for me, I'd rather have them challenging to my body and so look forward to the day when I'm at 100%!
I remember the 1st time I got thru LowMax w/ no modifications- heavenly and powerful feeling! Now I have to find ways to make it more challenging!
Enjoy!!

I had to respond to this one because I LOVE Boot Camp - it is my absolute favorite workout of all time. I bought it about 2 months ago. The first time I did it, I was so overworked I saw stars after the cardio interval #5 (the Terminator Lunges!) I definitely overdid it and it was a good lesson to learn. I was doing it once a week for about a month and each time it got a bit easier. For the past month, I have done it twice a week and I can finally get through all the exercises without stopping or modifications. That was a good feeling, as it is a very challenging workout!

So...I say go for it, but to make sure you are listening to your body and while it's important to "push yourself" to a point, don't overdo it. You can do the workout with some modifications if things are getting too difficult.

OK...I'm convinced. Just one more question--do I absolutely NEED a medicine ball? Or is there something else I can use (or maybe I don't need a thing to feel it?) That's one piece of equipment I just haven't gotten yet.
Thanks!!

I don't have a medicine ball either. I just use a dumbbell. I think one of the background exercisers shows modifications using a dumbbell.

The ball is used in 3 of the core (abs) circuits and in two of the legs curcuits. The medicine ball isn't critical, in fact, one of the people in the background of the workout is using an 8 lb. dumbbell as a substitute. Or yes...you can use nothing, as the work that is done in those circuits is quite challenging all by itself. ;-)

i so want this dvd myself. i tried both workouts on fittv and loved them both, and i would never be dissappointed in such great workouts on dvd. plus all those options for premixes. its not to difficult b/c you can change the weights to suit your level or what you feel good with that day. the cardio of boot camp is intense but short so by the time you are ready to fall over she is bringing it down to move onto something else.

now if you are looking for cardio KPC/L&G is a great dvd. plus the premixes and workout blender are awesome options for these workouts. i also have imax2/cardio and weights. but if you are just looking for weights and/or circuits BC/ME is a great choice.

This one is a must on DVD due to all of the premixes.

And while you don't NEED the med ball, you will certainly want one. I think I got mine at Walmart for under $10.

Enjoy!

PS: It's a good kind of insanity! ;-)

You NEED bootcamp, go ahead and order it.;-)

And Marie's correct, you can buy Danskin weighted soft balls inexpensively at Walmart in 3, 5 or 8#.

I'd definitely say go for it! It has two awesome workouts on this dvd. I am actually doing this one today and using the BC and ME premix. This one is tough but I have to modify BC. It has some awesome premixes on both workouts,so hope you can get this one and enjoy it.

I love Bootcamp. I also love all the High Steps and both Kickboxing workouts. If you love a challenge this is it. Watch it first to know where and what you can modify if you have to. I had to modify the terminator thrust climbers I took the jump out for the first few times I did it I think the ax jumps (Sorry if the name is wrong here) as well I took the jump out just kinda came up on the toes a bit. My favorite one is the skaters I just love that move.

BC gets me every time! I also used to enjoy one of the BC/ME premixes...I can't remember what it is called right now, but I need to pull that out again and do it!

I've got the BC/KM Combo Challenge Premix on the schedule for this morning... Haven't done it before but ANYTHING w/ BC in it has to be a goodie!
