I lost a furry baby today :(

My sweet little hamster Stewart died this morning. :( I was able to hold him and pet him as he passed on, that was important to me. He was such a sweet and friendly little guy. He lived for about 2 years and was spoiled with love.

I have an album of him on my profile if anyone wants to look.

If you don't mind could you send a little positive thought or prayer out into the universe for him. :) Thanks!

I'm going to miss my Stewart Little Pants!! :(
 
OMG! Stewart looks exactly like a hamster I had years ago. I've had 3 hamsters in my lifetime and this guy was definately THE COOLEST! He was like a dog I swear! So friendly and fun and positively adorable! I'm sure you are missing Stewart like crazy. My heart goes out to you. I know how ya feel....

Thanks ladies! I decorated a little craft box with his name (wooden letters and hearts). It turned out really sweet. :)

My loving DH is out burying him for me which will be difficult since the temps are frigid outside. :confused:

I'm just going to veg out on the couch today with my puppies.
 
I am so sorry, Chastity!!!! What a beautiful little fuzzy face! I am sure he had the most wonderful life with you and enjoyed every minute of it!

Oh, Chastity - I am so sorry. It is never easy to lose a loved one - man or "beast". He was GORGEOUS... what a sweet little face. Prayers for you during your time of sorrow.
 
What a cutie. So sorry for your loss. Looking at his pictures made me reminisce about the ones I had growing up.

I am so sorry for your loss! Stewart's pictures are so cute - you can see his sweet personality shining through!

He made me think of my very first pet - a hamster - when I was 9. He lived almost five years and losing him was my first experience with losing someone you love.

I will say a prayer for you both.

OMG, what an adorable little creature. No wonder you're devastated. {{{hugs}}} and lots of animal time to you. You're critters know you need them right now.
 
So sorry about Stewart. I love hamsters - all rodents really. I've had many hamsters during my lifetime. They live less than a 1000 days but I got one from my SPCA and it seems like I had him forever. Must have been a youngin when I got him. Ludwig was his name and 8 years later I still think of him so fondly. Just a great little easy going critter. I actually had to put him to sleep as he had a stroke.
 
Thank you so very much everyone! :) I knew that I could count on you all to send some hugs and support. I was so emotional yesterday.

We adopted Stewart for my stepson Justin but he's only with us every other weekend. I ended up taking care of Stewart and getting more attached. He's the only hamster I've owned and was quite surprised how friendly he was. He used to roll over when he was sleeping for me to rub his belly. :D

When we took him to the vet earlier this week she even commented that Stewart was the coolest most friendliest hamster she'd ever seen.

Okay, sorry to ramble on. :eek:
