I like to lift weights...

I'm a huge fan of Cathe because she was the first trainer that I felt hit it dead on. I've purchased S&H, GS and Butts and Gutts. Slow and Heavy is where I am personally...not a fan of dancey moves or Step. Just really like to lift. B&G wasn't bad but I do have a smaller house and some of the work requires space.

I really only have a small bedroom which I converted to my workout room that is shared with a computer...

Any thoughts? I've really been thinking hard on the STS but a squat rack is recommended. That means my elliptical, squat rack and pc will be jammed for absolutely no floor work...although I think I would get a lot of use from the squat rack/bench. Along with a HRM while were on my wish list!;-)

Thanks!

I am not going to purchase a squat rack. Either I will get a weighted vest to use in addition to the barbell for those lower body moves or I will not lift as heavy. Cathe and crew use weighted vests in the new dvds for some exercises.

I love lift weight also,if you are not to get STS maybe you want to get. POWER HOUR there is two pretty good ones the Maximum Intensity Stregth and Power Hour, 2 of my favorite one also Super Set and Push and Pull.

I have a squat rack, albeit not the big hulking things you see online at some of the sites. It stores nicely. I'll take a picture of it at some point and figure out how to put it on here. It is so nice to have.

you wont "need" a squat rack... there will be two workout options for that day... if i remember correctly... cathe will use a weigthed vest for the squat rack worwouts

I'm a fan of the squat rack. If you are serious about lifting, this is a great investment.

I'm thinking .. how much room do you really need for a computer these days? if you get a laptop and go wireless, a computer doesn't take up any room. You can use the computer on your couch, in the kitchen.. I vote for ditching dedicated space for a computer in favor of the rack.

I'm with Deana!

I'm in the market for a squat rack...I actually may have to get a second bar becasue I have a troy lite and I can't seem to find a rack that will fit. Does any one know of one that does?

I've been looking at a bench and rack that are not welded together. I've looked at Walmart and Sports Authority...about $150+. I believe one is a (Walmart) Gold's XRS20 and the other is (Sports Authority) Body Flex. But I did purchase my Troy Lite set and I still would like to use them. Where have you been looking?

How heavy do weighted vests go? You might find you have some pretty strong legs and would be better off with a squat rack.

I'm really bummed that I don't have the money, nor the room for a squat rack. But I have weird knees anyway and can't squat more than 60 pounds or so without having my knees scream at me the next day. Even S&H Legs has me in pain! I would love a squat rack but I'm going to have to settle for the 20lb weighted vest and 60 lb BB that I have now...:(

Girl, (crazystepr) you have awesome legs already, and what you are suggesting with the bb and vest is a nice amount of weight anyway! My knees don't always like me either, and I will never be able to do what I am capable of, which is frustrating, but when I was lifting to the point where people at the gym would stop by and comment, I felt all BAD and everything ;), but my knees really felt all bad and everything!

I bought one that fits nicely in a townhouse basement. It really is amazing to realise how much more you could squat if you didn't have to lift the bar overhead! I like the olympic bar too...it looks impressive to squat with. Don't laugh!!!
