I just got my replacement CLX DVD's..I'm not complaining...I'm just saying......... .

I had to call again today for replacements and was told that it was on back order but I should now get them in 3-4 business days. Previously I was told 5-7 bus days and that was over 2 weeks ago.

Kathryn,

What do you think about all the conversation on VF about CLX, hypertrophy etc.
It is REALLY confusing me. I'm trying not to get caught up in it because the more I read, the more confused I get.
I don't want to look like a bodybuilder, but I want to gain muscle. I would like to gain as much as possible before I go through menopause.

I'm so confused:confused::confused:

I think this program will build strength, though not necessarily much size (which is fine with me). I don't think that's a bad thing.

I think the rotation as planned will do more for fat burning than muscle building (because of some overworking of some muscles, like doing the light weight workouts the day after a heavy weight workout).

You've been doing it longer than I have, what are you seeing so far?
I know I'm firming up (but I was deconditioned when I started:confused:), especially in the lower body.

So, what I'm reading over there is correct. Even though many are getting upset by it.
As for my results, I've been eating clean for only 2 of the 4 weeks I've been on the program. I have increased strength, I feel really good mentally, and my jeans are slightly loser.
I began push phase yesterday and I noticed doms 4 hours later. It is early morning and I'm very sore! Keep in mind, I've had doms the entire 4 weeks of burn. I can't see how you wouldn't gain muscle with the push phase.

Someone suggesting replacing the burn cardio with HIIT during the push phase only.
What do you think of that substitution? I'm considering it, but I'm not sure it's the right choice.

Which set is everyone having problems with? Is it the B&G, Drill Max, etc.?

Thanks!
Liz

It's not a Cathe workout.
CLX is abbreviation for Chalean Extreme. Beach Body released CLX Dec 12. Almost all the disc in the series are scratched. They work, but they are scratched.

I think what people are getting upset about, and what is bothering me, actually, is that a certain poster won't just post what she has to say once and let it be done. She seems to have to PROVE that she's right by posting lengthy explanations on every thread and really turning the threads on CLX into something different. She said her piece, now I wish she would just shut up about it.

Honestly, I don't really care that I'm not going to gain a lot of muscle from CLX. I do endurance sports and this kind of training suits me better - which is precisely why I did not order STS - it's just not for me, which is okay. But, what I think her posts are doing is to make people for whom CLX is perfect shy away from them as they don't do this or that and someone on VF said they should.

Oh, OK. I know the back and forth is confusing me.
This poster is now saying CLX is Metabolic Resistance Training.

None the less, another poster made a statement I agree with. There is nothing on the market like this program. IMO, BB has found another niche in the home video fitness world. If I'm wrong, correct me. I can take it:D

I would think someone like me, who has done nothing but endurance type workouts(Jari Love, SS, Cathe's circuits, GS, bootcamp) would build some muscle with CLX.
It is like nothing I've ever done before and I think my body is responding. I'm getting good doms. I'm not too sore, but sore enough to know I'm working my body different from what I've been doing.

I am building muscle w/ CLX after just 2 weeks! I have deltoids that did NOT used to be there. My butt is higher. :D

I think the poster in question said she wanted CLX to give her an "Oxygen magazine look." While I agree that it's doubtful CLX will give anyone THAT look, but I don't see how that was promised in any of the promo materials/ads/blurbs etc. They all said, you'd get "smaller and tighter." They specifically said, "You will not bulk up if you are a woman!" If she wanted her muscles to get noticeably bigger, those phrases should have been a tip off, IMO.

For 95% of women, smaller, tighter, leaner, w/ visible muscle tone is their goal and CLX seems like an EXCELLENT program. It rocks!

That is great news Johanah!
You know, I swear my glutes are higher and tighter too.
I must warn you, push phase is another bun burner! My glutes are sore from push circuit one. My inner thighs too. I think it's from the single leg squats:cool:

I had to look up oxygen magazine. I wasn't sure what the "look" was.
It's the Cathe look!:D

Cynthia - I do totally agree with the statement that there is nothing quite like CLX on the market. I'm really enjoying it. For me, it's perfect. You're right, the product is exactly as advertised - and the reason I bought it after reading the reviews. And I agree with Johanah that I am building muscle - but I do that fairly easily. I'm really enjoying this. I am an endurance junkie, so I don't want to spend valuable time on weights - 30 minutes of tough weights 3 times a week is a really nice thing for me.

Just wanted to chime in on the effectiveness of the CLX workouts.

I'm on my third week and I've been eating "semi" healthy! Not all that clean but I've dropped 2 pounds and my jeans fit alot more lose in the legs and I buttoned them w/o sucking my belly button through my back!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Tina! LOL at the "belly button" description!

ROFL - what an accurate description of putting on tight jeans! Congrats! That is great news. And thanks so much for the good chuckle this morning.

I am on my 3rd week of CLX and I would swear my bum is higher and tighter and my legs have leaned out. That is probably the first place I have really noticed the CLX. It it also getting a lot easier to do all the lunging and squats (although I have trouble with the sumo squats do to my knee pain.)

I am enjoying it and plan to keep up the full rotation before diving into the STS. I think they will compliment each other well to rotate between the two.

Higher, tighter bum..yep, I'm having the same thing happen (now, I can't say 'high, tight,'' because I'd gotten deconditioned, and it's not there yet, but highER, tightER is a good start!).

Kathryn, Just how "deconditioned" did you consider yourself? I am asking b/c I have had a serious lapse in my workouts (5 months). Never have I gone this long without working out, but this has been one hellish year. I have not gained any weight but have certainly gained inches, my body fat percentage is higher, and I would definitely consider myself "deconditioned." I am questioning whether I should just dig into CLX or work up to it. Does anyone who is doing CLX have any comments or suggestions? I am 58 years young.

(Sorry Phatfitness--didn't mean to hijack your thread.)
