I don't want to be 43!!!

I'll be 49 this year. Oh, I remember the good days at 43!!

Cheryl

p.s. I was doing a pilates class yesterday and the almost perfectly formed young thing next to me could barely keep up. I thought, I may be old but I can still move what I need to move and in a very good way. I'll wager in 7 years you will be even better than you are right now.

I hit that number in July so I'm right behind you.

Just remember - 40 is the new 30, 50 is the new 40, etc. so you're really only turning 33. :)

Or you could reverse the numbers and be 34..... but I liked the idea of telling people you're older than you are so they think you look even better! Very tricky! ~japer

Shelly,

43 is a great age, actually. You can be my 51 years. Well, happy birthday! It would be nice to just skip a couple of birthdays wouldn't it?

Cheryl

Considering the alternative...........well...ya know...:)

I'll be 45 in a few weeks and am choosing to approach it the same as when my kids were little and pined to be a different age than they were. I always told them, be VERY excited!! You've NEVER been 43 before and NEVER will again, bask and revel in it, savour and relish.....be REALLY good at being 43:7 Every year, every day, every hour is a gift! (even the sucky years, days and hours....a gift)

Hope you have a happy birthday!

Take Care
Laurie:)

>I'll be 35 next month but would much rather be 29 again. ;)

>I know where you are coming from...

I'll be 29 in October, but I stopped my birthdays at 21. :)

A friend who is a mid-wife was just saying how she can no longer tell everyone she is 29. (She is 35, but could pass for 29 in my book) Her 15 year old DD had friends over and they asked her how old she was. She said 29. One of the girls thought for a second, then said, "You mean you had a baby when you were 14?"

Oh my gosh, 21 years young! *sigh* I remember those days. WOW, I was a partier! I went out clubbing nearly every weekend! I don't know how I did it but it sure was fun! }( }( }(

Okay. Here's an idea. Just use a different numbering system. For example, I am 56, BUT in hexadecimal I am 38. Only in hexadecimal you are 2B, so that doesn't work so well for you right now. BUT you can make up your own. You could use a base 20 system--and then you would be 23! There you go! We could call is something like vientedecimal. You are still the same you, but you have defined yourself in a different way.;-) :p :)

(I have entirely too much time on my hands.)

Well, just tell everyone you're 42 with one years experience:p

Sorry Shelley, I wish I could understand what you are so upset about, but I am sooooo much younger than you that I can't even imagine what you are going through.

I WAS hoping you might have some words of wisdom (age brings on wisdom doesn't it?) on how you keep up with the Cathe videos at your advanced age...

And I am SHOCKED that you were even considering tatoos and piercing at your age - how inappropriate!!!! What will the other ladies at the retirement community think!

is not an act but a habit.

I turned 50 last Oct and really have to say, I love it!! OK, not everything about it, but as my sister reminded me when I turned 40ish (my hardest bday), it is better than the alternative!

Happy Birthday, enjoy it and eat lots of your favorite cake :+

Shelley you don't look like your 43:) You look young in your Cathe's Road Trip pictures.

Happy Birthday:D :D

I'll be 38 next week and have been told that I'm the "energizer bunny", which makes me feel good. (Lately I haven't felt that way, though! lol). I do know I can out-dance the "young" ones when I go line dancing.....;)

>I don't feel 43.... I sure don't act 43!!!!

I'll trade: do you want to be 50? LOL!

I know what you mean. That woman in the mirror can't possibly be the 25-year-old who is inside of me (along with a 4-year-old at times!).

On the bright side: it's better than the alternative.
