I DID IT!!

I finished my marathon yesterday, guys!! 6:23!!! I know it's not super speedy, but I did have about 7 or so hills to contend with and they were not little LOL.

I'm incredibly sore today (I'm walking like an old woman, y'all), but I DID IT!!!! And I did it faster than I thought I would!!

The end was incredibly hard. After about mile 17, I was playing a mental game with myself. I started crying at about mile 21 or 22--I knew I had "only" 4 or 5 more miles to go, but all I could think was, "Damn, that's another hour or so!!" My lower body was in agony and I was just so overwhelmed with everything. I just never, EVER thought I could ever get to this point, and my friend was a total rock and ran with me to the end. My coaches and fellow teammates joined us along the way and when I could finally see the finish line, I squeezed out every ounce of strength I could muster to get across that finish line.

Everything that came after is a blur, however LOL.

Yay!!!! Thank you so much for your good vibes, everyone--they worked!!

You did it!!

Nothing else matters!!!!
You did it.
Not in my wildest dreams could I even imagine.
But hearing about other's success makes we want to learn more about it
You are an inspiration. CONGRATULATIONS :D:D:D:D

Wow, you are amazing!! I cannot even run one mile, much less run for 6+ hours. I am in total awe of you! What an amazing accomplishment!

I DID IT

CONGRATULATIONS - I know the feeling. I completed the NYC Marathon in 2000 at the age of 50. My time - 6:52 - but I finished - in the dark - and upright.

Congrats girl! You are AWESOME!!!! That's an accomplishment to be super duper proud of no matter what your time!!!!:D

I am going to run my first marathon in the spring of 2009 and I will likely do it with Team in Training myself!

WooHoo Jennifer!! Way to go:D

You should be very proud of yourself...that is such a huge accomplishment. Take some time off to recover and enjoy yourself!

Jennifer,

Congrats on a GREAT accomplishment!! Know that had to be a VERY tough course!!!

Saw this saying somewhere and loved it. Though you might appreciate, too:
At mile 20 I thought I was dead.
At mile 22 I wished I was dead.
At mile 24 I knew I was dead.
At mile 26.2 I knew nothing could kill me!
So, when's your next one? :)

Jennifer!!!! A marathon is a huge commitment and one great accomplishment. You are a wonderful inspiration here!...I am with Cathy..."when is your next one?"...:D

WOW! Way to go! With all that, would you do it again?

I've often wondered about doing one, but it seems way too tough for me. Congratulations, you are amazing.:)

Cathy: that's so perfect!! I'm going to share that with my running buddies :).

My next one will be Napa, in March. They've got a 5:30 cut-off, so I've got to shave off 53 min off my time--I hope I can do it!!

Woo HOO

BRAVO!! WELL DONE! And it’s very cool that you also did TNT! GO Team! LOL

You’re awesome and just so you know; the cut-off in Napa is 6 hours…. :D You can do it!

There’s a few Cheetahs headin’ to Napa too! ;)
