I did it. Yep, tis true! Some of you may remember that I was bitching and moaning about Cathe being very “dancy” and complicated foot work for me (i.e. – male! lol). Bootcamp, IMAX 1-2 etc… fine, but cardio and weights and rhythmic step (have you ever!) were beyond me. Last night I put cardio and weights on and broke the step segments down, piece by piece…and guess what??? I did it. Yep all of it, without a hiccup! Finally I had a good time doing Cathe aerobics! I know this is basic and most of you can do it with your eyes shut, but for someone like me, it’s a huge accomplishment. Now if only rhythmic step were that easy!!!
 
Way to go! Now that's very impressive. Can you teach my hubby how to do it? just kidding

Now you'll be asking her for new step tapes, in addition to strength workouts!

Nah...thinking i still like the strength tapes bestest! But i do now love love love cardio and weights, how much fun is that!
 
That is great! It's a great feeling when it clicks, isn't it? And it just gets more and more fun!

Congratulations there Wayne!!!! Now do the same thing w/Rhythmic Step. I broke this up into 2 sections. I did the first section until I had it down pat & then moved onto the 2nd portion until I had that down pat too. Then take a deep breath & do the entire thing. You'll give yourself a HUGE pat on the back when you've completed it. Way to go!!!! Kathy:D
 
Yipeee Wayne! That is great. I join you on tripping all over on the complicated choreo! Glad no one was around when I attempted StepBlast Wednesday! Oh my, you should have seen me! Woo-Hooo for you! Keep at is as practice DOES make perfect. (Well, not sure I will ever be perfect at StepBlast, but I'll keep trying!;-))

congratulations! I was on this forum about a week ago saying how much I hated IMAX2 because I couldn't do the intricate steps, but this week I made it through intervals 1-5 (stopping only because I ran out of time) - it felt like a great accomplishment.

Cathe is a force of nature!

I remember thinking I would never like Rhythmic Step because I would never get all that mamba and cha cha stuff down. Now that is one of my favorite step tapes.

:D Congratulations icklemoley! Don't you feel soo accomplished when you master these steps? Wait until you give "Step Blast" a try! Did you order that one? It reminds me a lot of "Rhythmic Step", something to strive for!
 
Congrats Wayne! I struggle with the complex step choreography as well. I know I will have accomplished alot when I get Rhythmic Step. For now that is beyond me!

Hey!! I was really hoping that you'd just break down and no longerbe able to resist the choreography. I will tell you that the step portion of BodyMax was WAY too dancy for me at one time. Not only couldn't I do it, I hated it. But one day I had lots of energy and decided I would just attempt it. After an hour I finally mastered *most* of it. It wasn't until a year later that one part finally clicked, and my life was complete :D. Then last night, I did Bodymax again, and I thought, What's the freakin' big deal? So, it does get much easier with practice :)

Congrats!! The dancier workouts can be just as intense and a lot of fun when you learn them. Just don't try when you're in a bad mood. Trust me, it doesn't work x(

congratulations! And I'm glad your recent discussions on this topic with people here encouraged you to give it a go. I've always said, we never know exactly what we are capable of, there's always more in us than we realize. You just proved it to yourself!

I reccommend Cathe's Step Works to you because although people think it's a dancey tape, I really don't think it is, not in comparison to Rythmic Step at least. And this tape will wear you out, it has all the intensity and powerful athletic moves that you love in the Imaxes.

The first segment uses propulsion moves, athletic moves, put together quite fast and it never slows down. I always psycho-babble myself while I'm doing it, because I know that if I get through this whole section without needing a break, I'm good to go for the whole routine!

The seccond section teaches you a short routine, aand after you put it together, Cathe throws two blast moves into the mix and then the whole lot is repeated 4 or 5 times, for a real intensity blast to finish out that segment.

The third section might be the danciest, but there are not many moves and again, Cathe finishes them up with a tough over the step repeatedly propulsion move that will not fail to get you into the anaerobic zone as you finish the whole tape with a blast.

When you finish this one, you have really achieved something for the day just as with the Imaxes. I much prefer this tape to Bodymax which I personally think is set too fast and it caused me an injury once so I'll probably never do it again.

Again, congrats to you and yes, the choreography of Cardio and Weights always puts a smile on the face doesn't it!?!

Hi icklemoley, I'm glad you gave Cathe a chance. I know you're wary of "dancey" moves but just to let you know, some of the best dancers I've ever had the pleasure of dancing with are guys. Anybody -- male or female -- can get Cathe's moves down if you just give it some time. Congratulations! :7
