Does anyone else out there absolutey have grab a quick drink of water while doing these workouts?

I'm new to Cathe and was too afraid to try IMAX. I've been doing the CTX series for a couple of weeks and last night I finally tried IMAX and did the whole thing without modifying (had to pause and stop for water a couple of times)! I was so afraid to try it and now I'm so glad I did!! Woo-Hoo!! I think maybe doing the CTX series helped me build up some endurance?

My throat got sooooo dry!!! I can't believe those girls in the workout don't even stop for a quick drink of water. How do they keep their mouths and throats salivated?

I can't wait to order her new ones now!

Hi there. The crew actually stopped for a water break right after the 5th interval. That is what Cathe said a few months ago. :)

Oh wow! Thanks for the info! :) I know I slug away!! It's funny.... sometimes it's hard to drink because I'm breathing so hard and trying to swallow water at the same time!! Hee-Hee!!

I know what you mean! IMax kills me. I usually go through 2 full glasses of water for IMax. I'm waiting for the new DVD's, so I'm really nervous about IMax 2.

Oh my!! I am really nervous and excited to try IMAX2 also. :p
I'll have to make sure there are at least three ready to drink, nice and cold, bottles of water sitting there for me before I start!! :7

Funny I thought the same thing today and had to stop for water too! I know what you mean! I know I cant wait until i can get imax 2 but i love imax

I was SO afraid to try IMAX -- I did watch it before I did it and I was a little intimidated at the thought of taking it on. So, I did it just using the top portion of the step (the 4" level). I am not an aerobic wimp, but I honestly don't think I would have been able to make it if I had used any additional risers under the step. My legs were so heavy by the end of it, I wouldn't have been able to step up more than those 4"! And it WAS difficult to drink water, with how heavy I was breathing at times . . . I was glad I tried it, though, and after viewing IMAX 2, I look forward to taking that on too!! Now I'm not so afraid }(

I sometimes "sidestep" my way over to some water during the recovery part of the interval and squirt and swallow while I continue sidestepping. If I time it right, I don't really "stop".

Yes! IMax is definitely a 2 glasses of water workout!
I always stop after the 5th interval and get another glass of water!
I guess it's all that heavy breathing! LOL!

Okay, I haven't actually done IMAX, and I am waiting for IMAX2 on DVD and I'm actually getting a little worried, but I guess it's good to know to plan ahead! But I wanted to ask a question. When I'm doing a hard cardio workout I find it almost painful to drink cold water. The colder it is the worse I feel. I find I do better if I just drink room temp water. Am I the only one this happens to? I don't know if this is a strange reaction or not, if it's cold it makes my chest feel really tight and I think it's almost harder to breath and start back up again. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Question about resting after IMAX

Oh wow, I never thought about the temp of the water. Mine is always ice cold and I just pour it down my throat, but I did find myself being a little shocked by the coldness of it, but then I feel like I need it too be cold to cool off or something.

I thought I was fine the next day after doing IMAX but then I tried Rythmic Step and my legs were sooooo tired toward the end I couldn't finish. Should I have rested the next day? It was a little frustrating because I made it all the way through IMAX without modifying and was so proud of myself. But last night toward the end of the RS workout, my legs just gave out. :(

Is this normal??

RE: Question about resting after IMAX

I keep a bottle of water close enough that I can sidestep or grapevine to it and guzzle while I'm recovering. I do this after each interval. I have to rehydrate. :D

Angela - When you drink ice cold water, it raises your metabolism and heart rate just a little bit more. Just stick with room temp water during your intense workouts and YES - you are normal!!! ;-) Hope this helps!
Sara :)
