I did a levitation hold!!!!

You are the only folks who would understand how much of an accomplishment this is! I have been trying to master that move for over a year. I finally figured out today that if I wedge one of my feet against my forearm, I could get it off the floor. And when I did that, wow did I feel my core! This was the first time I felt the move more in my core than my arms. And I did all 4 from Yoga-Inspired Abs on the STS Abs DVD. Next goal -- straight-legged levitation holds.

Thanks Cathe for pushing my fitness level way beyond what I thought I was capable of!

I bow to you!!! WOW!!! I've been trying like heck, but cannot do this. I can get it all up but my feet. I thought if I could get into a full lotus it would be easier, but I don't bend that way:p I will keep trying. Congrats to you!

The placement of your hands is really important with straight legs. For years, I tried and tried and was frustrated that I couldn't get my legs off the ground.

Then I thought to move my hands forward a few inches and *ta da!* ~ lift off! So play with that.

*Edited for a correction: I just previewed Ab Circuits and realized that Cathe's hand placement is different from what I was describing (I do it...not very well, I might add...with palms flat on the floor), so forget my suggestion. :D

Thanks everyone. I knew you would understand. I told DH when he got home, and he looked at me like I was nuts. When I told him what the move was, he said if my hands were down, it's not really levitating. Thanks for totally missing the point! I told him Cathe was good, but she still can't make me float! :)
 
Levitation hold help

I can only do them if I use dumbbells to give my hands more height. Otherwise, there's no way my fingers/wrists can lift me.
 
All I can say is WOW and I can imagine how excited you must feel! I'm still not even close to doing one! Congratulations! WOOHOOO FOR YOU!!!! :D:D:D

FANTASTIC!

I was laughing at my self yesterday because I just couldn't get my legs off the floor. I was doing CoreMax #3. I could lift my rear off but the feet just wouldn't follow.

HATS OFF TO ALL OF YOU THAT CAN DO THIS!!!

I like the dumbbell idea....maybe I should try that. ;)
