I cancelled STS!!!!

Deanie, I don't think the other threads, both of which I posted in, are intended as a backlash to your thread. You have to do what you think is best for yourself and I think everyone understands and supports that. OTOH I think it's nice for Cathe to see that a lot of us are very excited about STS and have no intention of canceling our pre-orders. Honestly, I don't think those threads are meant to demean you in any way.

As for the added expense of buying equipment for STS; I really don't see that as an issue at all. Unless you're a complete newbie to home exercise you should already have most of the equipment needed. I bought some Plate Mates and a weighted vest but I was planning to get those anyway, and the cost was no where near $500!!!! Once I do the 1 rep max testing I might need another set of dumbbells, but I don't anticipate needing much more than that.

I am really surprised by the whole backlash this thread has started. (other threads)

Oh gosh, Deanie, no! I posted in one of the other threads, and I did not perceive it as backlash at all. Just some lighthearted poking fun at ourselves for being indecisive with our Cathe orders. (Me, too! I signed up for the RT and then sheepishly cancelled my order.) Anyway, please don't be offended. It wasn't meant that way.

*points to above replies*

What they said. :)

I believe Beavs was just kidding around, and the "Keeping STS" thread seemed more like innocent cheerleading, not a retaliatory post. You know, it must be hard waiting this long for the series. You gotta stay motivated, 'cause I imagine patience is wearing thin.

(I love how I stuck my nose in all 3 threads, yet I never ordered STS in the first place.)

I am one up on you Lori. I havent ordered either, but I posted liberally on these and even started a STS thread.

Also...I agree...Deanie's post was not negative at all and I dont think anyone construed it as negative.

Okay, thanks guys for your support...

Maybe I'm just a little too PMSy today:eek: and too sensitive...

Add me to the list - I've also cancelled. I was so excited for STS when I pre-ordered, but the months and months of waiting kind of killed the excitement. I am also a kettlebell devotee, and I realized that I will never give them up, and would probably only use one or two of the STS workouts anyway as fill-ins. I can always order them separately.

Seeing the $200+ credit on my statement made me sure I'd done the right thing! I was able to buy two more kettlebells and another AOS dvd, with money left over!

I preordered the first week, but cancelled my order about a month later. After thinking about my goals, I decided that STS isn't for me. I would never let someone else's excitement persuade me to spend hundreds of dollars on something that wasn't right for me.

I've learned over the last six months that I have no desire to look like Cathe, and personally it just ain't gonna happen. I'm a skinny girl with bad knees who would rather spend just one hour a week working out and enjoying what I like the rest of the time. A more realistic goal for me would be to look like Jari Love in her first videos, where she's lean but has beautiful cuts. Lifting heavy weight ona strict 3 month + schedule just doesn't excite me at all.

Plus, I like to do what I want when I want to. It's worked out for me so far. Following a strict schedule just wouldn’t work with my personality. I'm OCD enough about many other things, and it's just not worth it to me to be that way about exercise. I would push myself too hard and try to "up" the weight too quickly, causing a reinjure to my knee or a new injure to some other body part (prob. my shoulders).

I also really believe that there is a lot of equipment needed for STS, regardless of what SNM states. You can see the equipment used in the clips, and I would want to follow it as closely to what is shown as possible. I also feel that the super long wait was a buzz kill. I've lost all excitement for this program, and will choose P90X if I want something like it, or I would join a gym.

So, I'm concentrating on getting my knee to heal completely and building lean muscles with lighter weights, which is the look I like anyway. I'm sure that STS will work wonders for many people, and Cathe rarely disappoints (although 4DS was disappointing to me!)

I started a STS thread here on this forum :)o guilty, I guess) before I even read this thread (I also started a STS thread at another forum last week). I didn’t intend it as backlash to this thread; I just wanted to talk STS with like minded people. I have STS on my mind because it has been a long time coming, it is getting closer :), and people are talking about it. Some people are happy about STS and others have come to realize that STS isn’t something that is right for them. I don’t see a down side (even for SNM) to knowing whether or not a product is a good fit before a purchase is made.

I bought STS because it is the home based program that I have wanted for a very long time and I’m happy that Cathe decided to produce it :D. I did my research before I made the purchase and after all the updates, I’m still happy with my decision :D. I made up my mind based on what is right for me and I understand that other people will do the same, even if they come to a different decision.

If I have to hold in my excitement at this stage in the game- I'll bust ,

Nobody should have to hold in their excitment for STS and likewise, those that are having second thoughts about the program should also be able to voice them (nicely ofcourse ;)) with out feeling badly about it.

Even at the very first pre-order price which is an EXCELLENT deal, STS is a large investment to make so I can certainly understand not everyone wanting to take the plunge for various reasons.

That being said, I am holding out for STS and am very excited. I have my doubts as to wether my exercise ADD will allow me to get through a full 3 month rotation with but I DID manage to do a full P90X rotation once so I am hoping I'll be able to say the same for STS. I am practicing keeping my ADD under control as we speak actually. LOL I am on my 2nd Fitness Freak rotation in a row and although I choose to sub in running for most of the cardios, I haven't faultered on the weight work yet! That's a huge accomplishment for me! :D
