How to begin....

Step Heat! I bought the Classic DVD (which has Step Heat and two others) because I had heard it was less complicated footwork. I am the kind of person (as I answered in a post you made on another thread) that can't clap and sing at the same time, can't pat my head and rub my tummy at the same time, etc. I was able to get the footwork on Step Heat almost entirely on the first try (I previewed the workout first a couple of times). I've done it three or four times now and it's really a great workout. There's just one part that still throws me if I don't concentrate, but that's it.

Edited to add: Cathe has just finished filming some new workouts one of which is a step workout geared toward the beginning stepper (not necessarily beginner exerciser)--they are on pre-order now.

If you're not a beginning excerciser but new to step you may want to try Imax 1 or 2- they aren't as complicated step-wise but are a great advanced workout for cardio.

:7 thanks to everyone for the info. How fast did you see the wt. come off??? I have lost 25 pd with the firm. However, I would like to go back to stepping. It was the funniest way to workout!! I myself do not like a lot of "barbie doll" workout!!! Let's just get to it and GO!!! But once again thanks. :7

I've lost a total of 44 pounds and about as many inches in just over a year. That may seem like slow progress, but it was just right for me! :)

That is awesome! I just think it is so inspiring when people share their results, THANK YOU! it keeps me motivated and keeps me working out, That is just a wonderul accomplishment.

I think I know what you mean when you put "firm" and "barbie doll" together in one statement. I felt the same way you did, you will love Cathe step. She is just so "real" and a wonderful role model for women. She may make you laugh though right in the middle of a workout! It took me about five times to master my first Cathe step tape and after that it was alot easier to learn any of the others I have purchased becuase I was familiar with her style. It is well worth the few times of learning.

The Firm has some excellent workouts but I'm another that laughs about the Firm and Barbie used together LOL. I just can't take the instructors or the music at least on the older Firm productions. The instructors just seem like they are auditioning for Hollywood.

I agree with you all. I couldn't believe the picture of the week last week when I logged onto the Firm forum. While Janet does look good, I thought it was just a little bit out there. And I hate to say this, but one of the reasons I don't like Upper Body Sculpt is because Janet's implants are just huge. I can't stand to look at her.
