How tall is too tall?

I am totally coveting a pair of Steve Madden purple suede sandals with a 4.5" heel. I'm 5'7" and that would put me taller than my husband. I own sandals with 4-4.5" heels and I feel, well, so TALL when I wear them. When I wore them, my brother said, "what with the stilts?" Am I too tall to wear such high heels? :eek:
 
Girl, they are purple suede??? Buy them!!!! And where do I find them. I am 5'8" and I love the high heels. DH isn't fond of me being taller than him when I wear heels, either. He's about 6'1" or so. But when he puts his shoes on, it comes out about even. Buy them!!!

What's wrong with being taller than your husband? Seriously! Every time I put on a pair of heels, which is often, I'm taller than mine. It hasn't ever been a problem for us! I guess I don't get why it's an issue.

I say wear the shoes if you like them! They sound fabulous!
 
Here's my opinion on the matter...I'm 5'3" and you will never find me wearing heels, even low ones. I hate them and find them uncomfortable and have embraced my shortness. Out of all the women I've seen wearing heels, though, I tend to think it is really cool to see a tall woman wearing them. If you like the shoes, go ahead and get them and feel totally empowered!
 
terri, i LOVE you!! purple is my weakness this season and these shoes are HOT!! you better buy them!!!

im 5'9 barefoot and my bf is 5'10. i wear 5" heels when we go out lol. i feel great in them and he loves how i look in heels, so im not self-conscious that im towering over him. they make me feel sexy so i say go for it!

I know you've been fully enabled by the fine folks already but here's something to think of when contemplating future smokin' shoe purchases.

You have a responsibility to be taken quite seriously........

Think of all the short, stumpy chicks out there, chicks like me, who can't wear shoes like this. Wear them, wear them for us, be tall!!

DF tells me (one of the many reasons I love him) that there's a woman at his work who is easily 5'11" or even 6'. He's 6'1" and he says that she will routinely wear super high heels. Because she can! And she towers over everyone. It amuses him to no end.

I think if I was a tall chick it wouldn't bother him one bit if I topped him in the fancy shoes.

They look mighty painful though. Could you please find me a pair w/2" heels? ;)
 
There are tons of men out there with boobs bigger than many women. Why worry if some shoes make you taller than a man. ;)
 
I'm 5'10. DH is 5'8. So, even in flats, I'm taller than he is - obviously doesn't bother him, he married me. I routinely wear 3" heels. My mom was also 5'10 (and dad 5'8 - funny how that works) and never wore heels - hated being tall. Heck, I love it. I also have to admit that I love wearing flats, too - variety is the spice of life.

I'm tall, too. Go for it!! My credit card is on super-lock down, especially for shoes (I already own about 130 pair, so I need an intervention!). Buy them---for me. I shall live vicariously through your purple shoes.

Well, it's official; the order has been placed. The shoes should be arriving end of July, first part of August - just in time for fall!!

BTW, I showed DH the shoes and asked him about the 4.5" heel. His comment, "what do I care if you're taller than me." Oh, what a sweet man I have!
