I exercise in the family room and just have to make sure my area is free of toys before I start.

:) I workout in my living room! I do not have to move furniture, but I do have to move all my dumbells and barbell into the living room!:D Our house is for sale and you can bet, the next one will have a room dedicated to working out!:)

My family room has evolved into a workout room. I hardly have to move anything, just set up my step or move a step-up stool from here to there.

I have a workout room already set up.It is a workout room/office-so it gets used ALOT!!Between working out and checking Cathe!;-)

We had a very small area next to the furnace in the deep dark dungeon of the basement that wasn't finished and a few weeks ago DH and I finished it into my workout area. We put down Home Depot mats, put the TV, VCR and DVD up and laid out all my weights. Now I have no prep work (and no excuses :)).

I used to work out in the middle of the family room and had to drag out all of my equipment every time I wanted to do a vid - not to mention my kids running in front of me all the time. It is soooo much nicer now!

I have to push a heavy sofa waaaaay back, and then I'm ready, unless I need to set up the step. I don't think that's such a big deal.

I just have to move the coffee table and get the dogs a bone or toy to keep them busy and I'm good to go!

I work out in my unfinished basement. No one bothers me down there. Except, I'm still having a problem keeping the dog busy. She especially enjoys knocking me over when I do yoga.:)

Try a Kong toy stuffed with peanut butter and dog kibble or some kind of lean meat. Even freeze it ahead of time...it should keep her busy for awhile.

Thanks Colleen, I'm going to try the peanut butter thing, and see if that works. I give her a rawhide chew and she just wants me to play tug of war with her. She's only 9mo. and does not want to be ignored.:D I love the picture of your Dobie. Mine is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

I picked the first option -- I do have a workout area. However, I DO have to move some workout equipment depending on what type of workout I'm doing. LOL :)
