How do you get rid of cellulite????

Gemini girl

OK girls- does anyone have a solution for getting rid of cellulite-diets? surgery? non-surgery tips? I'm desperate! I have been working out for years and no luck with getting smooth skin -and I eat clean too, which frustrates me.

help! thanks in advance...

A lot of how much cellulite one has, and where they get it, depends on genetics. How much body fat you have over all can also make cellulite worse or better.

There is no surgical remedy (liposuction won't get rid of it).

Back in the 70s, there was a book out about cellulite, and it recommended drinking a lot of water, cutting down on sodium, and massage as three things that will help.

I've also read elsewhere that massage can help.

Over the last year, I've developed cellulite on my ARMS!!!! To have this stuff show up there motivated me to get back into a regular workout program and to up the intensity a bit.

My mom had problems with cellulite and she started strength training and it is doing wonders for her.

cellulite is just fat. Get rid of more fat, then you have less cellulite. You cannot spot reduce.

I think I know the book that person was talking about, it is called 'The Cellulite Solution' you may want to check it out. But like I said, it is just fat. My sister and I both have problems with cellulite, but she has alot now because she is overweight. I hardly have any, because I am in great shape. I think weight training will help, but not because it gets rid of the stuff, it just builds muscle and you lose fat, thus cellulite.

This stuff is genetic. You may just have to live with a little bit of it, unless of course you want surgery.

Good luck!!!!

I agree with cardio....strength training..... good eating to support fat loss and muscle gain..... and tons of water!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found the weeks I do ALL of these things..... my cellulite runs for the door:+ (I just with the rest of it would get lost forever!)

Hi. I work at a vein clinic/medical spa. While losing weight and exercise, along with drinking a lot of water can help reduce cellulite, nothing can truly get rid of some of it. I'm sure you've seen very thin, fit people that still have some. The place I work offers a cellulite treatment which helps change the appearance of cellulite, which is fat under the layers of skin. It's called Endermologie. Denise Austin has a machine in her home, and some other celebs use the same thing. The treatments are not cheap. We have a 14 treatment package for $1200. Endermologie was patented in France. Originally used for burn victims, but they found it helped the appearance of cellulite. The machine has rollers and suction which stimulate the tissue and eventually changes the appearance from that hard dimpled look to soft smooth look. I was a real skeptic when we first got the machine and started treatments. But I have seen amazing results on so many clients that I know it works. Like I say, it isn't cheap. Most of the women we treat are healthy, not overweight, work out, and take care of themselves.

Good luck! It is ugly stuff isn't it?

Hi...

I really think if it's genetic you are stuck with it. Hate to say it! It can get better with cardio - strength training - eating healthy and drinking water. I also used one of those creams (just from the drugstore like $20). It was the best ever last summer but wasn't completely gone - I'm about 112 and 5'2 so not overweight.

So I guess you can improve it.. but it's still most likely gonna be there to an extent.

Hi there,

You can't get rid of cellulite, but you can improve the appearance. It is basically caused by a combination of the female hormones and toxins that we shove into the body (caffeine, alcohol, cigarette smoking, the yuk found in processed foods). The fat cells in cellulite areas build up like little polystyrene balls, stopping the circulation from getting through the cellulite areas (cellulite is quite cold to the touch, compared to the rest of the body/skin).

Contrary to popular belief, aerobic exercise does not improve cellulite, but as has already been mentioned strength training can help improve cellulite areas. But other things will help to get the circulation moving more efficiently, like dry skin body brushing (twice a day), using essential oils in a carrier oil (such as grapefruit) can help improve the look of cellulite through daily massage (before embarking on aromatherapy, please read as much as you can on the subject). A tan hides a multitude of sins, so self tan on a regular basis. Cut down on toxins that will slow down your circulation, and make it sluggish.
Even Salon Proffessional product ranges carry cellulite products that can be used on specific areas, by exfoliating first, and then applying a serum, and a follow up gel, based on natural ingredients that are known to stimulate the circultion. :)

Good Luck Gemini !
