House of Night

I am looking for some new entertaining books to read! I just read all of the Charlaine Harris books (Sookie Stackhouse Novels) and was thinking about the House of Night series. Has anyone read these? How did you like them?

I am sure you have read Anne Rice's books since it seems you like Vampire's ...Have you read Ann Borchardt's (I am not sure of the spelling) They are about shape shifters. I think she is Anne Rice's sister but it was a long time ago when I read them so I am not much help with the titles. I remembered them being good though.

The books were titled 'The Wolf King', Night of the Wolf, and The Silver Wolf.
I am not sure if there are any more.

Have you read the Harper Connelly series by Harris? They are really fun, just like the Sookie books. They're about a woman and her brother who tour the country solving murders; turns out she has a sense that sees how the deceased were killed. I loved the series!!

I read the first House of Night book last summer, wasn't overly impressed but it was okay. Not remembering why, I just started the 2nd one. I'll probably keep reading them, but sometimes the writing is a little juvenille and it actually makes me pause. (Did they really write that?) I didn't have that feeling with the Twilght series by comparison.
