HELP! Can I use dumbbells/Body Bar instead of a barbell...

I love doing strength training with Cathe DVDs!! But, I don't have alot of storage space for barbell & plates in addition to all the dbs and body bars I already owned before getting into heavier training w/Cathe workouts.

Can I sub heavy DBs for the BB? Is there a safety/form problem w/doing that? or do you simply prefer using a bb for certain exercises?

TIA for your (or anyone else's) response!

i have always used DBs partly because of room. but, to use a barbell u have 2 take plates on and off and the workout has other exercises that also use dumbles so u end up having to switch back and forth. too much of a hassle. if u put the barbell behind your back it can cause shoulder and/or back problems.

I've always used DB's over BB's for most exercises to prevent the stronger side compensating for the weaker. And the reasons that Laura states :D The only exercises that I use the BB for is Squats and Deadlifts.
