Heath Ledger died

i just got home and saw this on the news. so sad...he had a young daughter. brokeback was one of my favorite movies. he was a terrific actor.

I just heard this too .. SOOOO SAD!! Such a loss!

If it was drugs .. what a waste! Drugs are so destructive .. I wish people could look from the outside in at the destruction drugs do!!

So sad!:(

Oh, that's horrible.
I feel sorry for his wife (? were they married, or just a 'couple'?)and daughter.

He was so young. That is very sad. He is the Joker in the new Batman's movie (The Dark Knight).

Mariángeles the spanish Turbo Kick junkie.

This is really heartbreaking. He was STUNNING in Brokeback Mountain, one of the most effectively understated performances I've ever seen. Some other actor just died last week at 25 of a drug overdose! It's SO sad.

Brad Renfro was the other one. I had a crush on him back in the day before he went totally downhill. It is so sad seeing them all throw their lives away. I'm still holding out hope that Brit will get it together. :(

The story thus far is a suspected overdose of prescription sleeping pills. At this point it may still be accidental.

On CNN an entertainment reporter said he'd interviewed Ledger who had relayed to him that he had terrible sleep issues and that constantly hopping back and forth between the US, England, and Australia was destroying his ability to get any sleep. I really think this death was accidental because I remember my late mother had a horrible time getting decent sleep. I used to argue that, since she was retired, she shouldn't care about when she got to bed but she was actually obsessed about her inability to sleep and it clearly drove her nuts. It sounded like Ledger was the same type. If you were to cordon off a section of Times Square and give me a sleeping bag, pillow and blanket I could pass out for nine hours, easy. But from watching my mother, I can tell you insomniacs REALLY suffer. They CAN'T sleep so they pop a pill, then it it's two pills, then three and, before you know it, they're addicts. I think this is VERY common and it all starts with the inability to get to sleep.

On the news this AM, they said the autopsy results weren't clear, not sure if it was due to pills or not, they did say the same thing about Anna Nichole too, although it was obvious that poor girl died from a cocktail of practically every drug on the planet.
Heath Ledger was not a known "druggie" at all, so sad, its sad when anyone dies, but he was so dang young.

Very sad indeed. I was in shock last night when I saw it on CNN. I suffer from chronic insomnia and according to my doctor insomnia can kill you (don't know how true that is though; consequences of insomnia maybe? I'll have to check that out). On an interview a couple of months ago Heath said that he was having terrible sleep issues after playing the Joker (he took his roles too seriously) and he even mentioned taking two Ambien pills one night and that he only slept about an hour. I was really shocked after reading that. Ambien didn't do a thing for my insomnia and I stopped taking it a long time ago and when I did take it I wasn't allowed to take it every night either to avoid getting addicted to it. That was taking one per night, I can't imagine taking two of them. I got terrible hallucinations with Ambien. It was just a bad thing for me. I think they found both prescription and OTC sleep medications in his room. :(
